The Shadow Box Theatre

I went to see a Shadow box show earlier this year. It was okay, but I thought more puppets would be involved. I also did not like how an older lady came out on the stage at the beginning, and asked the audience to basically don’t even look at your phone. I would not defintely use my phone during a performance but I have the right to look at my phone. I always check my phone for emergencies. She stated the light would disturb performers. Obviously, we would not shine the light on the stage. I have a three month year old and always check my phone, and I would defintely step out if I need to talk. The show could have provided more live puppets and scenary. There was no scenary just a black background. Puppets really hold children attention.

The African Drum is the most beautiful shadow puppet show I’ve ever seen. The puppets are absolutely gorgeous, the puppetry is exquisite, the music is out of this world. Go check it out!

I LOVE the shadow box theatre. When I look around at what is available for children today I see few forms of entertainment of similar quality and integrity to the Shadow Box Theatre. The Shadow Box theatre is more then just a theatre. It teaches peace by telling stories of many cultures, modeling diversity, respect, and peaceful resolutions while empowering children with stories of hope, change, and making a difference. I grew up watching, reading, and listening to productions of the Shadow Box Theatre and it changed my life and has shaped me in more ways then I can imagine. If you are looking for some high quality, family friendly entertainment, or are a school teacher I highly recommend you look into this theatre.
