The place looks great. Coffee is good. But service is poor. They are super slow and act as if they are half asleep & don’t want to be there. So, I don’t go in to get my morning coffee on my way to work anymore. Today asked for small latte with extra shot but he made regular size(which is a medium size & has lot more milk & dilutes my espresso shots). When I told him that my order was small. He said ‘its the same. it has same number of shots’. When I asked him to make it right, he tried to pour it in smaller cup & give me. He made new after I insisted that he makes new. After I asked for the manager, he apologized. There was no manager & no way of complaining! They should either train these people or hire someone who wants to be there and do it right.

Love it here. Coffee isn’t the best but I got a latte here and a chocolate croissant multiple times and it’s phenomenal. Organized, clean, friendly staff. The only questionable thing to me is the music choice. Most of the time it’s house or something upbeat. I like the music but it’s not fitting for the surrounding. You have a nice seating area to relax and have your drink and a bite to eat and the music is off the top 20 mainstream radio. They should play something a bit more relaxing. I had a soy chai latte here for the first time and it’s perfect. Couldn’t have asked for a better one. I even asked for it not too hot and they took care of that for me. Temperature was hot, but not too hot. Maybe luck? I’m not sure but so far every time has been pretty great. Above average by far!

I disagree with the Unilocaler that this is a dogshow; this CB&TL is a A dog shit show. Pleasant to the white corporate office workers, esp. to the women, esp. Byron who makes a bee-line to anyone who is white and wearing a skirt or a blouse. Otherwise, he guards the cooler where the foods are being kept like a dog, esp. if some non-white non-wearing blouse happens to be sitting right next to it.

I love the product and i love the staff they are soo friendly and give excellent customer service. So why am i complaining? Because since the first day this store has been open the owners are so damn cheap they still haven’t installed an ac for there staff and customers. The front door which is made of glass is still broken and has been for almost a half a year why is this not fixed? This company is a multi million dollar business your telling me they can’t afford to fix the front door and install an ac? The owner is incredibly cheap!

This place has the worst service and mediocre coffee. I would go across the street to Pret. Also mediocre coffee but 10x faster. Lazy staff.

It’s big enough to be able to sit and relax if you have the time. The space is attractive, clean, and the staff is really nice. I was so happy to find a place to relax between meetings!

Matcha latte amazing but the air conditioning has been broken for weeks and the temperature is intolerable during the muggy humid Nyc summer. Poor staff to have to work under those conditions

The worst tea place I’ve been to. Matcha green tea is over $ 5 and tasted more like water. This is coming from someone who drinks green tea religiously. My friend got an iced tea latte and it was ridiculously sweet. Neither of us finished our drinks.

Love the baristas. So fun, friendly, nice, willing to help out, always in a good mood. The music is just way too loud. But other than that. I am INLOVE with this location! Good job Coffee Bean :)

These guys and gals are the Best!!! I came in from the west coast and was so disappointed when they didn’t have almond milk. They told me to email corporate and ask they to bring it in for me, so I did! The next morning it was there!!! The staff is so sweet and accommodating! Especially Dolly, Judith, and Claire at HQ! Kiss, kiss, kiss! Thank you!

Free internet? Yes. Good Coffee? Yes. Decent Prices? meh. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick. I was given a fork for my oatmeal, though. That was kind of weird.

One of the better coffee shops in the area. There’s seating available which is pretty nice considering the real estate constraints in the area. Sometimes the baristas can tend to be careless, spilled coffee on me and a coworker during our afternoon coffee fix.

So I just tend to be ‘Anti-’ the chain coffee spaces. Especially here in the city. instead go patronize a local mom and spot, NY-local café. Of course we all end up in a bind sometimes. It happens. and if it happens and you’re near this establishment you can likely get a quick caffeine fix and decent bathroom. Otherwise just keep walking.

One bathroom? One FLIPPIN bathroom!!! Not only does this place close super early(6 pm — which I understand — it is a business district, and pretty much dead after 5), there is one flippin bathroom. The reason this was such an issue was that they went hand in hand. I didn’t realize the place closed at 6 — I was hanging in there before going to an event nearby. But I decided to hit the head before leaving. Only probs is that some broad went in there to take a dump basically… then left me without toilet paper. Then the place fucking closed!(there was extra in there, I just had to find it). Oh and the staff looked really surprised to see me come out of the bathroom. Seriously guys, would it hurt to say, «Hey, last call?» Oh and by the way… does ANY Coffee Bean in Manhattan know how to make a proper iced blended? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller??? NEVER. AGAIN.

consistnetly good chai tea– with skim options too! also love love the *Vanilla chai tea****** I am really impressed by how consistently good CB&TL is, especially after visiting many locations on both the east and the west coast! Attentive and patient staff too one pet peeve though– they recently introduced macaroons at this locaiton. flavors include many desert inspired treats, such as birthday cake, coffee bean, red velvet etc. However, none of them tasted really fresh… the shell was no longer crispy and the interior was pretty darn sweet too. Take them off and CB&TL will get 5 stars from me!

This place is so much better than the Starbucks in the area. Quick service without an attitude. The ladies who work here are friendly and funny too. They have cool donuts and muffins and the like. Jalapeño bagels are decent but the cream cheese is the little tub of Philadelphia(Meh!). Plenty of seating with an inviting atmosphere.

I actually found this pod of the chain to be quite pleasant — clean, well-lit and not to crowded. I was underwhelmed by their herb tea selection, but found myself something tasty and hot to drink on a very cold day. The staff was polite, the bathroom was large and clean, and the décor was cute in that CB&TL trademark highly-produced rustic-chic. What astonished me was that this store was just a few block from the craziness of Grand Central, yet I felt quite a calmness within the surprisingly large space. Several people were in there, working and quietly chatting and being mindful of others. For NYC, that was truly an unexpected treat.

Nice staff. Good coffe. Perfect location — as it is across the street from my office. Agreed, music is sometimes a bit too loud but overall the atmosphere is pretty chill for this area. And a tip: Try Pomme Blue Tea Latte! Mmmmm-hmmm! ;)

Excellent new spot. Went there with coworkers for a late afternoon coffee and found not only great coffee but a very pleasant and attentive staff. The place looks great too. Really nice tables. A great cozy spot. It’s hard going back to work after chilling here. Great spot.

This sweet location just opened up in the last month, and oh how needed it was in this area of town! It is a spacious and well laid out Coffee Bean location with very outgoing and friendly staff. They have a bar stooled window counter you can saddle up to on both sides of the door as well as some nice leather arm chairs to cozy into on a gloomy day. Also around the corner is another seating nook and area to purchase their coffee and tea to take home for personal brewing. I got a small iced coffee and it came out to $ 2.36, eep a little steep for a tiny iced coffee, and as much as I like old school deli counter pellet ice, I found that it melted entirely into my drink by the time I got back to the office, hello watery iced coffee. I think I should have elected to try their infamous ice blended, ice coffee. Why didn’t someone pitch me on this? I would have given it a whirl(get it). Aside from that I will definitely be back in here for some hot coffee or tea as the fall season creeps in. Glad to have such a cute neighborhood feeling coffee shop in such a sterile business-y area of Midtown East.
