This place is lovely. The staff are warm and friendly and I was thrilled to find they offer avocado on toast — and on gluten free bread! We will definitely be back. If you’re looking for a laid-back, friendly place for a weekend brunch definitely hit up The Louise.

This place was great a few months ago, but since management seemed to have changed the menu and took off allot of foods that was the reason we came, I will be finding a new go-to spot. I spoke to the manager on Thursday night, and when I brought up that my husband and I came during the week and every weekend but since they changed the menu we didn’t really like new food she bluntly told me «well, the food is not for everyone.» It was a sad response from a manger and the fact that we have been loyal customers for so long. But oh well, I sense another UES closing. I do think the manager was rude and sadly my husband and myself and our friends that went there every weekend won’t be coming back. I think she may need customer service training.

I remember going to Louise during its opening week. Even though their menu has changed to a more Orwasher’s-bread themed menu(which is great), they know how to create a great collective on their menu! Must haves: The Carm Kale Cobb Salad Sweet Lou Cauliflower Flatbread Their menu is great to get something new every time you go, and GREAT prices. So thankful it’s just around the corner. Much love!

Great spot for brunch in Yorkville. It was a Sunday morning quickly approaching afternoon earlier this month(4÷3÷16), so my friends and I were in full brunch mode. We decided to check out The Louise, which now stands where Yorkville Creperie once resided. We were pleasantly surprised with our experience. The restaurant has a welcoming setup, including a large bar on one wall and table seating throughout. The atmosphere was casual and laid-back, which is exactly what we wanted. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He also did an excellent job of accommodating several requests for menu item substitutions. This was greatly appreciated. The drink menu featured some standard options(wine, mimosas, bloody mary) and had a good selection of draft and bottled beers. There is also a full bar if you choose to create some other alcoholic concoction. They offered a legitimate brunch special called the«All in Brunch,» which included five drinks for $ 25. We had five people at the table so that was a no-brainer. The food menu was very appetizing, and it was hard to narrow down an option to call my meal. I went with the«Geez Louise,» and it was awesome. This sandwich featured habanero jack, bacon, grilled chicken, avocado, tomato chile-jam, and rosemary aioli on sliced challah. Others in my group enjoyed the pretzel croissant bacon, egg, and cheese served with Pork Roll(AKA«Jersey Style»), and the green eggs & ham benny. I definitely recommend checking it out for brunch if you are in the area, and I look forward to coming back again soon!

Great place. Neighborhood feeling place, which despite being related and owned by the same people as the questionable saloon next door, is rather relaxed and of a local flavor. Great brunch and dinner options, the meatball grilled cheese is it. Recommend.

Nice spot on the Eastside to enjoy Sunday Brunch, but nothing to say Wow about. I had the French Toast, which was good but just basic French Toast. They have different flavor mimosas to enjoy which is nice, and TVs to enjoy whatever game is on. Friendly staff and good food, kids menu and nice décor.

I always enjoy coming here. Yorkville seriously lacks places like this, which have a near downtown feel. Live music night is particularly fun. I hope it does well.

Popped in here around 2pm for a quick brunch and some football. Pretty busy with a big group but easily found a spot at the bar. Put in our drink/food orders — drinks came quickly but the food did not. 45 minuets and a shift change later the new bartender asked if we had ordered food. Reordered and our food came out, but you could tell they had put this together quickly and the quality suffered. Pretty basic sandwich you could most likely recreate at home or get at the diner a few blocks north. Thankfully they either comped or forgot which tab our drink were on as a mea culpa — I’m going to assume the latter. Net/net: good for drinks but stay away from the food.

Waited over an hour at the table for eggs and a BLT. One stop by the table about 35 min in to say it will be ready soon. Got a «sorry» at the end when we said we were done waiting 1 hour +. Left hungry and disappointed.

The Louise was great! The bartender was super cool and the drinks weren’t too expensive. The playlist was awesome, too.

The best brunch in the neighborhood! The berry butter french toast is unreal and I can’t stop ordering it… We’ve taken friends and family here and it’s always a hit. Drinks are well mixed and the staff is always friendly.

This place is a gem on the UES. Came in on a Thursday and they had live music +1 The Avo fritters were underwhelming and $ 9. Seemed like the most expensive avocado I’ve ever eaten –1 The Turkey Burger /Buffalo Chicken Salad were great and the waitress was super nice +2 Would want to go back and try some more things on the menu/have drinks there.

Came here on a Thursday evening with a friend who lived nearby. Ambiance: We were the only ones for a good couple of hours, but people trickled in especially when the live music started. Great performer doing a wide variety of songs. We enjoyed it so much we stayed until the end of his set. They also have a few TVs showing various sports, but the crowd wasn’t particularly interested. Service: Our bartender/server was lovely, bussing was unobtrusive. Food: The drinks are a little pricey but the food is fantastic. We had delectable turkey meatballs and avocado fritters that melted in your mouth. Finished off the meal with a customised dessert crêpe — yum! Overall, a simple, focused menu of good quality and a place I would visit again.

I almost gave this place two stars, but I know they’re trying. Been here for brunch once and I was underwhelmed. Sat at the bar, which was nicely redone since its days as the Yorkville Creperie. The beer selection was small, but solid, and I think I paid $ 5 – 6 for my draft. I was pleased. The breakfast flatbread was decently sized, and had enough eggs and brie on it to make me moderately happy. Ditto with the meatball grilled cheese — good overall, but not the best. My biggest gripe is the lack of side dishes for brunch plates. When you go to brunch, you don’t want to have to order an entrée and a side, it should all be on one plate. The lack of a small salad, home fries, fries, or anything of the sort with brunch entrees is confusing and sad. There’s also no omelet option, and perhaps that’s just due to the small menu offering. I understand the restaurant’s kitchen isn’t huge, but if you’re going to offer brunch, you should meet some minimum requirements. That being said, the service was nice. It was quiet, and they had the front windows open(I went in late fall). I’m hoping they step it up just a bit, because York Ave needs a place like this to survive and thrive.

In my opinion, this place is absolutely great. I arrived alone(waiting for friends to arrive) and my waiter was extremely friendly and cool, so I didn’t feel awkward at all. They had a great blend of some more basic and some more unique options on the menus. Food was great with a nice presentation. On another occurrence, I had seen the manager go extremely far out of his way to help someone who he knew was not even a customer, just for the sake of helping out a local. Made me proud to be part of this neighborhood.

I come to The Louise about once a week for drinks. The bartender is super nice and they have a decent drink menu. It is cozy and has a dive bar feel to it, which I like. If you are looking for a chill place to have a couple of drinks you should check out The Louise! Oh and if you are a hummus fan their hummus is hands down AMAZING. Maybe because the only time I have it is when I am drunk, but seriously it is so good. TRYIT!

Stopped in for an impromptu dinner with some friends last night & really enjoyed my experience. My friends had been here a few times since they opened but I never heard of it nor would I have discovered it on my own as I don’t walk up York Ave all that often & I wasn’t familiar with the Creperie establishment that resided here before. For a Saturday night @ prime dinner of 8pm, there were very few people there to my surprise. Only another seated table aside from us, and later another group of 3 came in. Our server Matthew did a great job. Very friendly & made some good dinner recommendations. The menu is not big which is nice as you don’t have to deal with an overwhelming plethora of options. Most of the table ordered fish tacos and I went with my friend’s recommendation & ordered the Kale Cobb salad. The salad was very hearty with chunks of chicken, bacon, blue cheese, tomatoes and an egg & avocado sliced on top. The dressing was very tasty as well — the dish was a good sized plate for $ 14. There are about 6 – 8 draft beers on tap and their cocktails are pretty yummy too(tasted from my friends). The one thing that disturbed me about this restaurant: the music. Awful song selections! As though someone got ahold of my high school CD stash. Blink 182, random hip hop, just awful… I would definitely suggest upping the anti on the music here — we found ourselves talking about the horrendous music choices quite often throughout the night. If the lights were dimmed a bit more and if the music played wasn’t so outdated, this spot could have great potential. Looking forward to trying some of their dessert crepes next time!

So much potential but so much disappointment. I used to really enjoy this place when it was the Yorkville Creperie. My gal and I liked coming here to enjoy the great food and ambiance. It had a cozy and homey feel with a touch of class as this is a nice neighborhood along York Ave it resides in. I was excited to check out the new Louise as it was reinvented to be more of a craft cocktail and beer bar. Well, Louise didn’t live up to her profile. It’s like going on a Match .com date only to discover the person you are meeting fudged her profile pic and makes you want to escape through the bathroom window. I arrived here with a few friends this past Saturday evening. It was kind of awkward walking into a dead empty bar after 9pm. Only other person in here was an older woman watching the college football game on the flat screen above the bar. The din of silence was occasionally broken when she cheered a score. That, and when the adjacent door inside let in the loud music and people partying at the attached bar next door over and over which I think they own as a club. I don’t know, as when I’m enjoying a good cocktail in a certain atmosphere I don’t want to hear that. Oh, and what the heck was the weird music they had playing in here? Kind of new age something or other crappiness. Play some classic rock. Mix in some old prohibition era music. Tunes that reflect the look and feel of the place and drinks being served. As for the cocktail list it’s not too bad. Some nice options to choose from but at $ 14 a drink all the way over here on York they had better be outstanding. My friend ordered one and was kind of surprised that the glass was only half full. It was like the bartender forgot to pour the rest. The beer list was passable, as the craft offerings didn’t do much for me. Most in the $ 7-$ 9 range. With only about eight options and one being Dales Pale Ale, it left me scratching my head. Also, considering that it was dead the bartender could have been friendlier and chatted with us a bit. Asked us what we liked, where we’re from, etc. Maybe offer drink and food suggestions. We’re nice folks. We don’t bite! I do like the look of the place with it’s exposed brick, tin ceilings, and retro lighting hanging above the bar. I dug the beer glasses that are shaped like a beer can. Yet, there is a disconnect here. Can’t put my finger on it. Maybe it’s the smell of the cook in the small kitchen in the corner making a crêpe. Maybe it’s because the only other people in here was a bluehair watching the game, and an older couple that looked like my parents that wandered in for a drink. Maybe because I expected a tumbleweed to roll by. Maybe because we felt unwelcomed by the staff. All on a Saturday night. Again, awkward. Maybe they are trying to emulate all the other new craft beer and cocktail bars that have recently opened along 2nd Ave and the UES. Just being a «me too» spot isn’t going to bring the masses over to the far east side where not much else is there as a draw. If they want to keep this as a sleepy locals joint then more power to them. I wish them well as I know it’s not easy owning a biz here in NYC. Hope they work out the kinks. As for me, bring back the Yorkville Creperie as she was. That gal was worth a second date.

I am going to keep this short… And not so sweet. There was no one here on a Saturday night, except one older lady who was very into college football. They had the Ranger game on, which is why they’re even getting 2 stars. We sat down and I ordered an Old Fashioned because their beer selection was mediocre at best. The bartender(who stated he had only started 2 days prior) filled my glass only halfway. If I’m paying $ 14 for a drink, why am I only receiving half a drink? He did the same to my friend, who also ordered a cocktail. Two other friends got beer and those were served in cool glasses, which were filled all the way. I’m still waiting for the rest of my cocktail. Has anyone seen it? Anyone?
