My son has been taking lessons with Tad and absolutely loves it! Nicholas is 5 years old and can’t wait for his lesson every week. Tad is very patient with him. Nicholas is learning the how to read music and stay in time. Tad has made it easy for him to learn. Nicholas even enjoys practicing at home. I’m so happy that Tad is teaching Nicholas and is fostering his love for the drums!

I started taking drum lessons from Tad about 3 years ago (at age 24) and never looked back. I could tell right away that he’d been teaching for a really long time and knew his stuff. Doesn’t matter how old or how musically inclined you are… if you stick with Tad, you WILL get better, as long as you follow what he tells you to do.
Tad will also teach you ANY genre of music that you want to learn. Rock, Jazz, Samba, Afro-​Cuban, Reggae… he’s been there, done that. And he’s also mastered both drum grips (modern, traditional) so you can totally go with either in his lessons.

I’ve been taking drum lessons with Tad for a little over a year now and I’m amazed at how quickly I’ve progressed and how much I LOVE playing. I mean, okay, I’ve wanted to play the drums since I was about 9, but learning a new instrument as a grown-​ass adult, with jobs and responsibilities in the way, is hard work! Tad got me through the initial I-​suck frustration phase quickly. He doesn’t teach by numbers (i.e. you don’t have to get through two books’ worth of rote exercises before you get to anything interesting), but he makes sure that you master the skills that are really relevant to becoming a good drummer. Yes, you do have to practice, and he will keep you honest, but that’s what good teachers do!
Most importantly, he instills confidence in his students and quickly gets us to play music (in front of people, at that). I was convinced that it was too late for me to actually DO anything with my drummery (now it’s a word) at the advanced age of 25, but Tad has encouraged me to start thinking about playing with people and working towards higher goals, and I’m gonna come back and update this review sometime in the future to promote my first gig :)
