Free, open Sundays, extremely friendly staff, and frequently changing exhibits — can’t really beat that. Featuring two exhibits when I visited, one entitled peep show and the other Pistoletto I must admit I was rather taken aback by the frankly graphic nature of Peep Show, though certainly not offended — but rather intrigued and quite impressed by the photography displayed at Pistoletto. All told the exhibit contained about 2⁄3 as much art as Neue and ¼ as much as Guggenheim — and was $ 10 and $ 18 cheaper than each, respectively — and I enjoyed the James staff and approach much more. On par with any of the Chelsea Galleries and better than most — and free.
