Hands down the best Urban Outfitters in the tri state area. 3 floors of clothing plus a café in the middle of NYC? You can’t beat it. They have a large selection of clothing, apartment items, jewelry, and other stuff such as records, phone cases, etc that are exclusively sold at this location. Definitely check it out if you’re in the area!

I just witnessed a whiter employee/​manager (looked like a manager).racially profile and harass an two people of color, giving them a hard time when they left, as if they were shop lifting, which they didn’t. I will never shop at this location again.

This store is huge! I stopped by for a candle (didn’t want to pay the shipping costs), and fell in love with a grapefruit scented one. Unfortunately, I didn’t see it in the smaller size, so I asked one of the girls working there if it would possibly be in the stockroom. It wasn’t…but she brought back three other candles in the size I wanted that had a similar smell. I thought this was so above-​and-​beyond, AND I ended up liking one of them more. So, I’m impressed, and on the off chance she reads these reviews – you rock!

From vinyl records to animal masks, tons of clothing and sneaker/​shoes they have it all. He even have to outfit like Ralph’s wore in Christmas story (pink bunny suit) for sale. There are stores all over the city buying think this one of the newer stores. 3 floor of stuff.

The Café– how anyone could give this place 5 stars in NYC– oh– wait– they are from Connecticut.
you think Starbucks food is «pricey” — read on.
Morning breakfast sandwiches– HORRIBLE.
No prices posted anywhere– when I asked the person behind he counter– she said «these here are four something except for the croissant ones they are five something” — really?
I said OK can I have one of these on a roll with bacon egg & cheese– she takes to the side where it waits to get on the pannini machine– I go around to pay– it was $ 5.77(?) — ridiculous.
I wait — 5 minutes later I see my sandwich sitting on the toaster– done– but the guy s busy with other orders– I ask the women I paid– can I have my sandwich before it gets cold?- she says sure– and does nothing. By the time I get i it is barely warm– OK– I leave — have to get to work.
Get to work, open the sandwich– it is sausage, scrambled egg like substance and unidentified cheese– besides being wrong it is the worst tasting eggs I have ever had (and I’ve had powdered eggs). I threw it out after two bites.
DON’t Buy– Food– stick with clothes if that is your style.

Who would have known that UO would have an awesome café? Stopped by here on a whim after I tried the free farro salad samples they were handing outside of their flagship (it was delicious). Ended up getting a salad bowl with an assortment of their awesome salads. I don’t remember all of them, but there was a really delicious watermelon one, a farro one, a broccoli sprout one (that looked like pesto pasta but actually wasn’t), etc. Most were vegetarian/​vegan, but there were also some salads that included meat. Also had an iced green tea here, which was pretty refreshing.

I do not understand why this place currently only has three stars! This place is enormous and has literally everything that you even contemplate looking for. The layout is impeccable albeit confusing (because this store literally has everything). Come here if you’re looking to spend hours upon hours shopping and browsing; it’ll be a fun and expensive but edgy and colorful time!

I am writing solely about the café.
If you are a coffee snob, this is your place. Even if you aren’t, you will find wonderful coffee and food at a reasonable price (sorry Starbucks).
I pass this café every day on my way to work. I only stopped in when I noticed the Chemex for sale in the window. When I went in, I found a friendly staff and great coffee. They have some great touches like almond milk and agave. The food is reasonable and tasty too.
When you look a little closer, it is clear that this is all the result of the General Manager, Theodora. She is a dynamo. She constantly moves throughout the store, cleaning, checking every detail and chatting with customers. Somehow, she has created an atmosphere that reflects the quality you expect from Urban Outfitters, but actually a bit better.
It is funny. Getting coffee in the morning on the way to work doesn’t seem like a big deal. Somehow, having a place to go where the people are nice, even though they are obviously busy, you are recognized as you walk in and you get a smile and the coffee is consistently excellent makes the day start a little better. It is simply a pleasant experience. I’ve never had a coffee place. I do now.

Urban Outfitters location near the 34 st. Macys is an amazing space. When you enter the main entrance there’s a café store set up to the right. The floor presentation and overall neatness and design of the environment were inviting and lovely. Towards the back of the store there’s a separate entrance to a very hip and cool hair salon that leave you looking like a million bucks from what I can see on the customers faces. I personally love this Urban Outfitters because the staff is friendly from my 2 visits in the past and recent adventure there yesterday making it 3 visits. I found help almost immediately in the fragrance area. I was greeted by a staff member with a lovely smile and told us all about the fragrances on the table, such as which were the sweet to woody scents. Looking at the numerous sample to smell, found a great roll on perfume call“ROSE PETALS, PEONY &BERGAMOT” it’s so good. I purchased 2, 1 for me and 1 for my sister for $ 18 each. It was an excellent experience.
The only complaint I would have is that upstairs floor there should always be at least 1 cashier. I had to look for a few minutes for someone to ring me up. Above all else it was good a trip.

I was really upset after my most recent experience in this particular Urban Outfitters. My partner and I casually strolled into this location after work one day to check out the men’s sale section and all was going good and fine until she took her item to be tried on in the fitting rooms.
The man working the fitting rooms (with dreadlocks on top of a fade and a circle beard) started off our interaction by giving her a disgusted look right when we walked up, insinuating that she did not have the right to try on clothes at the lower level fitting rooms and immediately pushed her in a room without even engaging with her, instead he turned his unwanted attention to me, somebody not buying anything.
He said, «What do you do for a living are you a musician?» I said «No, I am not.» He then asked, «Well what do you do?» already sensing the aggressive nature of his tone I replied shortly, «I am a receptionist.» Trying to politely hint that this was not a conversation I was interested in having. He then continued onward saying accusatorially, «That’s it? That’s it?.» over and over and over again with me responding one word answers such as «Yep.» I was not trying to get into a confrontation with this man but he was making both me and my partner’s blood boil. Eventually I replied with yoga, «I do yoga,» and he still asked «What you don’t play music? You really don’t do anything else? You don’t play anything?» He tried to say that I look too interesting to be just a receptionist, and on paper this may sound not that weird but in real life it felt like I was at a bar receiving unwanted attention and the pursuer would not back down until he made both I and my partner uncomfortable even though I was continuously giving body and vocal signals that I was not interested in his aggressive and condescending manner.
This review obviously isn’t about the product or overall store management, it is about this employee that thought it was ok to alienate a customer and then aggressively talk to and try to pull personal information out me. It made for a horrible experience in a store I visit pretty constantly and it’s safe to say that I won’t be back because I don’t feel like I should have to answer any questions about my personal life when I am waiting for my partner in the fitting rooms.
Urban Outfitters gives off the impression it is a LGBTQ friendly store, and they should make sure their employees can hold up that standard.

Their Manhattan Flagship store has finally arrived, right in the center of the city, in Herald Square, across the street from Macy’s.
This is a 3-​story mega-​Urban Outfitters!
First off, it’s connected to a Intelligentsia coffee shop. So GUYS, DO NOT FRET. YOUR LADY CAN SHOP ALL SHE WANTS, AND YOU CAN JUST CHILL IN ONE OF THE MANY SEATS. Granted, you’re done with your shopping on the second floor.
Secondly, can we take a moment to appreciate their massive makeup, cosmetic section that they’ve got on the ground floor? They’ve got everything from Korean makeup to Korean cosmetics, to Stila, to Mario Badescu, to Anastasia Beverly Hills… to dry shampoo and nail polishes. Their makeup/​cosmetic section is going to cost me the big bucks.
Let’s just say this– Any and all «Online only» items you see on their website, you’ll most likely find in this flagship. Everything from sale shoes, to bikinis, to books, to makeup, to the smallest trinkets.

Wow.
This Urban is unbelievable. 3 floors.

Großer Store mit Damen-​, Herren-​Bekleidung, Accessoires, Büchern, technischen Geräten, Make up, … Vom Nagellack rate ich ab, der verfärbt sich und blättert schon am ersten Tag ab.

This is the biggest UO store in NYC and everything about is just hipstery. Just to make things clear, I don’t consider myself a hipster but I do embrace certain hipster fashion and lifestyle and UO allows me to explore that without trekking to Williamsburg. The only thing that irks me about UO are their prices for cheaply made products, which is why I always wait until they go on sale. Now let’s explore this hipsterdom one floor at a time.
Ground Level: The entrance is deceptively small but when you walk in, the amount of space will amaze you. On your right hand side is the annex coffee shop called Intelligentsia. Their coffee is definitely on the expensive side but it comes with quality. This ain’t no Starbucks. On to your left hand side is a carefully curated selection of vintage items which are known as Urban Renewal. This is for all those who love vintage odds and ends (including myself) but I do question the «vintage» clothes they get. They say they get it from local estate and yard sales but some of their items look rather new or reproduced. Keep walking straight towards to the back and you will pass by their vinyl record collection, prescription glasses, beauty products, and their own work out apparel brand, «Without Walls.» I’m particularly drawn to their beauty section (of course) because they actually sell Korean beauty brands like THEFACESHOP, Tony Moly, and SkinFood. Within the beauty department, they even set up a hair salon, which looks quite nifty. I don’t what the price points are but I’m sure it’s not cheap.
Second Level: The second floor includes the women, house and home, and shoe departments. It’s a lot to explore but the layout of this place makes it easy on the eye. I usually head straight back to the sale section, which is also very neatly stocked. Unlike other UOs, they have a nice and pristine stock of sale items. They are not mangled on the floor or in between hangers and I usually see a staff monitoring that area to keep things organized. Their house and home collection is a bit of a disappointment for me because a) they never go on sale and b) I think the designs are tailored to more of a dormitory lifestyle than a grown-​up apartment. But I can’t even imagine spending that kind of money during my dormitory days. I’m also not terribly impressed with their shoes but this store does have the biggest selection compare to the other ones. I think the only pair of shoes I ever bought from UO were a pair of TOMS when they were just twenty something dollars back in the days. Now it’s $ 48. Thank you inflation!
Lower Level: The men’s section doesn’t get as much décor ambiance as the other two floors for apparent reasons. But I do like perusing through their stuff once in a while in hopes of finding something that my husband would like to wear. It took me a while to convince my husband to wear a plaid looking shirt so this place may be a long shot for him.
Overall, I love this UO store for its layout and ease of exploring quirky things as they are known for.

I have a problem rating this store. I feel when I walk into a store I should not see falling apart beams and unfinished wood. The floors look they were used in many places before. Maybe they do this to make the clothes look better, but I can’t even look at the clothes here. Do they expect me to take them seriously? It’s not like the prices are cheaper since they decided against finishing the store properly. #disgusted

This is a crazy fancy Urban, carrying everything from bundles of sage to one of a kind vintage pieces (at high markups… think $ 300+ for a Mexican embroidered dress). While I wouldn’t go here for great deals, it does have a cool mix of NY-​centric/​for the tourists items, including hip guidebooks, as well as Bohemian chic wares. I live in LA and loved seeing a tiny piece of Hollywood in the store– a section of Amoeba Records. And Intelligentsia is right next door– so Silver Lake! If you’re in this touristy area and want to do some browsing while sipping coffee, this is your new jam.

I am typically not an UO shopper they generally don’t have anything that is my style… But let me tell you how pleased I was with the service I received here!
The store is well organized and well stocked-​and it is ginormous!!! 3 levels of shopping!
I wanted a certain dress that I found online but I needed to try it on first but I was having a difficult time funding it here in Chicago-​so I called this Herald Square location and everyone on the phone to when I actually picked up the dress were so stink in’ nice!
The woman who I spoke to on the phone was able to locate the dress and asked what size I needed when I said I wasn’t sure on the size she must have been looking at the site and she said she could pull 2 different sizes for me.
When I actually got to the store in NYC I went to a gentleman and he told me exactly where to go with a nice smile-​then when I went yo try it on the fitting room attendant was so nice! Even at checkout the woman who rung me up was so nice and made very nice chat not too much not cold… she was awesome!!!
I wish they had more styles I liked!!! I would come here all the time to shop!
Great people in a well maintained store! Come on in and get your style on!

I had a great time in this store. It started out by walking in a laughing in surprise of the funny 70’s sculptures! I then made this nice guy Curt that works there laugh! So we were all laughing over these silly sculptures.
Since I was juiced up from happy hour I thought it a great time to impulse buy a Fuji instant camera! I got lucky and bought the last light blue one they had. Holly and Vanessa were so helpful and Hilarious! This adorable Puerto Rican gal was so sweet and had some fresh blonde locks. Holly knows her cameras which was a huge relief. And so f***ing patient! I felt like I may have been making things confusing but she stayed cool as a cucumber. It made me feel good about spending money at Urban. The store looked amazing too. And had this awesome yoga/​athletic department. And a separate record dept also. Bravo and keep up the great service.

This UO is great! Haters can go elsewhere. If you want to rail on hipsters, and UO generally and its markups and indie design rip-​offs, you may. This review instead comments on the particular location and concept of this month-​old Big Urban Apple Outfitters, which brings space to breathe and an Intelligentsia Coffee to Herald Square.
I’m happy to browse here; it’s spacious, clean and organized. If I actually wanted something I would probably order it from elsewhere online to skip the markup. It’s the biggest UO in the world, and Urban’s attempt at answering to Macy’s across the way, I suppose.
The loft and its various boutiques within (such as prescription eyeglasses, Korean cosmetics, Frye shoes, Baggu, sunglasses, outdoor/​active gear) are well laid out.
The only thing I question here… Is the partnership with Hairroin, a salon whose concept is probably not the most tactful during an actual heroin epidemic. BUT, their stylists are incredible, and if you are looking for some newness & edge, or badass GoT braids or Victory Rolls, you’ll get it here. Whatever you think is impossible with your type of hair – they can achieve. They do hair good.
Enter UO through Intelligentsia whose seats are always occupied. Game plan: Bring coffee all the way back to the counters (with AC outlets and WiFi) where UO’s books live, and work to UO’s playlist.

The biggest UO as of right now. Maybe fancier? Has a vintage section where everything is too expensive to be UO. Has a café — hence a concept store. Also the sale section can be neglected because the store is new and the sale section is packed with a few styles in huge quantities. (Btw this is given that it just opened. If you’re reading this in 2015 and later this won’t apply. Haha)
4 star because it’s great to have an UO in this hood.

And just like that, Urban Outfitters is smack in the middle of Herald Square… well, kind of right above it, but whatever.
This place is massive: Concrete floors, dress forms and bored employees abound!
What separates this from the other Urban Outfitters is the size alone. The first floor is great, it pulls you in with women and men’s wear. There are small «shops» abound, like a vintage section, where you can buy a top that was found just for you from a tag sale for just $ 50. Thanks Urban.
Further back is an LP section, with the latest and not so latest selection of vinyl. They even have a guitar in a box so maybe you too could one day have your LP in Urban. There’s a beauty section, like Sephora, with bright, bright nail polish (no reds or dark colors here) and fun makeup.
This place has something for everyone, as there is an outdoorsy– workout section with fancy fun workout gear and clothing. Right next to that is a fun book section, with fancy pants art books.
Didn’t get the chance to explore the rest of it yet, including the downstairs and upstairs, but I’ll be back!
