The bar was awesome — great space, great décor and great view. We ordered some champagne and chips and had a great time.

Stayed here at the end of December for 2 nights in one of the specialty suites and it was worth the splurge! Amazing room, incredible bathroom and very spacious accommodations. Free soda and water in mini-​bar, and turn down with chocolates and slippers put out for us at night. Location is right in Times Square, but blackout shades and thick windows blocked out all sound except a few sirens now and then, Bed is Amazing and the service was really excellent. People were all attentive, friendly, and helpful. Ice was brought quickly and room service breakfast was exactly on time and as requested. Workout room was incredible with full boxing/​kickboxing workout machines. Nice café and restaurant in the hotel (did not eat there but looked good), and you are right on top of the action. Highly recommended for this area. The only downer is all the crowds once you hit the street, but you can walk right to the subway on the corner.

Impressed with the reviews and traveler pics. Just called to make a reservation for 4 adults. I focused in on the Junior Suite which is supposed to have two queen siuze beds and a PULL OUT queen size sofa bed according to their OWN website description. Reservationist stated that that is not rue. NONE of the rooms have pull out beds. you just move the pillows and sleep on the sofa.

Such a great hotel! Loved the room and bathroom — modern, super clean, and pretty decent size for an NYC hotel. Everything is electronic — lights, shades, etc and with a Samsung tablet in each room. Everyone at the hotel was nice, welcoming, and very able to help. Location was right in Times Square. They have a restaurant and rooftop lounge (awesome views from the rooftop). It’s a part of the Leading Hotels of the World — we’ve always enjoyed staying at one of their hotels. Definitely recommend!

Tried the roof top bar last night, expecting great things. First, I had to search for a waitress/​waiter. When I finally found one, I ordered a vodka tonic. They brought me a glass of flat water with a splash of vodka in it. When I told them that the tonic was flat, they said, their fountain system was not operating correctly. I asked if they could simply bring me a bottle of tonic, that never happened. I finally wound up with a so-​so Martini. All this took about an hour. Definitely, unacceptable for a NYC Hotel Roof Top bar. Disappointing at best!

What a fantastic place, absolute awesome location in Times Square near all the action and the subway, there is a station 40 yards away on 42 & Broadway. This was by far the nicest hotel I have stayed at in NYC in my dozen or so trips.
The entire hotel is chic and the king room was actually spacious considering the usual Manhattan standards.
My highlights;
–It had a 55″ Samsung that was actually HD, super picture. Most hotels have an HD TV running a lousy broadcast.
–All the lights were controlled by smart switches that allowed dimming and complete blackout combined with the remote controlled window shade.
–I didn’t hear a single sound in the hotel in two nights, slept like a baby
The rooftop bar was movie calibre, even if you don’t drink just head up for the views of times square day or night.
–Oh and if you want to sleep in, no need to fumble with the «do not disturb» door hanger, there is a simple wall switch that illuminates an LED light by the door for privacy or service. Simple but practical.
The only negative was the lack of a view, some building on 41^st was 10 feet away casting a shadow (thanks
for the lousy booking).

Talk about a letdown! This place had so much buzz surrounding its big opening and it’s just NOT THAT GREAT! Sorry!!! Nice rooftop and ok view for midtown but not the best rooftop setting by a long shot. Not only that but the service sucked (mainly nonexistent and when you did spot an actual employee they were too busy looking at their reflections or bitching to one of their coworkers about how much they hate their jobs). As for the food… are they kidding me!!! How can they expect people to stay for more then one drink after work when they have 5 food items to choose from… a frozen hot dog, a bad taco, hummus, you get the point. I ordered their entire menu and each item was worse then the last. Plus, the drink menu was a joke!!! Bud light! Corona! Not sophisticated at all. The staff acts all snooty and cool but what for!!! The point is you don’t need to go to places like this when you are in NYC as there are just so many amazing options. This is sadly just not one of them!

I have to love this place. So well situated smack dab in the middle of Times Square with a fab view of all the lights and muppets below.
The comfy beds and well appointed room are welcoming in the elegance and inviting hues and textures.
There is a café, fitness room, rooftop resto and lounge.
Well stocked mini bar and amenities in the bathroom.
Large screen TV, wifi, iPad… Marvelously contemporary.
I love this place and look forward to returning and recommending this jewel of both historical and design import.

What a treasure this hotel is. Right in the middle of the action yet a peaceful getaway. The service is incredible from the friendly bellmen to Chris in the restaurant who made our family feel like we were the VIP’s of the property. He tracked down granola for our oatmeal, walnuts for our yogurt and even offered if we were staying longer to get us the cottage cheese our friends requested. A definite return spot for us.

Great place! Stayed here for four nights during 4^th of July weekend. Location was prime! Right in the heart of Times Square and was able to do my shopping and watch a Broadway show all simply walking. We had a car and valet cost $ 55 dollars/​day. The rooms were really big to my surprise and very quiet too. Highly recommend

Nice central location (42^nd & Broadway) in Times Square. Great history and beautifully restored. Roomy and modern interior. OUTSTANDING service all the way from doorman to front desk to housekeeping. Would definitely stay here again.

Fangen wir mit dem positiven an, der Hotel liegt sehr zentral, direkt am Times Square. Das Zimmer war nachdem ich das erste abgelehnt hatte wegen extremem Schimmelgeruch auch okay. Großes bequemes Bett mit Fernseher, das Bad war war sauber und schön eingerichtet. Die Dachterrasse ist ebenfalls né coole Sache.
Kommen wir zum negativen, das Hotel ist sehr kalt und überhaupt nicht einladend eingerichtet. Das Personal ist bemüht aber meistens überfordert. Wir hatten nachgefragt wie lange die Terrasse geöffnet ist und uns wurde 1 uhr (nachts) gesagt. Als wir dann mit Kunden um kurz nach 12 Uhr auf selbige wollten war diese dann doch plötzlich schon geschlossen. Sehr peinlich!
Es gibt diverse Flaschenbiere auf der Terrasse aber nicht nachvollziehbarer weise an der Bar im 4 Stock. Warum? Oder in einem 5 Sterne Hotel erwarte ich einfach, dass bestimmt Gin Sorten zur Auswahl angeboten werden und nicht nur ein Gin aus dem unteren Preissegment vorhanden ist.
Das sind alles Kleinigkeiten, dass ist mir bewusst, aber in der Summe sind die dann doch etwas zu viel für meinen Geschmack.
Fazit, dass Hotel ist keinesfalls ein «Leading Hotel of the World» und hat kein 5 Sterne verdient.
Dafür ist der Preis dann doch zu heftig. Wir werden nicht wieder kommen, da bekommen wir für das gleiche Geld in einem anderen 5* Hotel deutlich mehr geboten.

Great location if you are looking for a Times Square hotel. It’s is located at 42^nd and Broadway at the front of Times Square.
The service could have been better. The valet killed the battery on my vehicle and it was left sitting out front of the hotel for hours. The housekeeping staff failed to turn down the room twice during our 3 night stay.
The rooms are nice and are very clean. The bathroom is full of complementary toiletries and the free water and soda in the mini bar is a nice touch.
Expect to pay about $ 50+ per night to park your car if you chose to drive in. The roof top bar is very nice and has a great view of Times Square.
Easy walk or Subway to anywhere.

I thought «do I really want to stay in Times Square?»
I’m glad I did and the Knickerbocker was a great choice! Fresh clean lines throughout the Hotel and a very focused effort on utilizing the space very efficiently. We loved our room. 3 people (my wife my 14 year old son and I) never bumped into each other in the moderate sized room.
The café was perfect for our needs and the rooftop bar 21^st Century +.
We will return

Excellent place to stay in the heart of Times Square. Good size room at a reasonable price considering its location. Also, surprisingly quiet for the location and with the blackout shades you don’t have to worry about excess light. Everything in the room is modern. You can skip the restaurant (separate review). We never made it up to the rooftop bar but there seemed to be loads of folks going up there every night. The subway stop is steps away. I would stay here again.

Great hotel staff who meet all of our accommodations for a large group a few weekends ago. We experienced a little bit of everything this hotel had to offer. Roof top party! Would be great for a wedding or a celebration of all kinds. Every night the food was cook to perfection. Ricardo and his staff receive 5 stars!

camparing to some others nyc hotel, its quite roomy, and with pretty modernized facility. love all the complimentary cleaning kits and drinks (mini bar). I had experienced five stars hotel hving no free stuff, this four stars hotel is far better and surprised me a lot!
just a tiny critics, the door is thin and we can hear ppl outside in the hall way, and also, no earlier check-​in (before 3PM) accepted (was saying no room available at 2:40PM when we arrived lolz)

Excellent dining and room.
The hotel has a flavored history and attitude.
Once I was in NYC, I know I am staying local instead of those chain hotels and restaurants.
This one will remind you of NYC of the good old time. Just like the feeling of Titanic movie.
