I mean what can I say, I love shopping and bargains. TJ Maxx I’ll make it short and sweet. I will be back, because I love your big Deals!

They have almost everything, so it is a good place to come and get everything in one place. When they have discounts they are the best, maybe even better than Century, but when there are no discounts I will choose Century.
Problems: Prices at the kitchen section, and the customer’s service can be slow at times. If a customer spending 10 minutes waiting for assistance, he just wasted 10 minutes he could shop during that time. And think about hundreds of customers that wait, and get to the simple conclusion, having a good customer service is also for the store, not just for the customers.

My favorite TJ Maxx location I have visited in New York City so far. I went here during my lunch break to check out what skincare products they had to offer and found out that their selection was massive. I left with way more that I intended to buy.
I will definitely be back again when I have more time to shop.

This TJ Maxx is just the right size, inventory constantly changes and they have a very good selection of quality items. Its located in the 6^th avenue mini mall with Bed Bath Beyond and World Market.
The cashier lines move quickly. I also appreciate the central location. When you have a lot of bags you certainly don’t want to have to schlep miles for a train.

This is THE BEST TJ Maxx out of all of the TJ Maxx stores in the boroughs. In fact, it’s the best TJ Maxx store I’ve been to, period. The store is huge, the selection is always wonderful, and I never leave this location empty handed. When it comes to other locations, they are always a hot mess and are always hit or miss. This location, however, is always on point. I am so happy to be working near it again (though my wallet may hate me for it!).

While they didn’t have what I needed, this crew went above and beyond trying to locate it in the store for me. Super impressed. Thanks!

This is one of the best TJ Maxx’s I’ve ever been in. They have a nicely-​stocked designer section as well as the best collection of contemporary and high-​end designer bags.
They also have a great juniors and home goods selections.

Terrible customer service! Obviously disgruntled staff recruited from Hell. This is why I shop online. I came here Sunday evening ⁷⁄₁₉ around 7pm to check out housewares. Half-​assed welcome at door and when I said hello back and started to shop, the security guard stalked me down pay the luggage section angrily, because apparently that either wasn’t good enough, he had a crush on me (I’m joking, hopefully no) or he didn’t hear? Hey, I’m not your therapist. It’s your JOB to greet people and make them feel welcome as simple as that may be, and congrats, you blew it.
Also, the older woman in the toiletries section was scowling and cursing customers in Spanish (my second language) and around 7:20pm went right up to customers yelling at arm’s length «WE CLOSE AT 8!!». Translation: «GTFO!!» The girl next to me turned to me with puppy dog eyes and said «why did she have to yell? I don’t get it?».
Anyway, the deals are average. Cuisinart can opener $ 8, spatula $ 3, polka dot serving platter $ 7, Yankee candle $ 8 – 12, other soy candle that smells better than Yankee $ 6, big bar of soap $ 4, cushy bath rug $ 20, shower curtain $ 10, over the door 10 hanging hooks $ 8, 10 pack velvet hangers $ 6. Section for doggie toys, too. Plush squirrel or bunny toy $ 7, paw print bowl $ 10.
In clothing, a few Theory, James Perse, DVF and other random, never-​heard-​of brands but cute dresses almost always sold out in sizes 0, 2, 4 so forget it skinnies! Purse and shoe section is hit or miss — Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Rebecca Minkoff, Calvin Klein. I usually shop eBay for better deals anyway.
Mens clothing, lots of undershirts, boxers, briefs, and ties, weekend shorts in pastels, plaid shirts, khakis and polos with big logos, 90s style.
Checkout line moves quick, and maybe you’ll get lucky and end up with the dude that checks out everything you buy and sniffs all your lotion and soap.

Awesome store. We went to both the marshalls downstairs and the TJ upstairs. This was definitely better. The same stuff more or less but in a much cleaner and organized fashion. I guess people are too lazy to go upstairs? Or maybe they are just more familiar with marshalls? Either way just go upstairs. The prices are the same anyways.
NB: If you are looking for furniture, the selection at TJ Maxx is much better than at Marshalls. We were looking for bar stools and they probably had ten different styles cheaper than anywhere else.

This is a well stocked and very busy place. I would highly recommend it for folks looking for style pieces. BUT ALSO FOR INEXPENSIVE NYC SOUVENIORS. Yep, a NYC canvas painted bag for less than a dollar. Great stop. worth the visit and time.

This is my favorite of the the tj maxx stores in Manhattan. I especially like their home dept. they have a lot of interesting and nice décor for the home. During the seasons x-​mas, Halloween, Easter they carry a wide variety of items.
I do buy clothing here but I find the set up and layout of the store to be confusing and not organized. I have gotten some nice designer clothes at a good price on occasion. They do have a lot of designer handbags. You can find a great deal but sometimes the bags are scratched up due to being handled a lot or falling on the floor.
Check out is always a long wait.

Nice store to buy good brands with discounted prices. But couldn’t find anything special in my last three visits in this store. As always women’s section is full with any kind of clothes with pretty good discounts. Not a mans section. I hate that it’s prett HARD to find a good style and discounts for mans in this store.

Great selection and wasn’t even that busy when I went on a Sunday afternoon.
A very nice lady at the cash register however in her conversation with me she managed to scan an item twice. But with the prices here it wasn’t too painful.

Come here all the time. And i love the bargains! Just bagged a lovely Michael kors top for $ 35 perfect for work!
But the cashiers… I just had sinea? Sulking queen… so many people looking for jobs why are these people working here? Isn’t this why tjmaxx have managers… to manage staff? That’s part of their job, right?

This is one of the better TJ Maxx stores in New York. You can always find high end name brands for less. This store is usually organized and easy to find what your looking for. Because of this, you must have patience when shopping here (unless it’s early am) because the lines are usually long, thou they move rather quickly. They have a Runway section which host the higher brand name clothes thats not found in most TJ maxx stores. There is street parking depending which street you park on but it’s limited and YOU MUST READ THE TRAFFIC SIGNS so you don’t get towed, but parking on the street is free on Sundays

There are restrooms for customers. A bonus when shopping.
Shopping at TJ Maxx is always a hit or miss for me. However, I always shop here first b/​c I don’t care if I buy last seasons merchandise. Stuff is affordable. It sells a variety of stuff.
You do need have time and patience when going to the cashier’s line. Literally, one line to checkout. Least there are a few cashiers working behind the counter.

Just upstairs from Marshall’s so you can check them both out at the same time.

Would check this out before going to Woodbury outlets.

I ended up finding my famous fragrance here for $ 29 bucks! (The absolute come up!) it WILL get crowded. I left my line to go downstairs because my girl friend told me it was quicker than the upstairs checkout. So keep in mind it will get hectic. especially around 3 or 4 in the afternoon. It wasn’t the cleanest, but it wasn’t the neatest. Then again, what discount department store is? I blame it on the customers though, they throw everything anywhere, and it’s fair to say that there aren’t much workers on the floor do to the line at checkout. Lol! Overall I’d visit again.
