Really cool atmosphere – very authentically Irish. The fries are delicious, as are the shepherds pie and the roast chicken. Come here if you’re looking for good food, good drinks, and good company.

If you are looking for a relatively quiet, nice place to have dinner this is simply not it. The service is very friendly and accommodating; however i could not hear what the person next to me was saying nor the people across from me. Impossible to hear anything with how loud and wild the bar area is. Not what i expecting and am a little unhappy

In case you didn’t know, there are about a bazillion Irish Pubs in NYC. I just found this one, and I think it is the best. 1) Location — yeah, it’s touristy/Times Square — but easy to get to, and hey, if you’re in Times Square and want to get out, here’s your place. 2) Interior — is awesome! Irish pub-ish, but has the church vibe too. The wood paneling is abound, the lights are dim, but sufficient, and overall it’s just a neat place. 3) It’s huge. There is plenty of space. 4) Has a pretty good drink selection. 5) Seems to have a pretty awesome DJ on Thursday nights that plays videos from the 90s-2000s to jam to. 6) Try it out. It’s on 39th, so you don’t have to worry about the conjested avenues, and crazy tourists — benefits of being on a street.

Tried this place because it is next to our hotel. The interior is very cool and looks very authentic. The server stated that they brought a lot of the furniture from Ireland. The only negative is that it is a bit dark and the music is rather loud. That was not an issue for us, but could be for some. There were people on the dance floor and videos of the songs playing were on throughout the bar. It was a lot of fun. We ate dinner also. The NY strip was amazing and my wife loves her fish and chips. The server was very friendly and prompt despite how busy it was. We will be back the next time we are in the area.

Whether you sit at the bar, grab one of the high-top tables, or settle into one of the many nooks and crannies of this Irish establishment, no doubt you’ll feel at home. I’ve been here for their bar menu-a bite and a pint-and their brunch menu, and I can assure you will surely be satisfied. I advise the endless cocktail as part of brunch, since it is economically worthwhile, as long as you have the time to consume a few Mimosas, Bloody Mary’s, or Bellinis(included with a $ 20 addition to the cost of your brunch meal). All the wait staff I have encountered here on my 3 visits have been nothing but friendly, accommodating, and welcoming-as the Irish are, dare I say, as an Irishwoman. Stop here and check out the woodwork and stained glass, imported from the old country of Éire, or Ireland, itself. You won’t be disappointed!

Had lunch here today and really liked this Irish bar! The beer menu was excellent as were the cocktails. I had Shepherds Pie and my wife had Fish n Chips, both meals were delicious! This location on W. 39th is very convenient. If you’re taking the ferry from NJ, as we were, it’s an easy walk!

I have taken people from every personality here and they have all been impressed with this Unique Irish Pub! I have ordered several Items on the menu and have never been disappointed. Getting a PERFECT pour Guinness is nothing unusual here. So, pull up a chair and sit for a spell! There is always activities in the afternoon and evenings and of course sports fans wont be disappointed! :)

If I got to this neighborhood more often, I’d probably frequent this place. The greeter, Maureen was lovely and sweet. The servers were very nice, and obliged my lunch-mates request to hide their beers from their boss who was sitting at a nearby table. I had the daily omelette with fries(sadly didn’t get the salad), but it was enough food for me. I had a long island iced tea which was perfect. Down easy, hit hard. :)

Biig and beautiful space — whenever we have a big group of coworkers, we go here for lunch. The food is great, above average from what you’d expect at a pub. The Guinness sauce in their Bangers & Mash is delicious, I’m still thinking about it a few days later! Shepherds Pie is great too, with tender lamb and again, yummy sauce. There was a special last time I went, pulled pork sandwich — also very good. Basically every meal I have had here has been above average :) Staff is very nice, no complaints there. Lots and lots of beer choices. Highly recommended!

Judging from the name I thought it was a Vietnam restaurant. But it is actually a big, chic, modern, irish pub. We reserved an area of 20 people and we got a private booth area at the back which was connected to the bar. It was nice and it was like we had our own bar. Loved it. When I first walked into the pub, I stepped on a fireplace decoration on the floor which I thought was hole, I screamed. Thank god it was covered by glass. OMG, scared the xxxx out of me. Great for private events/big parties.

Tir na Nog is sort of an upscale Irish Pub. The décor is spacious, warm, and inviting with lots of wood and attention to small details. The night we went they were playing great music, with the videos on a flat screen mounted by our table. Bowie, Journey, Joel, McCartney, Jackson, Eagles. We were singing along at our table and it just made the night. They have a nice and varied beer selection. Stella Cider, some kind of hefeweizen that was delicious. But their burger was absolutely perfect. I got it sans cheese, with bacon onions and mushrooms. It was cooked and season perfectly. The bacon was crispy, the onions sweet and falling all over each other. Service was fast and friendly, it’s definitely a good bet if you’re in the area!

Went on a Thursday night aka ladies night and this place was dead. We opted to get some food and it was awful! We had a large group so we ordered a lot of apps. Hardest calamari I’ve ever had Pork sliders tasted like they were a week old Fish tacos were a Bismal All other food were nasty: guacamole, vegetable and spring rolls all gross and now I am sitting in my hotel room feeling nauseous.

We decided to eat here since it was near our hotel and the end of a long day of touring but we were really pleased. It is a very nice Irish pub that has great food. I was there with my brother and his family. We started with some appetizers, the mushroom tart and the spring rolls. Both were outstanding, I wish I did not have to share. Also, I normally do not comment on bread, but they had the best Irish soda bread, I could have eaten a loaf. For the meal, the waitress recommended the lamb and I was really glad she did. It was a very generous portion and they were delicious. They just melted in my mouth and came with some great fingerling potatoes. All the meals were great – my brother loved his corned beef, my nephew loved his NY Strip, and my sister-in-law loved her salad. The waitress was super friendly and service was quick. They also showed some great old videos. Overall, an ideal night out.

Went here as a group of 5 for Saturday brunch at around 12:40 pm. The place was busy, but wasn’t packed and there still were tables available. We opted for their bottomless brunch option, which includes 2 hours of bottomless drinks(Mimosa, Screwdriver & Bloody Mary) and an entrée, priced at a decent $ 34. We got started with our drinks and our server, Jenny provided top notch service. Jenny was very attentive, friendly and super nice to us during our boozy brunch! The drinks aren’t watered down and have a decent kick to it. Our food was also quite amazing. We got the Smoked Salmon, Shepherd’s Pie and Blackened Chicken Sandwich for entrees… all really good and flavorful. Overall, we had a great experience. At brunch time, the music wasn’t too loud, so it was easy to chat with friends and enjoy a good Saturday brunch!

I have been to a few of these, last stop was in Baltimore for a Yankees/Cardinals series. This is what you would expect, «genuine Irish cuisine», with a nice beer selection(nothing too fancy). The issue we had was with the space was our server although polite was just very slow moving. Seemed like we waited too long to place an order after be given menus. Also, the menu is very pricey for what it is. There was some type of issue in the kitchen, which was explained to us. But nothing was done, even a buyback while we waited. Very frustrating but life goes on. The space is nice and I will be back, but sticking only to the bar. The«genuine Irish cuisine» was nothing too fancy. Maybe I have been spoiled by my grandmothers cooking through the years, but something was a miss on this particular night.

Came in for a pre-show dinner at 6:15 on a Saturday. The place was full but not annoyingly packed or too loud, which was great! Our server was really polite and friendly(despite me showing close to ten minutes late… sorryyyy) and didn’t rush me at all. Seeing as Tir Na Nog is a pub, we decided to go for the fish and chips and each ordered two Belgian beers. Seems like a normal dinner right?! Well before my sticker shock of about $ 50/pp, I had thought that the fish and chips were okay but nothing to write home about. And after seeing the bill, I was honestly quite annoyed. Yes, this is New York City, but I’ve had the same exact meal in so many spots around the city and I honestly thought the food was more flavorful and cheaper; in my opinion, this is a typical a three star joint. TL;DR version?: Expensive but decent food. If you’re strapped for time like we were and all other restaurants going to are packed(like they were for us) then Tir Na Nog is great. If you’re looking for decent grub at a decent price in the theatre district, this isn’t it.

This place is huuuuge. Seriously, you walk in from the outside and it’s just a giant cavern. Which is kinda nice in NYC, to be honest. The décor is everything you expect from an «irish bar» in New York, but this place does a better job than most. Also, they have a very solid happy hour, and the app menu, while bar food, is really good. It’s near my office, and I’ve had dinner here a few times. Nothing amazing, but solid Irish comfort food, and the salads are also surprisingly good.

There was an advertisement for this restaurant at our hotel. It was margarita Tuesday!!! So, we went in. We ordered 2 margaritas and a soda. One with salt. Both margaritas came out unsalted and the waitress forgot our soda. We ordered a beet salad to start. The bus boy delivered our salad… Still no soda. We had to tell the bus boy that one margarita needed salt and that we were still waiting on our soda. The«beet» salad was more like an arugula salad with a beet garnish. I give our waitress a D and the food a C at best.

Overall, it was an excellent experience! I came here for the first time yesterday with a couple of friends visiting from Boston to watch the Patriots take on the Jets. You’re in good company if you root for the Patriots — audio for the game broadcast, tons of fans rooting in their favorite jerseys, and even a menu named«Brady Brunch!» They were also showing Barclays Premier League and Rugby World Cup games for soccer and rugby enthusiasts alike. The bar and seating areas were large, clean, and contained beautifully designed woodwork. The hostess was welcoming, and our waitress charmed with Irish Hospitality. Our group ate largely from the lunch menu while drinking multiple pints of Guinness. Food order consisted of buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks, and pulled pork sliders. The wings were my favorite, but all items were enjoyable. I commend the good pours of Guinness too, which is a sign of any good Irish establishment. I’m looking forward to my next visit, which certainly will be sooner rather than later!

The ambiance & dim lighting is more suited for happy hour & dinner, but we enjoyed the $ 10 lunch menu: my turkey burger was flavorful with a worthy $ 2 mushroom addition, and my co-worker loved her shepherd’s pie. The restaurant was vastly empty during lunch on a Tuesday, with a few work groups trickling in here and there. The service was nevertheless warm & inviting. To be honest, I had a hard time deciding between the burger and the quintessentially Irish fish & chips. Look forward to returning with a bigger group for some drinks and fish & chips to share! *Bonus: some menu items have gluten-free options.

Good Irish fare and beer selection in a clean, friendly setting. I pass by here as I walk between my office and the apartment I stay in while I am in the city. I stopped in for a late evening beer and corned beef sandwich and was glad for my spontaneity. The bartenders are good, friendly folks with warm Irish accents. I really liked the interior décor — the dark wood and low lighting makes it feel almost church-like. The place is spotless as well — quite a rarity in the city. The food was good — my corned beef sandwich came out nice and hot and seemed to be of high-quality ingredients. I opted to drink Guinness and Smithwicks(good Irish beer), but there was a decent selection of American craft brews as well. It was so good, I came back the next night! :)

A bar in Times Square, almost never down. But this is a good sports bar in Midtown — especially if you’re a Patriots fan. The bar area is pretty large and there is a mix of restaurant seating surrounding it. We sat in a cove like area with a few TVs. We had beers and dirty fries(because what else do you eat when you’re watching football). The fries were good, very standard when it comes to fries drenched in cheese and bacon. There is a large beer selection. Everything with a great price. The service was also standard. I recommend this place of Patriot fans in New York. Your home is here.

I was surprised to find this place so dead on a Friday night! The space is great, filled with lots of small tables, and generally has a more trendy pub vibe. If you’re looking for something sweet to drink, I would recommend the Stella apple cider. I would definitely come back in the future if I’m looking for a chill place to hang out with friends.

The food was great and so were the people. It’s a fun, yet intimate setting. We got there right before the DJ left at 1130. I had the grilled pork chop and my friend had the shrimp and corn risotto. Don’t get the pork chop cooked well, it will be dry. I’d come back. I had to change from 5 stars to 4 when I realized they did not give me my, carrots or bacon. I ordered it for the bacon… The lemon shock top was good and the one white Russian drink my friend had took her out the game lol.

I love this place! It kind of feels like you’re transported to some old pub from a few hundred years ago in Ireland haha. There are so many cool nooks and crannies for you to sit and dine in, I just love the interesting décor. I was craving Shepard’s pie, so of course I came here. SODELICIOUS! Came out piping hot, and the portion was just right — their lunch specials are out of this world… just $ 10! My sister got a huge meatloaf with mashed potatoes and beans, and that was also part of the $ 10 deal :) Super glad I went the day AFTER St Patty’s Day… I can totally imagine what a zoo it would have been like on the day-of! Restaurant is super spacious though!
