Went here last night with a couple of friends last night before heading across the street to a concert. We were looking for a good place to sit down and have a couple of drinks– we were very happy to have found this place. The staff was very accomodating to our party and brought us over a few appetizers to try. The empanadas and soup were delicious! Of course, we had to order a few items. We ordered some shrimp empanadas, malanga fries and french fries. They were all delicious and came with a variety of delicious sauces. Their bar was also stocked with all of the different ciroc vodka flavors– our fav. Overall, it was a great environment, with good food and good people. Thanks for a great time!

Came here with the girlfriend after about a year of wondering what this space was going to be; it seemed to be in a purgatory of rotating owners for a long time. At long last, it’s Vapor Lounge. If you’ve been to Mamajuana up on Dyckman, then you’ll know what’s in store here. You’ll also know that that’s praise. Don’t let the Targaryen-looking dragon windows deter you; as neon as it is inside, the food, bar and service don’t take a backseat to the DJ sets. And as one reviewer mentioned, you won’t eat through a bachata marathon.(You can walk up the block to Floridita if that’s more what you’re feeling.) The DJ did a good job of mixing it up, kept it dance-volume but not loud(at least from about 8 to 10), good for loud and impassioned conversation. Which is the kind of conversation you’re bound to have after a 12 dollar frozen margarita. Those cost as much as two drinks because they are the size of two drinks. The same rule applies to some of the dishes; our piping-hot churrasco mofonguitos were hefty and well stuffed with tender meat. Three of them was plenty. We went with the cazuelitas del mar for our entrée: perfectly fluffed rice and a hotpot of seafood in an incredibly rich, salty and buttery broth. We went right back home and called it a night, but the place provides a welcoming environment to stick around, whether you want to dance or keep chilling at a table or the bar. Waiters come around asking if you’re interested in hookah, presumably at a certain hour. The crowd is pretty casual. All around a fun spot. Only knocks: the waiters could stand to either lean in or speak up, and the bathroom has a bit of a splashing problem(the sink and toilet alike). Not dealbreakers, but good to know going in.

Went to this place last night, and I must say customer service was amazing, something very rare uptown. Hookah was good, food was delicious and drinks were even better. The music was good and it was Throwback Thursday so a lot of 90’s-00’s music from al genres… Loved that they played hip hop and Spanish… They didn’t stick to a whole night of sad bachata songs. Hopefully the owner reads these comments and continues to reinforce great customer service. I was totally impressed and happy to see that uptown. I recommend this spot

I came here tonight only to be disappointed. We were excited about this place since we live around the corner. We came in and the hostess was polite and we were seated right away. The menu was your standard uptown menu with a few interesting additions. We ordered the pernil sliders to start which were tasty, but lacked any meat. The sliders were primarily bread, sautéed onion and cabbage. As for entrees we ordered the Salmon which came with a side of garlic blue mash. The salmon was not cooked med-well and the mash was dry as the dessert. The second entrée ordered was their chicken which was accompanied by malanga fries and top’d with chimichurri salsa. The chicken was just as dry as the salmon, not to mention my wife got her food before mine. I waited approximately 10 min for my food to come out. Mine you this place had about 10 people in it and we were one of two tables having dinner. A little confused as to why I had to wait 10 min after my wife got her meal. At the end of the night the waitress left never let us know that she was leaving. We had to flag down a bottle girl to get our check. The South American busboy with slick back hair, who by the way was the most professional person in the establishment was the only person who checked on us to see how are food was and if everything was ok. He should of been our server in all honesty. This is the type of spot I would come to for a night of Latin music and drinks. Skip dinner! Not worth the price! $ 16 bucks for dry chicken and $ 18 bucks for dry salmon and potatoes, not worth it. I don’t mind spending money on good tasting food. But this was just terrible for the price. Came here again on January 15th, 2016 for happy hour. Def has been a better experience than the first time. I still think the food is overpriced and mediocre. But happy hour prices are great.

I’m super excited that we have this choice uptown. This place put a lot of attention to make my group to feel comfortable. The food, drinks, hookah, service, and Dj were great. We had a blast. I’m definitely coming back.

Very nice for dining out. It has a lounge vibe so it’s good to come out with friends. The hookah is good and the food is decent. First time here today. The servers are very attentive!!!

Popped in on the way home to check out this new neighborhood spot… Based on the exterior, I assumed it was a vapor lounge. I was pleasantly surprised to see there was a fully stocked bar and there were food options. The bartender Lena was lovely and welcoming I recognition of us being new customers. She surprisingly offered bites for us to try. The cerviche was tasty as well as the eggplant hummus the warm plantain chips… Sangria could have been stronger… Tip– Kitchen closes at 12am. Will be back to see how this spot develops…
