Sylvan Parking on Austin Street

I went to go pick up a Zipcar here at this garage last week and was pleasantly surprised. Although my car was not ready despite me calling ahead, I waited no more than 10 minutes of my reservation to get the car. The parking attendant did ask me for my card though to open the door, even though he has his own.
On the return, a different parking attendant (older black male, in his late 40’s) was very nice to me and my driving guests as to make sure I had everything out of the car. He made sure the door was locked after I had dropped it off and I showed him that there was no new damage to the car, only the pre-​exsisting damage to the rear bumper.
All in all, pleasant experience.

The entrance of this parking garage is located on Austin Street Across The Old Siam Restaurant. I’m surprised there aren’t any reviews about this garage.
First off… let me say that I’ve been a monthly parking member of this garage for a little over 10 years. Overall they’ve been pretty great, that is until this past year. I own a fairly old car, nothing fancy and I didn’t really use it except on the weekends… A little over a year ago I needed to start using my car daily for work. I told the parking guys the times I needed the car. and again no problem.
A few DAYS into the new schedule I started noticing scratches and dings on the car. I told Jac*** (the morning manager) about the scratches and he said, «I’ll tell the guys to be careful and to park your car at a different spot». I said, «Okay, Thanks». Days later, Joh** (one of the morning valets) parks my car and I’m watching him park my car. He backs up into a spot that has a traffic cone they use to buffer the car to the wall. Well, Joh** hits the traffic cone and keeps backing up until he hits the bumper on the wall. Being that I’ve known these guys forever, I didn’t really know how to tell him about my concern. So I speak to Joh** and tell him he hit my car on the wall. He denies it then HE gets upset and tells me, «I don’t have time for you, you can talk to Jac**» And this pretty much escalated to a 7 month long ordeal of me checking my car before I go to work and checking my car when I come home from work. Since this incident they’ve scratched my car a ½ a dozen times more.
There is a lower level to this garage where you have the option to park the car yourself instead of having it valet. I spoke to Jac** and asked him if I could get a spot there so that I wouldn’t have to worry about my car. He said that there was noting available. I said, «okay». A few more months passed by and each day I get more and more frustrated. One day I just had it and said, «Jac**, your guys are still scratching my car…» He starts yelling at me and I ask him to calm down. Then he starts walking around the garage banging on parked car hoods and yelling. At this point I was just scared for my safety and haven’t gone back with my car since.
I found a spot across the street where I am lucky enough to park the car myself. And Sylvan has since put up two identical signs that read, «We are not responsible for any scratches, dings… blah, blah blah».
As I’ve said, I’m a little surprised that I’m the only one who’s reviewed this parking garage.
