UYE: Throw It Up or Throw Up

Unilocal enthusiasts deoroop and chris d. know how to do it right. Starting at rudys was the best idea ever. Good crowd showed up for this challenging yet exciting bar crawl. A neat surprise was the jack o spades game to win some free liquor! Throw it up and throw it up again for deoroop and chris for hosting this UYE.

Thanks to Chris D. and Deoroop M. for a throw it up, throw it up, shots shots shots shots, clique clique fun-​filled Friday night UYE. We started off at Rudy’s Bar & Grill and then made our way to other equally awesome dive bars within the area. Where card games, free prizes, a lot of alcohol (shots!), and awesome people are involved, good times were in store. I managed to survive a few hours in and ??? mysterious beers and shots later. So, really guys, when is the next UYE?

Awesome time at Chris D. and Deoroop M.‘s first UYE. Big turnout of Unilocalers. Met great peeps IRL that I was already Unilocalmigos with like Lily C., Nicki L., Jennifer H. and caught up with the regulars like Ryan F.
With Unilocal cards on hand, there was a sweepstakes game to pull the jack of spades out of the deck, congrats Lily! The prize? Wouldn’t you like to know?
First stop at Rudy’s was great and my 2^nd fave as we took over the entire back area of the bar that has seating for large groups. Got the free hotdogs when the hunger started to creep up for many. Played tunes from the juke like Red Hot Chili Peppers, definitely a blast. Billymark’s West was my top one because they had a lot of space with pool and they served up mixed drinks in a mug. How awesome is that!
Looking forward to the next UYE from this duo.

What an awesome UYE! With a list of bars in hand, prizes to hand out, and many shots to take, Chris D and Deoroop M did not disappoint with their first UYE.
Started off at Rudy’s — oh, free hot dogs? Another shot? Sure! And wait… I win something if I pick the Jack of Spades? Yes! First try — I won! What did I win, you ask? Anything to my desire of course! Oh and a bottle of JD Tennessee Honey.
Next stop, Holland Bar for dirt cheap drinks (3 shots of top shelf alkie for $ 19!!!). There were a few more stops in between but the night ended at No Idea. Name of the day was Emily and as tempted as I was to pretend to be Emily, I was pretty dunzo.
Thanks Chris and Deo for hosting such a fun event! You know it was a good time when you spend all of the next day in bed recovering! Not that I did… maybe.

Even though I didn’t pull the jack of spades and win a free bottle of liquor (awesome unexpected contest by the way!) I had a great time last night!
A bunch of us Unilocalers started at Rudy’s in Hell’s Kitchen and worked our way southeast, hitting a hodgepodge of planned out bar stops along the way. My favorite of the crop was Pioneers, a classy joint that reeked of buttered popcorn and had life sized Jenga games in the back. Coupled with comfy couches, even more board games (backgammon anyone?) and movies playing on their big screen, and I’ve got myself a solid bookmark in the area!
