If you’re hungry and can’t decide whether to go with Indian or Mexican food, Kati Roll is the place for you. Inside a thin tortilla-like bread, you will find delightful Indian spices and fillings. With an abundance of vegetarian options, there’s plenty of choices for meat-lovers and vegetarians alike. Some of my favorites include achari paneer, which is a firm cheese drenched in tangy pickling spices; chicken tikka, the most popular roll made from halal chicken; and shrimp masala, perfect for when I’m not in a chicken mood. Two was plenty for lunch, but I would recommend 3 if you’re hungry. The restaurant itself is crowded with only a few tables so I’d recommend ordering out. They lack ample waiting room, even for those who order to-go.

We had the Chicken Tikka Rolls delivered via Caviar. I really enjoyed mine but some of the chicken in my friend’s was burnt and bitter. That kinda leads me to believe the food is inconsistent which will probably preclude us from ordering here again…

Great concept, OK execution. Food was mildly warm(another customer sent hers back to be reheated) and good but not particularly special.

I almost had my entire dinner here while waiting for a table at Jukai next door. If they served wine, it would be a great date spot(Dear Kati Roll Managers, please investigate this option). The perfect cure for an acute attack of the HANGER. One roll is about the size of one of those frozen taquito things(but tastes WAAAY better obviously). 3 – 4 rolls is easily a meal. Chicken is super juicy and well seasoned, definitely want to come back and eat my way through the menu.

Kati Roll is a place that offers fast, clean and delicious Indian food. The preferred vehicle is the little, baby Indian rolls. Kati Rolls are traditional Kolkata Indian street food of meat kabobs in paratha bread. I love the restaurant’s spin on the traditional kati rolI. I also love that being pescatarian, I still have a couple options to pick from. And Kati Roll picked some of my favorites Indian sides to wrap such as, paneer and Chana masala(chickpeas). But what I was instantly mesmerized with was the vegetarian croquette, a mixture of vegetables, beets, raisins and peanuts! Holy smokes! Incredible! I love the sweet beets with the salty nuts complimented with the juicy raisins and earthy veggies! This was a grand slam in my book. The only critique is that the tacos range around $ 5-$ 6 and you almost need two. I would love if they offered combo meals. Like a taco with side salad and chai for $ 8. I did order a cup of chai to go(only $ 2). There is a definite difference when ordering a chai latte at Stabucks and ordering from an Indian restaurant. The spices of the chai mixture truly sing in your mouth. I enjoyed the modern take of Indian décor in the restaurant. The worn out posteers on the brick wall and the bright colors. The place is small but great to stop in for a late lunch and enjoy the taste of India. Avoid the noon and 1pm crowd. Thanks to my old co worker for always findings the best Indian restaurants to try in the area!
Always love a good Kati roll! I’ve been to the one on 39th Street and down in Noho(I believe?) and they all don’t disappoint including this one! Love me a good chicken tikka and shrimp masala roll!

Love Kati Rolls. Super quick and very tasty. Only dissapointment is when they run out of Mango Lassi. Hard to enjoy a good roll with no Lassi!

Don’t come here if you have a light stomach and/or don’t want food coma for the rest of the day. I’ve tried the lamb, beef, and chicken tikka rolls. They’re all delicious at first. but then 10 minutes later you realize you’ve made a huge mistake. Their rolls are unsuspectingly drenched in grease(maybe that’s how its done in India though) and even though you think 2 is barely enough to fill you up, you’re probably better off having 1 and a side of salad. The kati rolls are pretty delicious and hit the spot. But remember I warned you…

Meh. I came here for lunch. I was worried that one kati roll would not be enough to satiate me, but it was a decent portion. If I was ravenous I’m sure I would need 1.5 rolls. I wanted something with the yogurt/spices so I opted for the beef tikka roll on a paratha. Absolutely no yogurt in there and the beef was far too salty for my taste. There was a good spice kick somewhere down the middle of the roll, but I wish I opted for the chicken unda roll or something else. I’m satisfied but definitely not an option for me if I’m sober and looking for a quick meal. It’s small and cute and the décor is nice. Very little room to sit, I did not come at rush hour so no wait time to get my roll.

The perfect amount of spices, onions, filler and roti make these Kati rolls a perfect snack! I crave these all the time, would highly recommend them. You can’t go wrong with any of the chicken or lamb or beef rolls! Update: got the lamb recently which had a weird texture(was minced), not a fan of this one anymore. Did it used to be lamb kebab style?

What a sense of being in a business !!! Kati Roll at 59th street. Ordered before an hour, go to pick up order, they didn’t even start making it mentioning 2 people are ahead of me, they dispatch order of people who come after me, you get your order after 20 mins and when you go to pay you still have to stand in line behind those people who just entered the store for pickup and ordering… On requesting to pay first the guys mentions«you can’t cut the people before you». The best part is they mess up the veggie and aloo rolls with bitter stale onions in the food with no flavor for aloo rolls Friends !!! Beware of Kati Roll food. The guy didn’t even change gloves after touching his butt !!!

it’s a small hole-in-the-wall joint that seats maybe 10 people tops, but the kati rolls here are JAWESOME. for those just joining us, the best way to describe a kati roll is the Southeast Asian analogue to a burrito. here, the meat is tender and richly spiced(not necessarily hot spicy, but flavorful overall) and the portions are quite filling. we ended up ordering 4 full rolls, which can come cut in half — perfect for sharing. it’s fairly inexpensive too. they do one thing, and they do it quite well.

This place is awesome! After a short workout at the gym, I decided to get some protein and found this place on Unilocal.I came about 20 minutes prior to closing, and ordered a chicken tikka Kati and a shami kebab Kati. Boy, did these two items hit the spot. I think one roll is too small a portion to be a meal, but two was perfect. The chicken tikka Kati was very flavorful, with solid pieces of chicken and a kick. The spiciness lingers for a while. The shami kebab roll was phenomenal! The kebab was so juicy and tender. I think it was ground beef. In any case, it’s amazing. The«tortilla» used to wrap the condiments was special too. Thin, but adds to the texture of the rolls. Well done! Be aware that they close promptly at 10pm.

Simple, no frills corner cozy place with just two table and an additional bench inside. Food was terrific. The unda Chicken tikka roll and lamb roll are the best. The flour tortilla is the key to everything. Though the rolls are good I would want the sauce to be more authentic and have variety available just one or two. You have to go to this place just for the food and nothing else…

Came here for lunch with a co-worker and I was really happy I did. I am always looking for new lunch spots to add to my rotating list. I ordered the Chana Masala Roll(chick peas) and the Shrimp Masala roll. Both were good but the shrimp one was my favorite, although, I didn’t taste the coconut milk it claimed to have. The chickpea one had onions so I made sure I didn’t speak to anyone till I was able to brush my teeth. I didn’t know if I should have ordered 1 or 2 rolls as I don’t need much to be full and 2 was a little too much for me. 2 – 3 rolls I think are perfect for the fellas. The place is super tiny and ironically it was the 1st place I had Indian food years ago when it was a different restaurant. Service was fast and friendly. Will be back. l

I bought a roll from here and it was like, «yeah, you’re like the best looking guy that bought me, like, ever», and I said«wow, really?» And the roll was like«no, um… did you really think I was serious about that? You’re an embarrassment to New York men. You must be from somewhere else. Have you ever heard of personal grooming?» No wonder it’s known as «Catty Roll Company.» Me-ow. Hiss. But as purr usual, I’m going to focus on a review of the food itself. It’s in my Unilocal contract claws and so furr it’s served me well. What to get: Chicken Tikka Roll What else: Don’t go to the place across the street(Crappi Roll), because, well… it’s crappi. I’ve only been to this location once, in late 2014. It was the second location I ever came to of the 3. I liked it slightly better than the McDougal street one, but not as much as my favourite which is in Midtown West. This was also the least busy of the three locations. And now for recycled jokes. If your name is Jake from State Farm, then you may want to skip this place, and instead, get lunch at «Khaki Roll Company.» I’d like to thank Kashif for telling me about Kati Roll Company. I’d also like to thank him for de-xaggerating rather than exaggerating about the size of his thingy, which I found out the easy way(or the hard way, you might say) and was very grateful for. If you want Indian food in the USA, NYC is the place to go. You have authenticity in Jackson Heights, amazing British-style curries at Seva and Hyderabadi, and the best dosa you’ll ever have at Ganesh Temple — all are in Queens. In Manhattan, you have the wondrous Biryani Cart with its orgasmic Chicken Tikka. But there’s another Indian specialty served in NYC that may just rock your world: Kati Rolls. If you eat too many of these, and I mean like 50 a day, then you may soon be dealing with«Fattie Roll» instead of Kati Rolls, which is basically what happened to me when I first started doing NYC food tours. I’ve since got it under control but it was a hell of a lot of work in the gym to do so. I’m totally a fat kid on the inside. Nom nom nom. I hate to fulfil stereotypes but I was skinny as a rake before I moved to USA. You Americans and your amazing food! Grr! The best places to get Kati Rolls are either Thelewala on McDougal Street… or «Kati Roll Company» itself. As I said, this one was my 2nd «Kati Roll» location that I tried, and I haven’t been back to this one since, because the other two are closer to the places I usually go in Manhattan. Yes it sometimes has Manhattan(hipster or overpriced) services, but not usually Manhattan prices. It’s very competitive when it comes to cost. If you’re a Golfer, then you may prefer«Caddy Roll Company.» Kati Rolls originate in Calcutta, aka Kolkata, which is a city named after the brutal hitman-of-a-kitten I have named Harley(he’s a Cold-Kitten), and here on Womanhattan Island, eating at Kati Roll is very affordable, and can be a «Costcutta» if you’re running low on dough. Speaking of dough, let me tell you about Paratha. If you are gaining too much weight from these rolls, rename it the«Calorie Roll Company.» A Kati Roll is a delicious, squidgy, slightly charred, dreamy«Paratha Bread» wrap. I don’t usually like wraps in general, but when the bread is this heavenly and the fillings are this spectacular, I make exceptions. I’ve tried the shrimp and a few others, but the Chicken Tikka Roll is by far my favourite. The chicken is so sauteed and spiced and juicy and delicious. All of the bits and pieces they shove in there(I love when they shove them in there) are just divine. The concoction is a winner. Let’s just say there’s a reason why Kati Rolls started popping up all over the city. They’re incredible. If a Taxi Driver advises you to eat here, then you can call it «Cabbie Rol Company.» So if you visit NYC from any given place of origin, and you’ve never tried a Kati(aka Kathi) Roll, and aren’t sure what Paratha Bread is — like I wasn’t, just a few months ago — then do the right thing, come here and give it a try. The product is juicy and perfect, and this location isn’t as Hipstery as the McDougal one. They’ll get you out of there fast(and so will I, if you only rent me for my usual 20 minute minimum, no extras). Kati Roll Company is one of the hidden gems of Manhattan Island. Indian Fast Food, delicious, and done right. My PC says that I’ve talked enough about Kati now. I think the PC is just resentful because these aren’t very PC-esque rolls, they’re more«Apple Mac-ky» Rolls. And remember, if you have the choice between the three locations… I recommend Midtown West. But if it’s late night… it’s McDougal. When on McDougal try Mamoun’s and Thelewala too. And if you’re in the middle of studying for your ACT exam, then eating here won’t help, because they’re not ACT-esque rolls, they’re more«SAT-y rolls.»

Five stars — I come here all the time(like, once every one to two weeks). I always get the unda beef roll — the flatbread, a thin layer of eggs, and delicious marinated beef. And of course, the chutney to go on top! If you aren’t that hungry, one kati roll(assuming it has eggs) should fill you up. If you’re hungry, then get two … I find that for me, one and a half is actually the perfect amount. For guys, you might need three. Clocking in around $ 5 – 6 each, one is a cheap lunch, two is an average priced lunch, and three gets expensive… so how many you need will probably determine if you think the place is a good value or not. They serve beer, though I can never get that at lunch. I do like the mango lassi drink though. Definitely come to eat here(or another location!), and don’t forget the chutney — it makes a difference!

I’ve been coming here more than I should, but what can I say? I looooove kati rolls. This is pretty close to a few bars on 2nd ave, which is convenient because it stays open until 2 am on the weekends. I still think the location on Macdougal is better for some reason. Maybe because they can handle larger orders faster. The sitting is limited as expected. Sometimes they get backed up with larger orders from groups that come in and order at the same time, so beware if you show up after one of those groups and only order one roll. Unfortunately, your one roll will take about 15 min to come out instead of 5. The staff is very nice. This is great to come after midnight or just before drinks. The rolls are $ 5 – 7 and they are worth it. Get the chicken tikka roll(so damn good). The aloo roll is delicious too, so is the chana roll. I usually get the shrimp roll when I’m in the mood after a long night. I’ve never been disappointed by these kati rolls. I just wish they had more sitting and better lassi. I don’t understand the bad reviews.
