Terrible restaurant. Ordered delivery, the lobster salad arrived smelling very strongly fishy and tasted off. I could not eat it. When I called to complain, the restaurant did nothing to credit me or even apologize. Rather than get sick, I threw my entire order out. Complete waste of $ 20, this restaurant should be ashamed of themselves and their service.

First, the delivery guy gave me the wrong order, then came back later to exchange it. I ordered a salmon salad with extra qual eggs and extra avocado. Extra avocado apparently means 3 thin slices of avocado, not a whole one, not even half of one. Also, when I pay for extra qual eggs, I expect extra qual eggs in my salad, and disappointingly, there were none found. The salmon to lettuce ratio was 1:30, meaning there was barely a bit of salmon and way much lettuce. Overall, it was a waste of $ 16.

Have been waiting for over an hour for our food and no show. The restaurant phone number also does not work and goes straight to voicemail. Avoid ordering at all costs.

Wish I had checked Unilocal before ordering because the bad reviews were all true. Food took 2 hours to arrive. Dumplings were ice cold. Sushi was way over priced. The quality and size is very sub-par for these prices. AWFUL

Ordered on seamless. The worst sushi I’ve ever had. Sinewy fish(salmon and tuna) and the cooked eel roll even sucked. Another review said they got food poisoning — I started to feel like the fish was that bad that I might. I threw away the rest of my lunch and went hungry. I eat a LOT of sushi and have ordered from a lot of places. I even think some grocery sushi is kinda ok. Will never order again.

It was a lot of money for the amount I received. It is crazy small if you get hand rolled sushi. Overall you get way less for what you pay for, and the food wasn’t even that great. Not ordering here again.

We ordered from this place through seamless… and never again. Both my friend and I got food poisoning a little later we consumed the food. The fish didn’t taste fresh at all, the miso soup was watery and tasteless, and the desserts weren’t that great either. I would skipped this place considering there are better sushi places in the area that actually serve fresh fish. And nothing about that meal was«authentic japanese.»

I ordered from Seamless an hour and a half ago and I’m STILL waiting for it to be delivered. I live two blocks away and ordered just two rolls. This is absurd.

Ordered via Seamless. Order arrived in 10 minutes, not the 40 minutes expected. Vegetable tempura bento lunch special was hot and tasty… enough for 2 meals with soup, salad, rice and fruit desert all included for under $ 10. Great choice!

I ordered from grubhub. do not get sukiyaki. what i got was just clear soup with some beef, clear noodles, cabbage, onion, carrots. no egg, no mushroom, no tofu, no rice, no taste, no everything. and they also give me the same soup but in a separate smaller container as the miso soup. I am not an idiot plz. Get your shit together. The whole thing does not worth even half of 19.95.

I ordered from Seamless and this was some of the most terrible sushi I’ve ever tasted– if even that. Also, the miso soup barely had anything in it and the sushi/sashimi and fried oysters were very clearly not fresh. On the upside, they have a pretty fast delivery time and a nice delivery man.

Terrible. Ordered delivery via seamless, hoping for authentic Japanese. I should’ve known better. because quality Japanese restaurants rarely offer delivery. Zayy is just another Chinese restaurant posing as a Japanese restaurant. This happens too often. I’m sure they make a terrific Lo Mein, but they shouldn’t be attempting sashimi, karaage, nabeyaki, chirashi, and teriyaki. Stay away, if you’re looking for a quality Japanese experience.

We ordered delivery from this place for the first time tonight. Unfortunately, VERY sub-par sushi. I would not recommend this to anyone. There are a dozen better sushi places in the east village, within the same price range too.

Two sake bottles for $ 10? Pretty amazing. The quality was good as well. They also gave complimentary cheese puffs and edamame. Really overly generous and nice. Would come again.

This place was delicious, the owners were friendly, and prices weren’t bad at all! The sushi was some of the best I’ve had in New York, actually. Highly recommended.

Review for Seamless delivery: The menu has a lot of variety. Stuff isn’t the cheapest. E.g., the chicken nanban portion at Ichibantei is 50% more expensive but substantially heartier in portion. Everything tasted great. The vegetable tempura was lightly battered. The ike ike roll was filling. The chicken nanban was lightly fried in batter and had a side of vinegar. I will be ordering again.

I can honestly say that I was surprised. The ambiance is definitely strange. The lights lacked a certain. .. je né sais quoi.. . and there were Britney Spears music videos playing at the sushi bar. But the food was absolutely delectable! The fish was obviously fresh and the service was on point. I will definitely be ordering to-go from here frequently.

Nice couple who own and run this place. It’s not exactly executed well but the food was good and they were offering 30% off. Sushi was actually fresh and sliced extremely well! Also got the beef croquette which was really delicious, potato croquette stuffed with beef and what i think was mozzarella cheese. I would definitely order that again. Green tea was replenished throughout our meal, and was nice and hot. The place can definitely use some sprucing up, some décor, speakers, and mood lighting. I’ll go back for some more sushi!

Being a big sushi fan makes it difficult to find a great sushi spot at an everyday affordable price point. This place hits the spot with quality made sushi, friendly service, great location and price! The prices are about .25−50 cents higher than some other restaurants that I frequent, but those .50 cents equal more flavor and noticeably larger rolls. While just establishing itself, there is still work to be done in regards to the dining environment but don’t let this scare you away. This is a great new sushi place, that offers what’s most important: great food.

I dined here with my young daughter on Valentine’s Day and was very satisfied by the quality of the food, the comfortable space, and the welcoming service. Additionally attractive, was the 30% discount we received(this new restaurant is offering this promotion at present) and we were given free ice cream(the green tea was fantastic.) The Yellowtail roll($ 7) and Salmon Rol($ 6) were top quality, and the Bento Box with Teriyaki Chicken(Yaki Teriyaki $ 20) was tasty with a nice salad. We did not receive Miso soup with the Bento, but our tea cups were constantly filled. The staff here are genuinely interested in the customer experience which means a lot to me, so I recommend this East side eatery. There are sooo many choices one can make in the neighborhood, but a little kindness goes a long way.
