Tasti D-Lite

Not the best frozen treat experience that I’ve had, but it did the trick. Bonus: they have electric outlets to charge your phones :)

I was surprised to see how empty Tasti was. especially since it’s located in the heart of TS. However, there are 5 other fro-​yo places within a 2 block radius!
My all time favorite is the VANILLA w RAINBOW SPRINKLES – it never lets me down. It reminds me of Mr Softee vanilla soft serve. Still so good! (You natives will know what I’m talking about)
HOWEVER, my friend got the «TART N TASTI» (or «TASTI N TART») and it was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. Might as well be eating a HUGE DOLLOP OF CREAM CHEESE. It should be renamed to TOO THICK N SOUR! Also, it REEKED!
I will stick to my usual vanilla w rainbow sprinkles, thank you very much. I’m vanilla, what can I say?

Whenever I’m in Manhattan I always seem to end up stopping by here. The flavours on offer vary daily, they let you sample any you fancy before you buy and for me service has always been fast and friendly.
You are spoilt for choice for ice cream in NYC but other places I tried you serve yourself and pay by weight so you have no clue how much it will cost until it’s too late, here you choose a cup size with fixed cost.

Not as good as I remembered it. Tasted kind of icey instead of creamy. Clean location and good service.

Also ich fand es ja ganz fantastisch bei Tasi D-​Lite! Es gibt einfach unglaublich viele Sorten zur Auswahl, wobei 5 – 6 die aktuellen Tagessorten sind. Alles kann im Becher oder eine Eiswaffel bestellt werden. Man hat nicht das Gefühl, dass man etwas sehr fettarmes isst, das Eis ist unheimlich cremig und lecker. Insgesamt sehr süß, aber das hab ich mir auch so erhofft ;-)
Die Portionen sind für deutsche Verhältnisse riesig, die Masse an Topping auch wirklich groß.
Neben den üblichen Eis-​Portionen kann man sich auch Shakes mixen lassen, die ebenfalls sehr schmackhaft sind.
Insgesamt wünsche ich mir genau so etwas auch in Deutschland — ich wäre wohl Stammgast!

Love it always!

It was hot as balls in NYC in August and we needed to sit and cool down. This was a perfect stop with a tasty treat. It is tiny, so don’t be surprised if there is no place for you to sit. We got lucky and got a seat at the counter by the window.

I loved Tasti D-​Lite when I last had it 3 years ago and this was the only location open late at night. I should have listened to the other reviews saying it was not good and overpriced. A small cup came to $ 5.29. Total rip-​off! The chocolate and peanut butter flavors tasted NOTHING like they did years ago. They used to be smooth, creamy and pretty delicious. This one tasted like chocolate water ice and terrible texture with ice crystals. Really pretty terrible.
Only good thing is checking in with Unilocal,I got 2 free toppings for that outrageous price. Unfortunately the fattening toppings didn’t help my Taste-​D-​isgusting.
I do give a lot of credit to the nice guys working the counter in this crazy chaotic location with rude people walking in who wouldn’t even let me out of the store with my hands full. Must not be easy!

In the middle of Times Square chaos
First time I tried Tasty was here a couple of years back.
Best, creamiest, most consistent store I have been to.
Few chairs. Good ppl watching. Nice staff. Loyalty card.

Honestly, it’s damn expensive fro-​yo which isn’t served in high quantities with pretty limited toppings, and you can only choose cup or cone sizes. No handles for you to manually dispense, so be prepared to pay at least $ 5.08 for a small cup of fro-​yo without toppings. The plain tart tastes really watered down. I’d avoid this place and only go here if I didn’t have any other choices, which is kind of the situation in Times Square when it comes to fro-​yo.

It’s okay… not bad considering it’s supposedly be relatively healthy and pretty low cal. You’re supposed to get the yogurt dipped into toppings though, which makes it much less healthy than it is supposed to be.
I would pass on the overpriced Times Square venue and head on down to 16 handles instead!

Meh, I’ve experienced better. Indeed. I was craving for some fresh and light frozen yogurt very late night past 11pm and browsed Unilocal app on my smartphone. This place opens until 12am and was the only place open at that moment, so I stopped by here.
This is not frozen yogurt, JUST SWEET ICE CREAM. Very limited selection, only 2~3 flavors. I tried chocolate and french vanilla. Couldn’t taste yogurt at all. Really wonder how their calories can be that low.
Pricing is not that bad, just in line with other froyo places. This is new in times square. Very clean.
Overall 2.5 or 3. Disappointing. Would never come again.

On a recent trip to the city I wanted to be sure to check this place out, it was good fro yo and the people were nice so i have no complaints. Its a little odd that the dip the fro yo in the toppings instead of putting them on top, seems like the flavors would get mixed in.

I’m giving this place 2 stars only because the «Meh. I’ve had better» is entirely how I feel.
Granted I hit this place maybe once a month when I want a sweet during or after lunch treat. The prices aren’t terrible but they have such a limited selection of flavors (only 6?!) that i just can’t love, or even like, this place. I tolerate it?
As for the establishment in general. It’s clean. The prices are easy to read/​follow and I’ve never been treated rudely. It’s just small. Very small. Midtown Manhattan studio apartment small.

This is a good place to get a yogurt fix thats near my office. Its really small but then again real estate in the area is probably super expensive. I wish they had more flavors but its a small location catering to the tourists in the neighborhood. Its great to run in and run out of but hanging out in there is not really optimal. First up its HOT inside. Secondly you will have to experience tourists standing there staring at the menu trying to decide with fanny packs on.

More like soft serve than fro-​yo or more sweet than tart. Tasti D-​lite of course got my attention from Sex and the City.
What I love is the toppings and the perfection of the soft serve shape. Its light but not watery… just dense enough.
In the past I had pistachio but they didn’t carry that. Instead I got Cake Batter and Double Chocolate. And then another night I got Peanut Butter with Double Chocolate mixed with butterfinger bits and chocolate chips.
I love Tasti D-lite…so simple yet so complex!

So, I really don’t know what all the hype is about this place.
I was struck with a major craving for something sweet and was anxious to find a yogurt place to satisfy it.
I did my Unilocal search and this was the closest yogurt place in distance.
Very small, with only a few seats by the window, this place was certainly nothing special.
Most of the toppings looked old and like they had been refrigerated way too many times. I tried several of their flavors with them all tasting quite bland and with the Cheesecake flavor having a freezer burned like taste that old ice cream can tend to get.
I did get a small of the Vanilla which was the only decent tasting yogurt there.
Service was ok but I definitively was not impressed with the yogurt at all.
Yeah…don’t think I would come back again.

What a treat to be able to get frozen yogurt right in Times Square — and I don’t mean that tart Pinkberry stuff. This frozen yogurt tastes like soft serve ice cream with great flavors like Nutella, Coconut Fudge, Brownie Batter and more.
It is certainly a bit pricey, but remember that you are right in Times Square so it’s not like you’re at a Dairy Queen in Iowa. The toppings are good, but they only coat the top of the ice cream — it would be nice if they dumped some in the bottom of the bowl too.

This place is kinda hidden by the scaffolding right now.
The guys here were super friendly.
I came here because of the Unilocal check-​in offer for 2 free toppings and a hot chocolate. The hot choc comes from an office flavia machine, so don’t expect some gourmet stuff. The ice cream isn’t cold stone or heavy fatty goodness, but if you’re watching your weight, tasty dlite is a good alternative.

Ice cream without getting fat. Yes, I’m in!
Its not as rich as Haagan Daz, not as creamy, but its still pretty good. I love the strawberry flavors, german chocolate, cookies and cream. In fact, I bought 2 pints home and bought my own cones, so I can eat it everyday!
I’m getting my wisdom teeth out in a few days so I’ll be living off Tasti D-​Lite for sure.
