I had a chorizo taco and a chicken taco. Both were delicious. A convenient standby when you’re in a pinch and need something quick and cheap.

I love love their tacos specially the chicken. So tasty, healthy and cheap! The cook is nice. My husband loves the beef and chorizo. I tried other things but the tacos are definitely the best. Honesty that is the only food truck where I buy food. I have never been sick. The ingredients look fresh…

Good street tacos, served with a smile. Had three different tacos(al pastor, carne enchilada, and carnitas) and all were tasty. I used to work in Mexico City, and these were a good reminder of food I ate there often.

I think we can all agree a Cuban/Cubano is flat garlicky bread, ham, roast pork, cheese and pickles. Here…I’ve ordered a Cubano twice, both times I was given a Torta with egg, chorizo, ham, pork, lettuce tomato cheese and peppers. Don’t bother showing them the picture on their cart of a proper Cubano either, they insist on making what the woman there calls«Mexican Cuban» and tells you to order correctly next time.

Not as good as the taco trucks you would find in random parts of Brooklyn or Queens, but good enough for the neighborhood it’s in. I’ve been long sick of the food the UWS has to offer and am never excited about lunch time. I remember seeing this stand once while walking to the apple store, and immediately did an internet search of it to make sure it’s a permanent stand. This place(sorta) hits the spot. It is very authentic, but does lack the flavor and grilled goodness I’m use to from other stands in the outer boroughs, but I’m not complaining. The tacos at $ 2.50 are reasonable for the city, and aren’t too greasy or heavy. It’s definitely a flavor you can’t find in tex-mex take out restaurants or chipotle in the area.

Bomb al pastor quesadilla. Just a couple bucks, and the hot sauce was killer too. Hit it up

Best on the Upper West Side. Tacos are 2.50 a peice, come loaded with toppings(chile sauce, radishes, queso fresco etc), and are awesome. Sooooo good. Actually better then any Mexican restaurant in the area. They are cooked to order, authentic, fresh, simple, and delicious. I’m all about the al pastor. The chicken and carnitas are also great. Their sauces are homemade, and made on the spot! Guacamole is also good. Skip Harrys, skip taco grill, skip Chipotle… go for Tacos Y Quesadillas Mexico. The only other tacos in NYC that I think are comparable are at La Esquina in SoHo… those who know what I am talking about will understand that this is an extremely high praise! Beware of the pigs ear though… that shit is not a joke.

I’m not going to these guys anymore. The other day I was Jonesing for one of their huaraches. I walked up to the stand and thought great, no line. I stood there while the woman who was in there yapped and yapped away on her cell phone. After having waited there patiently for more than a few minutes, she finally made eye contact with me to which she dismissed me with a shoo-away brush of her hand, still yapping away on her phone the entire time. I walked up to Taco Grill on 72nd: instead, where they satisfied my craving admirably. TyQM’s food is okay, but not THAT much better than Taco Grill. Since TyQM recently raised their prices, Taco Grill is also less expensive. Plus, at Taco Grill, every time I’ve been in there the staff has treated me very welcomingly and have all been very polite, friendly and grateful for my business. I’d advise you all to go there instead of this stand. Adiós, Tacos y Quesadillas Mexico!

Someone told me that it was near impossible to find cheap and good Mexican food in New York, so I’m glad this food cart exists! I’ve been here two times, and we’ve only gotten the burritos($ 6.50 each) because we are burrito people. But they are quite amazing. Steak, al pastor, spicy pork(not spicy at all!), and carnitas, all have been delish. I personally recommend the al pastor and spicy pork. It’s of course, not like the food carts in LA, but it will definitely do. Will be back!

This is our regular late night spot. This guy never disappoints. Last time he made me some vegetable quesadillas and they were soo soo good. Their green sauce is a must have. Their burritos and tacos are great too. Be prepared to wait as he makes everything fresh. His cart is very clean and his portions are huge. How can this guy deserve anything less than 5 Stars?

So far these are the best tacos I’ve had in NYC. I’ve been spoiled with Mexican food when living in CA so I have been desperately trying to find a place that will help tame my cravings for it while living here — and I’ve found it. It is a small truck usually located next to the Chase. I only get the tacos so I cannot comment on the other food items. I’ve tried their Al Pastor, Carnitas, Chorizo, Bistek, and Chicken; all of which were great. The tacos are around $ 2.50/each, not bad at all. On top of the tacos, however, they do have a very wide menu; i.e. tortas, quesadillas, burritos, cuban sandwich, etc. They also sell drinks, including Jarritos but no Agua Frescas. If you get them with everything like I do, the tacos come on corn tortillas, the protein of your choice, onions, cilantro, avocado/hot sauce, side of radishes, and limes(sometimes lemons). You can either eat the tacos at the truck or take them to-go. If you take them to-go they do a great job at packing them individually on perfect sized plates, so I’ve brought them back up to ColumbiaU once and they weren’t soggy/falling apart like other tacos I’ve taken to-go have been. If you eat there, like I usually do, then there isn’t much room on the counter to put your drink on nor do you want to block the line/menu for the other people so you end up just trying to eat up quick. When you eat at the truck they have you pay after you’ve enjoyed your meal, whereas when you take it to-go you pay up front. They do offer some side items at their counter as well; i.e. pickled sliced onions w/jalapenos and pico de gallo. They also have 2 types of hot sauces if you ask. It is CASHONLY and be prepared to wait a bit. They make everything fresh when you order it, so it’ll be worth it. Enjoy!

This cart is straight-up street meat central, which is a pity, because all the other ingredients are solid, from the fluffy rice to the cracktastic salsa verde. If you’re a veg-head, by all means, stop by. Carnivores not partial to mystery meat and gristle, however, should keep on walkin’.

The product served in these chain of carts is definitely the best but only when prepared by the right person stay away from the older Mexican lady & the young Mexican dude who speaks English like he was born here unless you like your food skimp or undercooked

When I saw this taco cart, I became really excited hoping it would be like the taco carts/trucks that they have in Los Angeles. Needless to say, I was disappointed. They make everything to order, so you’re going to stand there for about 5 minutes. If you smoke cigarettes, you’ll probably encounter two homeless people asking you for a cigarette during that waiting period. The burrito here is $ 6.50, the platter is $ 8, and the tacos are $ 2.50. Not bargain prices, but fairly reasonable for the area. I ordered the taco once and the guy gave me a burrito. The burrito was pretty good — filled with a good amount of chicken, rice, and beans. Throw on some of that green sauce and it’s a spicy medley of Mexican goodness in your mouth. I haven’t tried the taco yet, so I might return for that one day. I did order the platter another time, which at $ 8 seemed a bit pricey. He told me it was more food than the burrito, but I found it to be mostly lettuce, tomatoes, and other vegetable fillers that I don’t care for. I don’t recommend the platter simply because I can’t see why it costs $ 8. This place is nothing like the California taco trucks, but I guess it’s unfair to expect it to be. Overall, just seems like a typical food cart that sells tacos. The guy told me they open at 11AM and close at 3−4AM depending on how many people are around. Give it a try if you’re in the area, but it’s not worth the distance if you’re not in the area.

Had a quesadilla and it was nice. Maybe a little blander than i thought it would be but I’m sure there are spices and what not that one could add, but I didn’t know about that. Still I’ll have it again or try something different from there next time.

Delicious tacos(2.50). Tortillas weren’t very good, otherwise close to perfect. Chicken tinga(?) Was good, but al pastor was king as usual.

*Sigh* Oh so disappointed! I was so excited to try this cart when it suddenly appeared around the corner from my apartment a couple months ago. Each order is made-to-order. The plus points end just about there. There was absolutely no flavoring to my so-called carne asada burrito. It was filled with a ton of bland rice, hardly any meat and absolutely no salsa(seriously, it had SLICES of tomatoes. Isn’t this supposed to be a BURRITO, not a flavorless meat wrap?) I asked for some limes and they didn’t have any. What kind of Mexican place doesn’t have limes? Are my expectations for Mexican food high? Yes, I’m from California! Are they unreasonable? I don’t think so. Unfortunately, Tacos Y Quesadillas didn’t even meet the bare minimum of my standards. Before, I would turn my nose up at Chipotle, but even Chipotle a couple of blocks away puts this cart to shame.

The best taco in the area. Ok… not the best in the city, but I cannot help giving them a 5 star just for being here in the Upper West Side. They do serve the best taco within 30 blocks of the lower UWS. Food options are limited in the area and they open from 11am till late(10pm ish… but things do run out) They people that work there are nice and food is just spot on. I’ve really only sampled their Tacos but my vegetarian boyfriend tried pretty much everything and love every bite of it.(They don’t list vegetarian option but they will make a vegetarian anything. My favorite tacos… Lengua(Beef Tongue) & Carne Enchilada(Spicy Pork). Another fellow foodie who helped translate my pathetic Spanglish order to Spanish recommended the Al Pastor(Roast Pork) Do note that they are very meticulous and the order will be made fresh but takes a little bit of time. Please support them to make sure they stay in the area!!!
