Tonight I brought in an old, unique(& my favorite) swatch to get fixed. The pin that holds the band to the face recently fell out. At another location I was told it was hopeless because they no longer carry such small pins. However I decided to try the 72nd St store because I have visited before and received exceptional service. I am so glad I did. The two employees took the time and searched their drawers and other broken watches to check for a pin that would fit and were successful. They put in a new battery and buffed the face, all free of charge. I am very grateful and impressed by their care to the products and attention to customers. Thank you for working your magic!

Congrats to Yadira and the Swatch Store them(100 W 72nd street): Excellent knowledge of the products. Yadira, in particular, is able to listen to the clients without be too pushy. The«Energy for life — free battery change !» policy is excellent.

In two weeks, I have been to this location, the one in Soho and the one in Times Square. In fact, I have been here twice! The first time I came, on my way home from work, to see their replacement band options, but forgot my watch. Then I visited the other two stores, and their staff were terrible, and yes, I had to interact with them on each occasion, and their band replacement book was mostly empty. The«doctor» at one store was a zombie in hipster glasses, and the associate at the other had a Sohotude(maybe too used to every tourist ever stopping in the store and not buying jack shit?). The first time I went to the UWS store, two guys on the younger side(maybe late teens, early 20’s) were working and both were helpful. One of them was really into flirting with some girl buying an ugly watch, but whatever it takes to get the job done. When I went last week, it was just one woman and she was friendly and replaced by band in a few minutes. Booyah! I’d go back.

There is a real disconnect with these folks about how to treat their customer. I purchased a Swatch in April for my Mother and she wasn’t comfortable wearing it, the plastic band is so stiff and unforgiving. She purchased a Timex watch(and is very pleased with it) from a local jewelry store here in the neighborhood(Ernesto’s, they were lovely to her) and she gave me the Swatch. I wore the Swatch 5 or 6 times and the«buckle» popped off so I walked over to the 72nd street location today. The level of rudeness was unbelieveable, and I was informed within 5 seconds that it couldn’t be fixed, that I should purchase a different band and there was nothing more that could be done. I asked again for her to just try to fix the buckle and she grudgingly took out a large box of them and offered me a light blue buckle for this black watch and black band. I asked her to look again for a black one and with an eye rolling attitude she somehow managed to find a black buckle that fit… she put it on and basically threw the watch at me. I asked to see a manager and was told she wasn’t there. I then asked her to please fix the day/date feature as it was showing the wrong info and again was met with eye rolling and deep breathing… I couldn’t believe it. The watch was again tossed back to me. I asked the other sales person(who was watching and listening to the whole thing) to check to see if it was fixed correctly. She identified herself as «kind of a manager» and«what’s the problem?». The actual manager walked in just then and I took her out of ear shot to complain. «Sorry, sorry, sorry» was all she could say. I hope these people read thisand learn. Mostly I hope that all you Unilocalers out there give your business to a small local establishment, they’ll treat you like the actually want your business. I’ll will NEVER purchase another Swatch again and will tell anyone who listens not to either.

Old Skool Swatches. Visited the store on 72nd and Broadway and was pleasantly surprised of the locations and tons of Swatches on sale. Although the store is small like most Swatch stores, the traffic inside is not as busy as the the Times Store or GrandCentral. I bought a crazy scuba watch and a pop culture watch. Saved 40% on both watches. Love them both. Kai, sales person at the desk was very helpful. He even changed my battery on the watch and he didin’t have to do that. Another associate offered to sell me the Bunny Sutra but it was out of stock. Whey would he think i would want bunnies on my arm getting their freak on… Totally Inappropriate. hee heee he Other than that my experience was cool… I will return to 72nd Street store!

I’ve always said that to get better service, you need to move away from Midtown Manhattan and head north. The Swatch stores in Midtown, particularly in Times Square, are horrible: crowded, small, poor selection, and the most surly, brain-dead people work there. It’s as if Swatch purposely went out on the streets to find the meanest people they could to populate their store. It’s a wonder they sell anything at all but for the amount of foot traffic they get every day. This Swatch on the UWS is better in several regards. First, there’s a bit less foot traffic. The store is still busy, but not stuffed to the gills. It’s not any more or less roomy than other Swatch stores, but the lack of tourists makes for a more pleasant experience. Second, the staff is somewhat more personable than at other stores. You still gets the same vacant, indifferent stares from time to time, but most of the time they are helpful, make good suggestions, and let you look at as many watches as you need without making you feel rushed. They seemed to have issues ringing people up and using the computer that day… maybe it was new or they were having an off day. this did delay the check out process, but whatever. I was able to buy my wife a really classy Swatch that looks great, has been through the wash several times and still works, and the price didn’t break the bank. Swatch quality and no attitude… I can deal with it.
