Stopped for breakfast during a blizzard. Food was delicious. Service was great. Coffee was hot! Definitely would come back.

A solid lunch option. I came here with coworkers, as it’s about a block and a half from my office. It was a nice escape from the cold and rain on a terrible Friday. I enjoyed an eggplant parmesan on a hero. It wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but for the price, it was filling and tasted good — in fact, I didn’t finish and ate the rest later as an early dinner snack. The lines, even if a bit long, move quickly, and you can pay before you get your sandwich to expedite your process and save you time. There’s also seating in the back if you prefer to stay and eat there, and we had no problem getting a table for 8 or so around noon.

Toasties is a mainstay for breakfast and lunch in midtown. Pop in around 8−9am or over lunch and the place is packed. They have lots of fresh and healthy options, including cold and hot sandwiches. Their food is always decent, and most orders come out fast. It’s a solid stop for a quick lunch solo or with a group because of the variety of food options, but it fades into the crowd of the many similar eateries you can find throughout midtown.

Great spot for lunch. I went after prime lunch hour so it was empty but I’m sure it gets pretty crowded. I wouldn’t recommend trying to dine in during then because I didn’t notice many tables so take out is your best option. Big variety of cold and hot sandwiches to choose from, ranging from $ 8-$ 11. The staff was super nice and quick. I had the pesto chicken sandwich and really enjoyed it. Everything tasted fresh and was made quickly.

Bad service, great food. Let me start with the bad. They forgot two items from our order and when I went to the cashier she acted like it was my fault and that I was bothering her. She never even once apologized. Once I got my missing orders, one of them was still wrong but I didn’t feel like dealing with her rude attitude. Now the good: the potatoes. They were amazing. The food tasted fresh and the freshly squeezed orange juice was terrific. Overall the food was good but I probably wouldn’t return due to the rude service. Maybe next time I will have it delivered.

They just redid the place so it looks much cleaner than before. That being said, it kinda sucks. I’ve been here for breakfast and lunch and if you’re working past 5/6pm in this area it’s one of the only options. Egg and cheese on a roll: lifeless, bland eggs and a slice of American cheese. Ask them to butter the roll first because if not… dear God… Omelet platter: not bad. Get a salt packet for the home fries. Or drown them in ketchup. Sandwiches: make your own. Pizza: $ 4 for a slice??? C’mon son. I’ve given them way too many chances. The muffins are delicious though. There’s also a $ 5 which isn’t hard to top in that place. Extra salad dressing is 50 cents. Seriously though, don’t touch that pizza.

I’m an acronym kind of person. Sometimes, instead of working, I like to come up with random acronyms to use with my co-workers. After being dragged to Toasties on many occasions by co-workers who swear by their sandwiches(only to stand and wait 15 mins for my average sandwich to be ready), I finally came up for an acronym that summarized my thoughts on lunch on any given day. «Hey Ed, what are you in the mood for lunch today?» «A.B.T.» “That sounds cool, what’s that ??” «Anything But Toasties» The sandwiches are ok, but the line and wait on most days is borderline offensive. I’ll sometimes pop in if I see that it’s empty, but otherwise I much prefer Lennys/Lenwich, Graso, or Potbelly for ease in sandwich ordering. Pros: some creative sandwich options(brie cheese, cranberries, etc), can also order hot plates for added variety. Cons: usually takes forever to order and get your food. 2.5 stars, rounded down because the last time I went, they ran out of pickles after making me wait an eternity for my sandwich.

I’ve had the Sargent Sweet Pepper Chicken Sandwich and the Smoked Deluxe and both were good. They have a hot bar and salad line as well, but most people order sandwiches here, which range from $ 7-$ 9 for most sandwiches. Toasties can get really crowded from 12PM — 1PM so go a little earlier or a little later and you’ll beat the rush.

I’ve ordered from this location a few times and I haven’t had any problems with their food or service. I frequented their now-defunct Union Square location more often during my college days as their food hit the spot during late night outings or study sessions.

This place is inviting from the outside. They have various stations with different kinds of food(salad, pizza, coffee, etc.). Everything looked just OK, not that great. I got a coffee, two chocolate chip cookies, and a fruit bowl. The fruit bowl was decent, but the two chocolate chip cookies didn’t tasted home made. The coffee was light on flavor. However, this place is not too expensive. They have a $ 5 minimum for credit cards.

I came here for lunch and the service was quick. I ordered the Chicken Cheddar on a roll and everything was fresh. The roll was toasted to my liking, the chicken cutlets were tender and the bacon was crisp. It usually comes with tomatoes I opted out. It was a great portion, inexpensive and it was delicious!

I come here mainly for breakfast or lunch. For several reasons: — Big selection of fresh hot food, fresh pizza and made to order sandwiches — Portions are HUGE — Prices are good given its in midtown NYC — Service is fast. I swear I order my sandwich and its ready in 3 minutes Don’t get discourageed with the line. The crew that works here really hustles and you will find yourself ordering and eating in no time. However if you plan on eating inside during lunch hour, good luck with that. Although if its a nice day out directly across the street is plenty of public seating. Several things I order from here that never fails: — Birdy which is chicken salad on a hero with lettuce, tomato, bacon, pepperjack cheese. — Healthy Wrap for breakfast which is fresh egg whites, sliced turkey, avocado on a whole wheat wrap. Toasties is definitely my go for for lunch or breakfast!

WOMPWOMP. I HATE when I get caught this part of Midtown with an empty stomach. Its all white washed and they cater to the 9−5ers in the area who don’t particularly care for good food IMO. The wraps or whatever are about 9 $(most of the good ones) and are nothing to care about. We have only so many meals in our lifetime… and I wasted one here: balls up & cries:

Good food for a reasonable price. The set up is confusing, but once someone explains it to you, you’ll be fine. Think of it as a food court and you’ll get the idea. They do have metal tables in the rear, but this place is more grab and go. As for the food, it’s tasty.

Nice steam tables with homestyle roast meat(lamb, chicken, pork etc) platters with choice of two sides that are very filling. Prices range from $ 9-$ 12 for a platter. You can also get sandwiches made with stuff from the steam table. This location is very busy during lunch but lines move pretty quickly. They also have a pizza station. Would probably avoid buying things like kettle chips which will be around $ 2 a bag for 2 oz of chips.

Toasties makes delicious sandwiches — I used to frequent the location on 51st, but a new job means new noms. Hooray for a convenient location! Toasties excels at hot sandwiches. The Faddy Natalie, which has fresh turkey — not the processed Boar’s Head deli meat. Like an actual turkey breast out of the oven. The spicy pastrami with coleslaw, chipotle sauce, cheese, and huge chunks of really tender pastrami. The meatloaf sandwich. The thanksgiving sandwich. All delicious, filling, and humongous. This location is a bit darker and narrow than the 51st St location. Service is still fast. Price point is great for the area($ 8 – 10 for a sammie). They also do salads, cold deli sandwiches, and a hot entrée with sides. There is seating for 10 – 15 but it is cramped feeling.

Easy lunch spot. Just off 5th avenue before you hit Madison. Friendly staff. Food delish. Love that they have the pomegranate white tea that I love. Like the seating in the back area. Wish they had wi-fi.

5 stars(meets and exceeds expectations) for a great made to order NYC sandwiches and salads. There’s something for everyone here. Though the menu does lean towards healthier lower fat and low cholesterol items, it does so in a way that even the ‘good for you’ items… taste pretty rich and decadent. For this visit, I was here for breakfast and ordered up the ‘Healthy Wrap’. It is am awesome breakfast sandwich. I’m not a fan of egg whites(simply no flavor), but paired with a combination of turkey, Swiss cheese and perfectly ripened avocado then wrapped in a delicious chewy whole wheat wrap: The result is a delicious satisfying breakfast that can get you thru the morning… and for $ 4.75. Skip the junk at McDonald’s and bring the kids here. They’ll like it, you’ll like it.
