These guys came to Electric Zoo Festival and, being a visitor to New York, had to try them. Went there twice over the course of the weekend. First time, had a personal round pizza. It has a thin, cracker-like crust and the sauce is quite delicious. However, I do agree with the other reviewers that the cheese is too light. It looked like there was more sauce than cheese on the pizza. Second time, I tried the Sicilian. Not a bad slice, but there was something about it I couldn’t get behind. Overall, not a bad food truck; probably in the middle of the pack pizza-wise from all the places I tried during my visit.

When I ordered my plain square pizza here, it was ready quickly and the staff was friendly. The sauce on the pizza was sweet and enjoyable. However, it could use some more basil or garlic. The crust was bland. Finally, I do not understand the lack of cheese and seasoning. As many have complained, a cheese pizza comes with a tablespoon of mozzarella sprinkled around a personal pizza. For those who don’t like much cheese or flavor, this could hit the spot, but it misses the mark for me.

Did I pay $ 5 for a slice that looked like public school lunch? Yes. Was it worth it? No. At least the crust was crispy, but no real discernible taste otherwise.

Terrible pizza that’s overpriced. Pizza had No CHEESE on it. Just dough and sauce. I had this pizza last week. Truck was at the South st. Seaport. Do yourself a favor avoid this pizza truck. Pizza got me sick.

This was a solid slice of pizza: fresh sauce, fresh mozzarella, fresh(and thick cut) onions and pepper. That said, I’ve had a better slice, and even a better Sicilian slice in Manhattan. BUT This is the best pizza I’ve had from a food truck.

Grandma slice with sausage is the way to go. Delicious! We had a few differnet slices. Pizza has a great sauce. Although the crust is a little soggy, it actually made me prefer it that way for this slice.

I don’t know what is with all these negative reviews! Working in Midtown it’s best for your wallet(and waist) to stay in and bring your own lunch. There’s just way too much temptation. I had to run to Staples and promised myself I would not buy anything I didn’t need. I had soup back at the office so there was really no reason to stop at this truck, but once I smelled the pizza I couldn’t resist. Originally from Boston, I miss Sicilian pizza. The sweet sauce paired with the salty cheese on a square slice of crispy dough is pure heaven. Valducci’s lived up to hopes. Although, it was not as good as some of the Sicilian slices I have tried back home, It was acceptable by NYC standards. The only thing that urked me was the price. I was originally told $ 4 and gave him a $ 5 bill. When he took it, the cook said«No, it’s $ 5 I’m giving her a bigger slice.» Neither of them even informed me and just took the extra $ 1. Obviously I wouldn’t have objected, but I wish they told me personally rather than just kept it among themselves.

What the hell? Probably the worst slice of pizza I’ve ever had. — Looks and tastes like a 3rd grader made it — Watered down tomato sauce — Barely any cheese on the slice. are they trying to be cute? This is not how they make it in «the old country»… I don’t buy it. — Crust has no identity — Overpriced — $ 4 – 5 for a small paper-thin rectangular slice They should rename this truck«the cardboard pizza truck». Avoid at all costs.

Found the truck at 50&6 Ave. The line was 12 deep and took 20 minutes. Why? There was only one worker manning the truck. Come on, this is midtown! I feel sorry for this guy cooking, handling money, taking orders all by himself. Go around the corner to the Neopolitano truck and they have 3 or 4 workers during the lunch rush. Everyone on line kept saying«for a wait this long, this better be good». Well it wasn’t and it wasn’t worth the wait or the money. Paid $ 9 for two Sicilian slices, eggplant slice and ricotta and meatball slice. Way overpriced, but again — hey! This is midtown! I was on line for the vodka slice. Got to the front of the line only to find there is no vodka slice today. Well buddy, walk outside your truck and put a grease pencil or sticker over the offering on the menu to indicate to everyone passing and waiting on line what is truly available. Actually, all the other food trucks in the neighborhood have the courtesy to do this. The eggplant slice was disgusting. Overcooked. Burnt. The crust is too dense, not flavorful, the sauce too sweet. The ricotta and meatball slice is not bad. It only had two little squirts of ricotta on it, and the ricotta smelled like dirty socks — was it unrefrigerated or something? But it tasted good, if you ignore the fact that the crust was too dense, and overcooked as well. They do not display the slices, so you can see what it good or fresh. They also do not list prices anywhere. Stick to Little Italy or Harry’s Italian. Don’t waste your time or money at Valducci’s. I know I never will again.

Great pizza! The sauce is to die for. I had the meatball ricotta slice and it was heaven. A little pricey for pizza but worth it.

First time here at the Valducci’s pizza truck. Trying the square pie I walk by every day. Got a meatball slice with mozzarella as she was out of ricotta. Very good. Nice crust sauce was slightly sweet and I liked it. Sausage was covered in Parmesan which had I known I would not have ordered it. I hate Parmesan so to me this slice was inedible. Lady on truck was nice and gave me a free zeppole. For me I’m done with the truck over the parm issue.

Well saw this truck the other day in Meatpacking district and decided to try it. We had the deep dish pizza slice. The guy behind the counter was quick and we had our slices heated up very fast. I know this is like street food but still it was like 7 – 8 bucks for two slices which is kind of expensive and they slices tasted just ok.

Like your pizza full of savory sweet tomato sauce?! Then this is the pizza for you! I saw this pizza truck outside Webster Hall on a freezing Thursday night and decided to grab a sizzling sicilian slice that was freshly made. Seriously did the trick! The crust was so crispy and fluffy in the middle, and the pizza was full of tomato sauce covered by a sufficient amount of cheese that was oozy and stringy from still being hot. Yummmm. Although $ 4 is a bit pricy for a square slice, I was still craving more, but not willing to spend more for pizza.

*Overall 3.5 Stars* I saw this truck sitting outside of Trader Joe’s on 14th and figured why not. There were six different choices: –Sicilian –Meatballs –Sausage & onion –Mushroom, potatoes, mozzarella –Eggplant –Ricotta –I went with the mushrooms, potatoes, mozzarella, onions & garlic slice for $ 4 at roughly 8 inches. I waited about 60 seconds for the pizza to be heated in the oven. I was asked if I wanted sauce on top and i figured why not. –Turns out the tomato sauce was cold and the pizza was lukewarm. Don’t get me wrong, the pizza tasted good but could have been much better hot. –The crust was definitely crispy though Somewhat comparable in price to Artichoke and taste is almost on par.

Would you like cheese with your pizza or just tomato sauce? Food: 4 Stars When it comes to slices of pizza I can honestly say that this place is different. The slices comes smothered in savory tomato sauce with tiny specs of cheese drizzled across the top of it. It’s not what I expected when I went there, but I wasn’t disappointed, especially since I’m known for scrapping off copiouos amounts of tomato sauce of a regular slice of pizza. Even though the tomato sauce is good, the best part of the pizza is the base/crust. It’s crunchy with enough give to know it’s fresh and well kneaded. If you are a person who typically doesn’t eat the crust I recommend changing your ways this time around. Service: 3 Stars The lady running the truck seemed to be a little overwhelmed by the crowd that suddenly appeared around the truck and become forgetting who ordered what at times, but as a woman of progressing age she handled herself well. Overall 3.75 Stars My only real complaint about Valducci’s is the price. $ 4 for a pepperoni slice and $ 3 for a regular slice is a little over the top considering the size of the slice. I understand it’s New York City, but it still is a bit overpriced. I do recommend this food truck to anyone willing to try pizza that a little different from what they are typically used to. Even though I hate eggplant, the eggplant slice looks tasty and seems to be a popular choice of the regulars

Best I’ve had. Some say it’s pricey, but I think it’s a good value for the convenience of walking out the door for a great slice. The slice is definitely«snack» sized, but the taste makes up for it. UPDATE: Minus three stars for serious QC issues. The recipe is spot on. The execution is all over the place. The truck tonight was right over a sewer vent. Stinky. The pizza was cold too. Maybe this guy just didn’t get the training he needed to get started. Also got that off taste that someone else mentioned. I’m probably done with this pizza. Way too bad. Seriously guys, focus on the presentation. You can’t be near the sewer. WTF. Good luck getting this product on the mainstream, but you have to fix the problems.

I’ve always loved pizza that has fresh mozzarella stretching fresh out of the oven, but when it came to trying out Valducci’s on the corner of 6th Ave and 24th Street, I had a whole different experience. Their pizza was not filled with cheese but instead layered with sauce. The deliciousness of each bite delivered beyond my expectations! I ordered a regular 8″ slice. Although the top of the pizza was filled with a thick layer of sweet and fresh tomato sauce along with light shavings of cheese, the crust remained crispy without any hint of sogginess.(Who knew that was possible?!) I savored EVERY bite as each one crunched between my teeth and then melted inside my mouth. With friendly service and a pleasing aftertaste, I found myself comfortably ordering another slice within minutes! The next time that I pass by again with an empty stomach, I won’t hesitate to have it for lunch. $ 3 will get me the perfect slice!

I’m doomed to eat too much of this saucy goodness thanks to the truck being right down my block. Doomed. I like sauce on a pizza versus lots of cheese. The vodka slice is solid sauce on a not-too-thick, not-too-thin, just-crispy-enough crust. I did not miss the cheese at all, and I can see why so many people love this particular slice. At $ 4 a pop for the vodka slice, it’s a little on the steep end for me and pizza, but well worth it. Yay pizza!

Food — 4⁄5 Value — 3.5÷5 Service — 4⁄5 Atmosphere — NA/5 Valducci’s pizza is traditional pizza — generous on sauce and just a bit of cheese on top. Of course if you prefer cheese you can put ricotta on it for an extra dollar. The crust is crispy and tastes as if it came out of a wood oven, very nice touch given that they’re doing it from the truck. I had 2 slices with spicy peperoni on one and their«famous» sausage on the other. They were OK but I didn’t find the toppings to be out of the ordinary. At $ 4 a piece, I was pretty satisfied by the amount. They had run out of vodka slices which I had heard good things about. My coworkers had praised the Sicilian slices as well but I only saw the option for whole Sicilian pies and not slices. I’ll definitely be going back to try those next time.
