Great prices and always excellent food. I love their sopes and burritos. Best deal you can get in the Financial District. Their by Wall Street and Water Street. Check them out for a good, cheap Mexican lunch.

What q hidden gem! I wish It was TacoTuesday every day here! Lol This little cart turns out some of the best tacos I have ever had in my life they are like a little taste of Mexico! My favorite are the chicken tacos, the chicken is so flavorful the cheese he uses along with the spices and tortillas sre so fresh and extremely loaded with flavor! I have yet to try anything but the tacos but I’m sure everything on the menu is just as good! If ever in alphabets city you must give this lil cart a try you won’t be disappointed!

This place really surprised me! Their steak burrito was delicious and fresh. I was pleasantly surprised did not expect such a good burrito from this cart. Will definitely be ordering from here again!

Good cheap eats. Been grabbing food from this street stand since they set up on the corner of 2nd St and A years ago. The quesadilla is my favorite menu item — it’s yummy and crispy… Tacos are excellent as are the giant burritos. I’ll rotate between the carnitas(fav), al pastor, steak(2nd fav), or chicken. sometimes cuts of meat are meh, but you get what you pay for, it’s cheap! On a few occasions the food I got did not necessarily«agree» with me. didn’t keep me from returning though. I always get everything loaded with the works… Salsa verde, guac, crema, pico, jalepenos. mmm mmm good stuff and cheap-o. Be warned the hot sauces and jalepenos are wicked spicy… Open all day and night and it’s not uncommon to find a long line. Holding back a 4th star because I’ve had a few meh things here.(steak milanese torta went in the trash. and the chili relleno was nasty) consistency can be an issue. Stick with quesadilla, tacos, burritos. ;-)

So good that we went twice in one night. Pregamed the UCB with a burrito and came stumbling back for road tacos before heading back home. The guy there was not only nice but also made us the most delicious pastor I’ve ever gotten from a taco cart. Will definitely go back when I’m in the area

Ugh Aziz was right– these ARE the best Tacos in NYC. And they come from a cart. Ventured here twice– once mid-day and once mid-night. Both times DELICIOUS. Ive tried the chicken, carnitas, and al pastor. Must say I like them all but the al pastor wins every time. Do yourself a favor and get them with EVERYTHING On top. It might be slightly spicy but worth it. Also, about 3.50 $ but so worth it– theyre pretty huge. 2 tacos does the job, 3 if you’re starving(i’ve seen this work for large guys and small gals that can put it away.) Really nice guys that work there and play fun music. [ loved hearing the theme song to one of my favorite telenovelas.] Cash only! Enjoy.

Wow! This is a fantastic little cart with super authentic Mexican food. Extraordinary taste and extraordinary prices. Reminds me of the Mexican food from growing up in Los Angeles. Not to be missed!

where other restaurants mexiCANT… this lil’ food truck mexiCAN! Taco Tuesday? more like Taco Everyday! Taco Morelos food cart slings big food and flavor out of a very small space. the tiny food truck is small in stature but large in charge when it comes to serving Mexican-inspired street food. if you’re in the EV or Alphabet City — you have no excuse not to stop here and inhale some food like a glutton! the cart itself is parked on 2nd Street and Avenue A. the cart itself is clean from the outside and is plastered with multiple iterations of the menu. the cart itself is brightly lit at night with a number of lights. there’s a large garbage can for your trash needs. however late night night drunk eaters seem to miss this concept as they spill food all over the place. however the Tacos Morelos keep the area clean. the food is prepared by two guys. one takes your order and $. the other operates the grill. then the guy who takes your order finishes up the order(assembles it) and then bags it. it’s a pretty lean and mean operation – not that they have room for more staffers in the cart. the two guys in the truck whip up tacos, burritos, cemitas, tortas, quesadillas, guac n chips, tostadas, sopes, tlacoyos, huaraches, and mo’. you have a ton of meat/filling choices for the tacos from steak to chicken to pork carnitas to pork enchilada to to pork pastor to beef tongue to goat barbacoa to chorizo to just veggies. you have those same protein choices for a lot of the other dishes as well. the tacos are tasty – and served in a doubled up small tortilla garnished with cilantro, guac, onions and spicy sauce. the spice factor is high if you go with everything. while the tacos are delicious, they are $ 3 a pop, so if you’re superHANGRY… you’re going to drop a lot of dollars to get a whole meal outta tacos. i’d recommend the goat barbacoa – so good! for more substantial eats($ 7-$ 8), go for the CEMITAS or TORTAS. The Carne Enchilada Tortas(spicy pork) is a spicy pork drowned in layers of beans, cheese, avocado, tomatoes, jalapenos, lettuce, and spicy crema sauce – smashed between two tortas. it’s a delicious mess of flavors that is sure to cure evening or late night stomach grumblings. The Pork Pastor Cemita is another chaos of flavors sandwiched between a grilled roll that encloses grilled pork, beans, cheese, tomatoes, chipotle, and spicy crema sauce. again, your hunger will be slayed by this sandwich of meats, cheeses, veggies, and carbs! you can also make some interesting quesadillas with the meat choices! the food here is legit good whether you need a snack of tacos, a meal via an overstuffed cemita, or late night alcohol soaking food like a torta. there is no place to sit outside around the truck, but this is more eating-on-the-go food or lean-and-chomp. the staff themselves are supernice and keep the food and lines moving. they do a good job of handling the drunkOs and other characters while keeping regulars well-fed. if you’re looking for eats at a great value… go no further than the Taco Morelos truck. you can talk the talk or talk the taco – but i’m going to drop the mic so i can wrestle this massive cemita! i out. zzz.

Quesadillas are the best! The tacos are excellent and the place is the cutest. Not good for groups, very very small. Its more of a eat and go place but soooo worth every bite!

Horrible experience. Not the kind of person to write a Unilocal review but this place was so bad I can’t contain myself. The chicken in my enchilada felt crunchy, my friends bean and cheese burrito had weird mozzarella cheese in it. They forgot our sour cream and it took 30 minutes longer to arrive than they said. The list goes on. Strongly discourage anyone from going here.

My go-to place for a cheap, fast really good veggie burrito. The 2 guys working there have always been nice. Also, they use Oaxaca cheese, making it a tad different then other burritos.

Really fresh and delicious. I loved that the guy took off his glove to handle the money and put on a new glove to touch the food.

The most legit Mexican food I’ve had in New York. As a SoCal girl, my motto has always been, the simpler the better. The hole in the wall places are the best. And yes, this place may be a cart, but for that… all the better! The men who work in the cart are absolutely amazing. They’re super nice and the food comes out quick. What more could you want? I normally opt for the steak quesadillas($ 5.50) and chicken tacos($ 3). The food has never disappointed, especially for the price! They only take cash so make sure you have something on you and watch out for the spicy sauce. It’s a kick in the mouth, but it burns soooo goood.

I’ve been here a number of times over the past few years. The most recent was last week, and as far as I can tell it hasn’t really changed much. Like any good taco truck, Tacos Morelos features both diversity of selection and generous hours. My go-to varieties are the suadero, lengua, enchilada and the infrequently-seen barbacoa, but the standout has to be the cecina, which manages to be just salty enough, and shockingly tender, a hard trick to pull off. In a world where trendy bars come and go, ever-increasing rents push out old neighborhood stalwarts, and people insist on using the word«farm» to describe eggs, it’s comforting to know that dudes at the Tacos Morelos truck keep on paddling… Anyway, this place is also notable for bearing witness to that one time I almost fought a guy who looked like Action Bronson. The year was 2011. At some point, and as so often happens in life, I found myself standing in line, at Tacos Morelos, behind a fat white guy making a scene in front of a couple of bemused minorities. The reason: the man wanted more green sauce for his takeout plate of carne asada, but they wouldn’t give it to him for free. An extra quarter doesn’t seem like an onerous financial burden, but sadly, homeboy wasn’t having any of it. And so, in a fitting microcosm of America, the morbidly obese white guy simply reached over and appropriated himself some green sauce that he wasn’t ever going to pay for, drizzling embarrassing quantities onto his already copious meal. The proprietors were not amused. In perhaps a rare display of hunger-fueled Sino-Mexican solidarity, I loudly commented that the portly gentleman might leave some of the condiment for the rest of us. He whipped around and stepped to me, eyes bulging, neck strained, voice hoarse and growling threats with that typical Anglo-Saxon machismo. For some reason I was carrying an umbrella at the time so held it in front of me, matador style. The tension mounted. Past battles flashed before my eyes: David and Goliath, the Red Viper and the Mountain That Rides. More barbed words were exchanged. I had picked my hill to die on, and it was at the corner of 2nd and Ave A, in the name of some bomb-ass salted beef. The moment of truth arrived… and then the guy standing behind us loudly declared that he was recording the entire encounter on his phone. We backed down. Bronson Jr stalked away with his family sized taco order, still shit-talking. I had a laugh at narrowly avoiding death, and ordered some goat and beef tongue. And that, my friends, is my Tacos Morelos story.

Taco Morelos has 3 locations. 1 food truck, 1 food vendor cart and 1VERY small storefront. Of the 3, I find this location to be the best. The guys were friendly. The food was pretty good. I’ve yet to step foot outside the West Coast airports to experience them West Coast tacos to compare it with Taco Morelos but base on taste alone, they are the REALDEAL. At $ 3 a pop depending on what kind of taco you order, it is pretty much the standard price in NYC unless you go into the outer boroughs. These guys open until late for that after drinking taco binge. Or if you just got off your shift at your job late, this could be your savior to having to go home and make yourself a nice bowl of ramen. In most cases, instant noodles. This location is also across the street from one of my favorite bars namely 2A. Beers and tacos. Does it get better than that? FAN.

It’s basically 24 hours. 24HOURSTACOS you can have tacos for breakfast burritos for lunch huaraches and tlacoyos for snack and a torta for dinner I had tacos because I love tacos, but next time I want to try the tlacoyo«mexican pizza» aka tostada with beans, crema, lettuce, cotija. Sounds like suuch a good snack, mmm. The tacos are larger than LA tacos so about 3 is a meal. Of the meats, I had the lengua and al pastor(always). Lengua was one of the best that I’ve had, ever. Yeah, the meat wasn’t fully«cleaned»(tastebuds lol) which is offputting, but the meat is so tender and seasoned very well — not overly salty or gamey, with just the right amount of beefyness. The al pastor is also good — not outstanding but better than most I have had in the city. Ask for all the salsas, onions, cilantro. The portions for both were generous and the guys were really funny making the food. The food’s cheap, filling, and good quality. I will be back. Numerous times.

Where do I start!!! First of all this food truck was a life saver!!! My friends and I were on a late night search for nourishment and we walked past this spot. Decided to stop and ended up changing my life!!! Best quick enchilada I’ve ever had! My friends raved about their taquitos and it was a pretty steady night so I’m sure they’re always as good. Great variety considering it’s a food truck and prime location since many LES spots let out after hours. We went around 1AM. This is definitely my go to late night spot when in the area. The attendant working was extremely nice when listening to my Spanglish lol

Este pequeño carrito de tacos es autenticissimo. Me gustó mucho los dos tacos al pastor me compré. The tacos here are loaded with the works – grilled onion, fresh cilantro, and your choice of a trio of salsas(I chose the green tomatillo and avocado salsas because I can’t handle the heat from the salsa roja) – atop fresh corn tortillas. The subtle pineapple marinade on the pork in the al pastor tacos paired very well with a pineapple flavored Jarritos, a flavor I had not seen before it appeared in the cooler of this truck. Service was very friendly and speedy, and my food was piping hot and neatly packaged.
