Great staff and convenient location. The coffee is pretty good and the wifi is quite consistent. Not a bad place to work on your laptop!

Do NOT rely on this place to print in a pinch. The system requires you to email an attachment to an email address, and their computers do not allow you to download anything or open any program besides Firefox. I wanted to print tickets that were not emailed to me and it was impossible. Also, they were out of 10 minute internet cards so I had to pay $ 5 for 30 minutes only to waste 30 seconds in vain. Bummer.

Great food and coffee, love the pastries. Plus a good environment to get some work done. Great place to do it all!

Danny with his cool hat heard me say that I’ve never tried chai before so gave me a sample and opened up a new and exciting chapter of my life.

Quick, kind and knowledgable staff! Accommodating as well. Danny was chipper and provided excellent service when I ordered macarons and coffee. Keep up the good work!

My favorite place for coffee. Love the place and the atmosphere. The barista is amazing. And more than enough outlets for your phone and computer. Great goodies to snack on. Danny and Kat are the best!!!

I love this coffee shop and I have a favorite barista named Robert. He’s always very friendly, accomodating and cheerful. He makes the most amazing cappuccino too! Their coffee is amazing but they also serve smoothies and juices. It’s actually pretty amazing on how versatile their menu is. It’s also a nice coffee shop to hang out with your friends for a while, read a book or study and just chill.

I love The Bean! Everyone is lovely and friendly and there is always great music playing. Whenever I am on the UES, I always go here. And the coffee is fabulous! LOVEIT!

Nicest baristas in the whole east coast. Also I love that they put out soy vey for customers. Love the plethora of seating and corner location. I ordered Americano both times here and it’s great!

The bean provides everything you’d need from a coffee shop! Good coffee and treats, and wifi, and printers!

I am a customer who frequents this place pretty often to study, however the manager tonight was one of the rudest people I have met. She speaks to the customers in a very condescending tone and treats people like they’re inferior. I was drinking coffee while studying and she interrupted me to ask«could I help you with something» I said no thank you, and she proceeded to be rude and speak louder, asking me if wanted to get something. I had just bought a chai tea latte not moments earlier, and she was berating me to buy more. She did this to several people until I spoke up as if she was discriminating against us for some apparent reason. This lady will be the cause for this café to lose a lot of business. It was a nice place to go, however if this is the kind of management that is set, it wont be any longer. Very disappointed, I hope that the owner deals with this matter as soon as possible. I believe an apology is in order as I felt outwardly discriminated.

This only gets 4 stars because I didn’t have a chance to try more things, but the staff is lovely and their tea is to die for. It was really late night when we stopped in, so I’m not sure of the atmosphere when it’s day and pop’n. The atmosphere at night was laid back, quite, and everyone was super friendly. Drop in for free wifi, good service, and a tasty treat.

Underwhelming. The iced latte was weak, and tasted slightly acrid. The corner seats by the window that a friend and I managed to slip into as someone was leaving were freezing; the air conditioner seemed to be running even in 60 degree weather. My friend and I had to huddle in the window and let the sun warm us up, primate-style. The music was a bit too loud for working. I can see this being a nice place on a mildly warm day when the air conditioner isn’t on, and the music is low.

I sincerely love The Bean! Delicious coffee, and exactly the atmosphere I look for in a coffee house. There seems to always be good music on, and always people hanging out or working on something, so no matter what you’re there to do there’s a collective buzz of people in the element. I have yet to be left without a seat when I go, although I’ve seen it happen to people during busy times. On a Sunday especially, I suggest getting there early to grab a table, or a spot on the bench. I would love to see more food options. I’m gluten free, as are many people wanting yummy coffee, so maybe GF muffins, fruits, and/or veggies? I legit tell everybody about the Bean, although most of my friends already know and love it

Service was horrible. I came here late last night to grab a piece of cake(that’s it) and as soon as I walked in before even saying hello the woman who was the cashier sneered«we are closing in 15 minutes» which was so uncalled for. Waited in like 7 minutes to place my order for a piece of cake when there was a group of 4 ahead of me. Piece of cake was expensive at 4 dollars but very good. Will not come back here again because why bother with such ‘couldn’t be bothered’ service attitudes

Solid coffee shop that has a cool décor, nice coffee, and tasty desserts. Great street view, as they’re on the corner, and a lot of open space inside. My roommate and I stopped by after dinner one night because we needed a pick me up. I was also a bit hungry. We walk in semi-late, but surprised to see many people inside — whether they were sitting down and doing work, or standing and conversing… it seemed like a happening place at night. The baristas were friendly, but definitely don’t give you their complete attention, as they’re gossiping with each other or taking with other customers. I got a cappuccino and their pecan pie. I asked for it to be warmed up too, which they did. The cappuccino was very good and it hit the spot. It was hot and light, and went down smooth. The pecan pie was delicious. Since they warmed it up, it took a little longer to finish because pecans really hold the heat. It was sweet and not dry. Overall a solid coffee shop and would definitely come back when I’m in the area again.

I haven’t been here in a looooong while, and I thought I’d really love the place during my most recent visit. Unfortunately, I found the experience to be just… okay. I think it mostly had to do with the baristas, who seemed overly gossipy and not all that friendly. I still really love their dirty chai(hot or cold), and since I got the Cups app, I can get the largest size for pretty much 50% off! I also like that they act as an internet café/study spot/home office, and they seem to encourage this with their unlimited wifi, full-size printer, and public computers(all available for a fee, of course). They reserve a few ‘laptop free’ tables so that non-student/non-working patrons can also have a place to enjoy their coffee! :) One huge gripe I have with this particular location… I understand that no one likes cleaning bathrooms, but for such a cute place, the bathroom is filthy! And stinky!

If your looking to do work, meet up with a friend, grab a latte, or all of the above, The Bean is the perfect spot for that. I love going to The Bean not only for the coffee, but the assortment of baked goods, cool vibes, and free wifi. As a big tea fan, I recently tried the Lullaby tea. Mix in some honey, it was amazingly good and rich of flavor. The staff is friendly and typically, work very fast(which is good for the coffee rush hour). It’s a chain, so I must say, this is probably the best Bean location in the city. Something to add: Their wifi is sometimes spotty or slow, just to be aware.

I’ve been here once before with my boyfriend. We had a latte and I thought it was just awful. Today, however, I was in the mood for a good, hot cup of coffee(weird I know, with the heat and all) so we decided to give it another chance and ordered a regular cup of coffee and a banana nut pastry and both were good. The staff was okay, I guess. The shop itself needed a bit tidying up. Spilled coffee, plastic wrappers, empty canisters of milk, etc on the counter. And even outside on the floor, under or on almost every bench were empty coffee cups. Although, I don’t entirely blame them. Come on people, clean up after yourselves!!!
