The Ink Pad

I’ve been to the Ink Pad twice, and I’d say it’s great for folks who are already familiar with paper crafts, and not so much for people who are starting out.
There’s a wide array of stamps and ink pads for customers to choose from, including a smaller sized variety of patterned paper, colored pens, and scrapbook albums. Since there’s less variety of paper /​pens /​albums to choose from, I’d recommend going to another craft shop to see a better picture of your choices for those supplies.
During my last visit here, I asked one of the staff workers to grab a 12″ x 12″ baby blue scrapbook album from the highest shelf. I asked if the store carried an 8″ x 8″ version of the album, but unfortunately, they didn’t carry it. I didn’t mind that too much, since I understood that the Ink Pad is a small store space, so they can can only carry so much.
When I get interested in adding stamping to my repertoire of DIY craft techniques, I’ll visit the Ink Pad again.

Their stamp collection may be impressive but their customer service is APPALLING! After spending almost $ 100 & asking for a simple store credit/​exchange I did not expect the 2 staff members to be SO RUDE! I highly suggest going to Any other art supply store if you need pens or ink. As a children’s book illustrator I thought this would be a good alternative but sadly I was VERY mislead & mistaken.

I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at The Ink Pad. This may be a small store but don’t let that fool you. If your new to mixed media, rubber stamps or you’ve been doing this for awhile you will be able to find something you like. They have a huge selection of stencil, rubber stamps, ink pads and much much more. It’s nice to see businesses like this still surviving in a time when brick and mortars are going under at an alarming rate. I always try and support these stores when I can. I really enjoyed talking with the staff and they even suggested a great restaurant around the corner. Thanks Ink Pad for a great NYC experience… and some great new art supplies.

Look, I’m tellin’ ya. The have managed to cram a tiny little shop full of EVERYTHING you would ever need for mixed media madness.
While it is too small a space to swing a cat, don’t let the size fool you. They have filled every single inch of this place with GREAT stuff, ink pads, stencils, specialty markers, books.
I was worried at first that I was taking too much time browsing but the staff didn’t seem to mind.
I loved the rubber stamp collection had some items that you may not find elsewhere.
I would be back, but i live 8 hour away.
Heck. I’m coming back anyway.

I am obsessed with this shop! It is packed with the best papercraft supplies. It always has great collage materials and the shop keepers are super knowledgeable and helpful.

A bona fide New York treasure. They pack a lot of awesome into this pint-​sized shop on Seventh Ave. Every which was I turned there was another gem I wanted to take home with me. Stamps appealing to bookworms, devoted snail mailers, pop culture fiends and mavens of festivity — they’ve got it all! They’ve even got Banksy stamps. It was tempted to want to pack a basket full of their wares, and mindfulness for my wallet was the only thing that kept me exercising a modicum of restraint. But I’ll be back!
Bonus points for their friendly and chatty team working there, and the adorable custom bags that help make purchases gift-​ready.
Thank goodness there’s still room for amazing spots like this in the ever-​evolving nature of NYC!

Conveniently located right off the subway, I was dying to visit this shop. So after work today I made my way over and did some shopping!
They were working on the store when I came in so there were a lot of employees there. maybe 4 or 5? And it’s a really tiny place, so I felt bad that I was kind of in their way. And I spent a good amount of time in there… I had to look at every single thing, twice.
I’m really glad they had such a large variety of things. I came in mostly looking for scrapbooking/​letter writing supplies, and I found cuter stuff than I have in all of the city. Not to mention the stamps– they have everything you could ever possibly need. Old-​fashioned, social media, animals, letters, ink, embossing powder, glitter, Copic markers, EEEEVERYTHING.
The staff was so sweet… I will definitely be going back a lot :)

Love this place. It has everything from Moleskin notebooks to specialty pens to stamps to journals to erasers and craft supplies all in the size of a space worthy of a walk-​in closet.
Bought some small notebooks, a journal and erasers my first time here and there is always a reason to return. Great service rounds out a great selection. They can custom order whatever you desire as well. Highly recommended.

It’s cozy for sure but they have so many stamps that you don’t notice you’re too mesmerized by the selection. I love it and will be back for sure.

This place is pretty much adorable.
I’m not huge into stamps or scrapbooking, and simply stumbled on this place when doing a Unilocal search for art supplies nearby. I was looking for colored pencils, and managed to find those PLUS the stamps I never knew I needed in my life.
They have all kinds of stamp categories, and the saleswoman at the counter knew exactly where everything was, which is helpful because it’s easy to lose one stamp among the thousands. I found several cute stamps, as well as the colored pencils I was looking for. The stamps seem to be fair prices, but the regular art supplies are pretty expensive for what they are. Perhaps it’s because they only make up such a small amount of the store’s stock, and honestly somewhere like Blick would have better met my needs, but hey, this place was nearby and how else would I have found such cute stamps otherwise!
The absolute highlight of my visit though was when a flustered looking man burst in and demanded, «Do you sell stamps?» The saleswoman looked at him to see if this was a trick question, seeing as how we were all surrounded by hundreds of rubber stamps, and said, «…Yes?» Turns out though he wanted postage stamps… so keep in mind this is not the place to visit if you need to mail a package, but it definitely is if you want cute craft supplies.

I love this little space filled with stamps. They have all the stamps a girl could want plus much more. I can’t wait to try a class here!

Very cute little store! Nice selection of interesting rubber stamps, blank journals, and paper crafting products. There were so many things I wanted to buy but had to limit myself. The staff is very friendly. They included a map of Greenwich Village shops and galleries with my purchase.

due to my fear of virtually becoming a stock holder in the store after just one shopping spree at the store (my first visit), I decided to phone first… MICHAEL was so helpful! he helped me figure out my «projet» before I could allow myself to walk in the store I’ve always avoided. YAY US! (now! off to The Ink Pad, armed with the shopping list we made over the phone, along with some serious tunnel vision to help me stay focused & on task!)…
FINE! I won’t deny myself ONE stamp if it means i get to own the Rolling Stones mouth, a sketch of Mark Twain, or an NYC bodega.

As a stamping/​embossing/​crafting fiend and ex-​PaperSource employee, i really wanted to love this place.
However, i found a lot of the stamps to be outdated and cheesy (think house-​mom making scrapbooks rather than 20-​somethings making modern cards). There weren’t many embossing powders other than metallics and white, and many were half empty! Price-​wise, items were just as if not more expensive than PaperSource, though you do get a nice mom-​and-​pop shop feel here.
The staff is extremely friendly and eager to help you choose the perfect stamp and ink. The store is so small though that you cannot stand still for more than 1 minute without having to move for a customer or employee. The constant «excuse me“s eventually drove me out.

Its very cool place with tonz like TONZ (with a capital «T“because im not exagerating and a capital «Z» because this place is out of ordinary!)
There is so many different type of stamps that I might consider to buy for different purposes: business, restaurant, bakeries, services, etc. THey have amazing seals, one of which I bought to write an old school letter for the birthday of someone I care for a lot.
The price is expensive, but its worth the items you buy.
Staff is very helpful and smiley at all times on demand. I give this place my thumbs up for making me come back again soon.

Small, but packed full of stampy, crafty goodness. I had heard about this place from people outside of NYC, and when I happened to be walking by recently I popped in. Now, they state that they carry scrapbooking supplies, but they really have just a tiny tiny tiny selection. Mostly 6×6 paper pads. But a lot of that is Studio Calico, which isn’t always easy to find around here.
Prices are high and space is limited, but they pack a lot in. The employees were kind enough, but I did feel a bit like I’d knock something over if I turned around too fast. I plan to return to snag some goodies I had my eye on the other day. Cute shop, but wish it was a tad bigger so I felt more comfortable having a good browse.

Price is on the higher side, like $ 1– 2 more than other places in the city.
Place is tiny, so do not come with your group of friends, or else one of you are bound to knock some stamps off the shelves. Once one stamp falls, it knocks another one off creating a crazy domino effect. I’m glad someone else in the store did this and not anyone from my group. saved me the embarrassment.
Most of the stamps are up to date and with current trends, but still wished that there were more designs.

Really cute rubber stamp shop. We bought three when we poked our heads in. A kokeshi doll couple stamp, a letter E stamp for our last name and a Thank You one. Alot of other neat things-​like a piñata, all sorts of animals, alice in wonderland, flowers, vintage looking stamps.
Definitely stop in.
