Review for 7÷10÷15 This place was nothing like I expected! I got a groupon for 2 people and it was only 4 $! Original price is like 25 $ a person. Next time I will def upgrade and purchase the 19 $ groupon which includes entrance for 2 and 2 drinks! This place requires a 2 drink min. For each person and the 19 $ groupon is included towards the drink min! I really recommend getting that 19 $ groupon because I think the drinks here are pretty pricey. We got a bottle of wine and 2 beers and our check came out to be 60 $. I had an amazing night but wish drinks were a bit cheaper. The acts were amazing though! We had 4 acts and I loved 3 out of the 4! I would def come back! This was prob one of the best dates I’ve had by far.

I purchased a deal through Living Social and later decided to ask friends to join us. Checked Living Social and the deal was still on. Checked with TCL, and they said each couple would be able to use the deal. Someone on Unilocal was complaining about the deal, but where else in NYC can you get two tickets and two drinks for $ 19 with two additional tickets given away to entice you to return? My friends said I «did good» and we all enjoyed the evening. We enjoyed Adam Strauss and Vincent James(who did work the door too) and Sheba Mason(comedian Jackie Mason’s daughter). There were others, and I’m sorry I can’t remember all of their names. We were at the show on Friday, 2÷27÷15. The pizza was good(but it isn’t large; we used that as an appetizer). Dominic, who handles reservations, was quick to respond to my numerous email and phone inquiries and was a pleasure to deal with — something else that is a rarity today. We would go back.

My Husband and I went to Tribeca on the 13th of Feb and we truly enjoyed ourselves! We were running late due to train delays but the host was very accommodating and nice! Although we had seats next to the entrance, the place is nice and small so it provides an intimate comedy experience regardless if where you sit. The comedians were great and each of them had a very unique style which was refreshing! The atmosphere was relaxed and everyone was there to have a good time; the comedians hung out after their performances and they were very down to earth when approached! This is a great comedy club to experience authentic performers, great atmosphere, and very nice staff!

We had a great experience at TCL! I went on Friday, December 5 with my son, who lives in NYC. The mom/son thing was riffed on a bit, as you an imagine, and it was loads of fun. Dominic was great in taking our reservation, too. TCL was classy, casual and intimate. No «sticky floor» gross comedy club feel or vibe. Megan Hanley was a great emcee. Oh, and drinks were affordable, too. No gouging because there’s a two-drink minimum.

no crowd control. they will not ask people to quiet down or leave– even if they’ve been talking for the ENTIRE show. the couple behind me were so loud they getting nasty looks from other patrons from across the venue. it got so bad people were yelling at them to be quiet and shut up– even the comics. comedic level was ok– a couple times the comics acted like they were trying to kill time. food wasn’t bad. this all being said– I would rather have spent the night with any bad comedy flick rather than going there.

This was a good surprise. I don’t go to comedy clubs because like most people in this part of the country, I am way too goddamn cynical to think anything I hear is going to be new or interesting. This was a great way to spend a night because every comic was progressively better or different than the one before him/her. For the first 10 minutes I was there I thought the emcee was white girl wasted, but I think she was intentionally being kind of a cornball(maybe?). Still, every comic after her was different and although some had styles I preferred over others(more intellectual versus a more physically active type of comedy) they were almost funnier during the applause breaks. I laughed hardest when they were giving the audience shit but that’s just because I’m a fan of schadenfreude. The space itself was ostensibly a basement, but it was roomy as hell. The drinks were not great(I just switched to a cranberry juice for the two drink minimum when my Amaretto sour tasted like vodka with food coloring). Our waiter was really nice though and ran around a relatively small space fast like hell. The doorman was also one of the comics and he pointed it out on stage in a way I cannot do justice here. Most importantly, the entrance ticket was not expensive(Groupon, LivingSocial etc.) and with maybe seven to eight comics within the span of two hours you definitely get your moneys’ worth.

Tribeca Comedy Lounge was our first official NY comedy club experience and it did not disappoint. Vincent James and Adam Strauss both made me cry from laughter. Several comedians performed and all were really funny. The club was cute, the drinks were reasonable. I only tried an appetizer(NY budget), but it was tasty. I would definitely go back and recommend.

This is my second time in a comedy club and unlike the first time, this was very disappointing… I bought the tickets through a groupon offer… First, we were assigned some seats which didn’t have a table, anyways I don’t have a problem with that. However, these people have the door open almost all the time! Come on! It was December which is cold in NYC! So, we decide to move to the other side far from the door. The comedians were bad, just maybe two were actually funny, even one of them didn’t know what else to say. So, he start to make jokes from one person of the audience and I remember that this girl was tired of this and she left. The waitress, OMG, this was the worst part from coming to this place. We ordered two wine glasses and some fries, these took forever to come! I had to stand up twice and ask for my drinks. Everyone, at that night, was so angry because of this. Therefore, I realized how incompetent was this waitress, so I decided to ask the check before the show is over, and then she couldn’t find my credit card, she mixed all the credit cards from everyone and ask me like three times if that was my card. Finally, I paid and while I was leaving, I saw how everyone was pissed off asking for their credit cards.

The comedians were pretty good. I enjoyed the food which came from the restaurant upstairs. A little expensive but I’d definitely return.

Dropped in for the 8PM show and there were 7 or 8 performers plus the host. Not a bad night of entertainment. Yes, you don’t know who you are going to get and the performers run the gambit of styles and if one isn’t doing well you are waiting to see what the next person will be bringing to the stage. The nice thing is the different styles you can get on one night. The drinks are resonable but not cheap, the pizza was okay. The place was fairly filled considering the weather. We showed up early because we didn’t have tickets. Don’t do that because the place is not open all that early. Live and learn. I did notice most people there had some sort of deal printed out. You may want to look online for that. And after the show, they were handing out tickets for a future show. Not a bad deal if you like the place.

This is for a ‘livingsocial’ deal I purchased: comedy & food. The offer itself was already worded in a more than unfortunate manner(‘ Two Tickets to Any Comedy Show, Two Glasses of Wine, and Your Choice of One Brick-Oven Pizza, an Order of Calamari, or One Antipasto, as well as Two Return Tickets’) and the experience — underwhelming at best. I confirmed via email and was told to be there by 7:45PM for an 8PM show. We arrived at 7:40PM and were told to come back around 7:55PM. After almost falling to our death in what at best could be described as a ‘dimly lit’ staircase, we found ourselves in a room that would have been appropriate for hobby satanists — anticlimatic, cheap wooden tables, random and careless ‘decoration’ and a half stocked bar. The already less than charming ticket validation gentleman now acted as our usher and told people where they were allowed to sit — and where not. While we escaped his rude attempt to put us literally in front of the ‘stage’, another couple was less fortunate(and visibly irritated). Next we were handed heavily used print outs, explaining the details of the deal we had purchased — and a fun surprise — it was either pizza or calamari or antipasto(very.‘interesting’ use of grammar there, guys!). And it was one type of pizza, not even a choice or any pizza on the ‘menu’. The ‘show’ began and an extremely awkward, unmotivated and offensive old guy got on stage. After throwing a few semi-offensive and racist things out there and making fun(in an unfunny way) of several people(the room was at best half full… so the entire ‘show’ was awkward), he was quickly succeeded by a guy who was too animated and pitchy — and not funny. Then, surprise, the ticket validation aka usher guy was also a ‘comedian’. Well, not. A list of side effects for any heavy duty medication is funnier than he was. And he knew it. Towards the last 4 minutes of his ‘act’ he was visibly just trying to make time go by — and lost any desire to rebound. A lady comic was at least making everyone laugh here and there which we appreciated — but it was still a bit lackluster. Meanwhile, our pizza arrived. The small pizza. From Brick — and, just like at the ‘restaurant’, it was forgettable. Funny how there’s a fine print for everything — except the items they were to deliver to us. It was small. It was soft and soggy. It was forgettable. TheI wine was poured to 1⁄3rd of the glass and ok but not great — and definitely not enough to endure the drama that was unfolding before our very eyes. A wannabe intellectual guy came up, threw some sex jokes out… and then bombarded us with one liners. It felt like ‘special ed for comics’. A guy ‘from Texas’ started off promising but faded quickly. More racial humor. Mhhh. At long last, we had a gent who ‘was on Letterman’ — the emphasis being on ‘was’ I would say. His jokes — lame. Every other line taken from big name comedians — and thus just an insult to everyone in the room. And another mention of Justin Bieber’s book — 5 comedians, 3 mentions, clearly nobody bothered coordinating. During the entire ‘show’, the comedians waiting to come on stage were either loudly talking with another, ordering shots at the bar — or the only ones(loudly) laughing at bad jokes. It was sad. It was embarrassing. I can’t wait for the ‘livingsocial’ survey to hit my inbox. And I am only writing this review b/c the older gentleman from Canada repeatedly ‘suggested’ that we tell everyone ‘how much fun we had’. Given that his ‘comedy’ was not funny, I feel okay assuming he really meant ‘go warn your friends about this dive — and if they must come, please tell them to drink a lot first’. That being said, I have two return tickets that I won’t be using(unless I really want to punish someone) — so feel free to ping me if you have a friend who forced you to go on a date with someone you have no interest in — after one trip to this show, you’ll be left alone forever.

Attended the first and last show at the Tribeca comedy club on July 6th, 8pm show. My friend was expecting expecting to laugh but was instead insulted by Sheba Mason. Her jokes were offensive, stale, and demeaning to women. We walked out within the hour.

Liked the relaxed vibe. Lots of comedians in the show which kept things nice and fresh, also the jokes were a bit dirtier and riskier than other NYC clubs I’ve been to, more audience interaction, which is what it’s all about for me. Food was pretty good too. Solid 4 stars.

The food is good and the atmosphere is really nice — very intimate and comfortable. The standup however was more of a hit and a miss — some were funny and some were just bad.

Really liked the venue here. There’s some pretty grimey comedy clubs in ny, this one was clean, classy and the food great, as the place has a built in restaurant upstairs. Comics were hilarious as well.
