SO disappointing! All of the trees were poorly maintained and clearly diseased… Everything else was bite sized and overpriced. $ 300 for a Rubber Tree is INSANE when you can get them around the corner for $ 55. Wanted to love this place because of their Insta account but it was seriously depressing. The mold in the air coming from the pots was pungent!

I couldn’t rave more about this place! I went in on a snowy day looking for a cactus. There was one pot that I saw that had three tall cactuses(cacti) in it. The total was $ 275 or something like that(out of our budget,) so my husband asked if we could have just ONE of the three cacti inside the pot. The wonderfully sweet, welcoming and kind woman who was working there said, «SURE!» — she only charged us $ 100 and she pulled the cactus out herself and repotted it for us. She wrapped it up really well so it wouldn’t get snowed on or prick us while we were transporting it back to our Jersey City home. I was stunned at how willing to help she was! I can’t recommend this place enough. To see my cactus in its new home:

I have emailed this site several times and have gotten prompt and helpful answers to my questions about what to do with my ailing plant. I would highly recommend this site! Sheila

Bought my first ever giant cactus there, amazing experience. I was so positively surprised when I saw it arrived together with my snake patented plant. It was my first time trying out ordering plants online and The Sill is definitely the one to go to! Nice stuff and awesome plants! Love it! Additionally, the cards which came with the plants tells me how to take care of the greens are very detailed and thoughtful, lovely! Will for sure come back to purchase more greens for my apartment! Definitely recommend it to everyone who loves a bit fresh beautiful green in their living space!

They over promise and under deliver. Save yourself the frustration and keep looking for another company. Promise you will thank me

It’s rare to find a store so kind and caring as The Sill. I’ve ordered many plants through Eliza and team, for both myself and as gifts. Every single time they have gone above and beyond to make sure the experience is a wonderful one. Their new store is charming and a breath of recently-oxygenated fresh-air. Their associates are attentive, knowledgable, and understanding of anyone with a brownish-thumb. They worked with me to help me find plants that would thrive in my lighting environment and survive my sometimes-forgetful watering schedule. The Sill is a must for thoughtful gifting and a fun treat for yourself.

Every time I come to NYC, making a quick stop at The Sill is a must. The pots are adorable, and the plants are fantastic too(obviously). I would normally kill every plant I owned(no joke) but something about The Sill makes it easy, and turned me into a plant lover. I constantly get compliments on my plants and pots. More importantly: #plantsmakepeoplehappy

I had a great experience shopping with the sill. I love the idea of local delivery of live plants and wanted to send my girl friend a plant to congratulate her. The plant I wanted to have delivered wasn’t on their NYC delivery list, so I called the shop to see if they could make an acception. It turned out they had some at the shop and they snapped some pictures so I could choose the right one. My friend got it the next day! In turn my friend ordered me an Ezra to say thank you. It was so well packaged and really brightened up my desk!

Update: I’m basing this review on the fact that the owner reached out based on my experience. I’m impressed that they actually read the reviews on Unilocal, plus they offered a coupon code to shop on their site. Original: I arrived about 10 mins before the shopped opened on Sunday — no biggie. I went across the street and waited at the park, the store associate didn’t arrive until 12:15pm when they’re suppose to be opened at noon. I was slightly annoyed but decided to go in and take a look anyways, when I went inside the associate didn’t even greet me. This store lacks customer service and promptness on opening on time. I probably would not recommend this place to anyone.

This little shop is such a hidden gem – they stock an impressive array of apartment-friendly plants(read: hard to kill) and I always try to swing by when I’m in the neighborhood. It’s become my go-to for housewarming /birthday /thank you gifts, and I have two of their plants on my desk at work. I would probably buy the whole store if I could!

The Sill is a local go-to for gifts and propping for photo shoots. The team is super helpful and knowledgeable but also let you come in and just browse and soak up the tropical vibes. The Sill is a great addition to the neighborhood!

I have been shopping from The Sill for the last couple of years. My favorite thing is ordering their mini succulents online and having them delivered to friends at work(they make great desk plants). They always arrive on time and well packaged. We’ve also used them to add some green to our office. Eliza was great at advising us what would stay alive with the little light we get. Our plants are still going strong a year later! I’ve been to their store a couple times when I wanted to get something bigger and was unsure of what I could keep alive. The staff was friendly and knew what they were talking about. I highly recommend them! P.S. The mural painted on the side of their shop make for a great instagram ;)

I’ve used The Sill in the last couple of years to send gifts to friends or for work/client gifts(so much better than flowers). Their plants and ceramics are beautiful, but it’s really their packaging that makes the whole thing feel very special. I was so excited when they opened their store which feels like a super chic, plant workshop wonderland! Cool business all around.

The Sill has literally furnished every room in my house. They also furnished my work studio… not to mention my wedding centerpieces. In a competitive city like NYC, there aren’t too many businesses that I can think of as my «go-to» shop, but if I had to pick one, The Sill would be it. Can’t recommend them enough!

Got a couple of succulents delivered from here for a friend’s birthday present. The succulents arrived in very cute packaging(saved me from getting a gift bag and birthday card), and the package was delivered right to my door. Will definitely plan on getting more plant deliveries in the future :)

I walked by this little shop with time to kill so figured I would stop in for a bit. Didn’t expect to leave with a pineapple plant. You could tell the employees care about their customers. They were so knowledgeable and genuinely cared. They even gave me a good deal. Best part is… they deliver! Now I want to fill my apartment with plants — would definitely recommend stopping by this little shop. Support small businesses!

I really wanted to love these guys: The idea is to provide delivery of potted plants in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The price is at a premium to your standard gardening/flower shop, but given the sweetness of the idea, I was OK with this. First, tried to order a $ 300 plant/pot combo online(at an $ 85 premium to competitors) and selected same day delivery. When I didn’t see it by 5PM I sent an email to enquire, and was told it was actually coming in a week. OK, thanks. Glad I checked! The team was great about refunding the order, and I, persistent in rewarding this freshman effort at running a business, was glad to use my day off to ride down to the shop myself and pick up the plant. I arrived at 12:15, 15 minutes after the shop opened, only to be met by what appeared to be a bouncer(possibly one of the owner’s mom/aunt/family member) who said that there was a photo shoot inside and that I couldn’t come in. Disappointed, I prepared to leave, and she asked: «Well, will you be buying something?» I said that this was the idea… it was a store. And in fact, it was my effort at giving them a second chance after an online delivery failed. She looked me up and down, scrunched her face, and seemingly unconvinced that I would buy something said, «yeah…you…better leave and maybe come back in an hour or so when they’re free.» I really tried to give these kids business, and was willing to put my own money and time into it, and they wouldn’t let me!
