Service sucked, ask for coffee refill 3 times never got it. Ask for for ketchup, got it at the end of the meal. Food is ok, atmosphere nice. Order comes really slow. Seem to be under staffed, but waitress stands around talk to each other a lot.

This place was great! Cute ambiance for a date night and nice area to walk around at night a little quieter than most spots in the city. My boyfriend and I sat by a little table by he open windows because it was a nice night. We ordered octopus, muscles, tuna salad, steak salad and roasted beets. Each dish was very tasty and generous portions! Very good quality seafood. Service was very friendly. Looking forward to going back soon

Great venue for happy hour in the warmer months at the Seaport. Sit by the open windows on the side and you’ve got yourself a great little spot. One star off for the fried pickles — the breading was too thin, salty and slid off nearly all the pickles entirely. Come onnnn! The entrees being devoured at the table next to us looked amazing, though.

I have been living in the Seaport District for 2 years and I finally tried this place a couple of weeks ago. It’s adorable in there and the service is great. We came for happy hour and the drinks were strong and cheap. We also ordered a burger and fries, Calamari, and the mushroom stuffed ravioli in a truffle cream sauce. Delicious. We will be back. The rest of the food coming around looked excellent too.

Friendly bartenders and a nice, quiet environment. Plus they are part of the Hooch app so you can get a free drink if you use it! Prices are standard for Manhattan, $ 8 beers but the cocktails are a little more expensive at about $ 14. Overall a good experience.

Split the seafood linguini and spicy chicken panini with wife for lunch. I don’t know which was better. The garlic aioli on the panini was awesome. Great experience.

Came here for a Sunday night date and was surprised this place was pretty busy. No wait but quite a number of tables were occupied. A good sign for restaurants by the seaport on Sunday night. We started off with a big bucket of complimentary sourdough bread, served on the side with delicious olive oil and balsamic. I love sourdough bread, so obviously I ingested the whole thing. Then we shared the grilled octopus, caprese and seafood linguine. Everything was very flavorful and delicious. The grilled octopus had a strong grill flavor to it, countered by the Mediterranean flavors including tons of capers. The octopus itself was slightly overcooked but still delicious and plentiful to share between two people. The seafood linguine was also very delicious. The pasta was al dente and there was plenty of seafood to go around, including clams, mussels, calamari and big shrimp. I think what made it extra delicious was the sauce(cognac bisque per the menu). A very simple sauce of what seemed to be mostly crushed tomatoes and olive oil. It didn’t feel heavy at all. A very light sauce with a punch of flavor. Very clean and good. The star, and what surprised me the most, was the caprese. Although typically a simple dish of tomato, basil and mozzarella, the simplicity of this dish outshined all the other dishes. That buffalo mozzarella was stupendous. It was so creamy and the light drizzle of olive oil was perfect with the tomato and basil. But man oh man that buffalo mozzarella was so memorable. It just melted in my mouth on each bite. Delicious. Overall, a great dinner experience. The service was super nice and restaurant was clean, encased by nice brick.

Went there for brunch and was not disappointed! Unique, hot and chic! I had the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes which are a gourmet and delectable! My wife had the Backed eggs which also exploded with flavor and delighted with presentation. Service friendly, fast and always available. Found a gem!

Panna cotta is da bomb! Don’t leave this place until you tried it. Creamy, with a crumble on top and a berry jam.

My sister and I came here for lunch during our trip to New York, and we loved it. There was lots of natural lighting and the tables were relatively spread out. It would also be a lovely venue for a dinner date. I ordered the seafood linguine and the pasta was perfectly cooked. It was chewy but really soft. They were generous with the seafood, and the dish had plenty of mussels and clams in it. The bisque sauce was flavorful and complemented the seafood well. My sister ordered the caprese panini and she especially liked the pesto in it. It didn’t look that big but it was really filling for her. The service here is wonderful. All the workers seem genuinely happy to help and interact with people, and they were timely about everything as well.

Not much I can say because I was only there for happy hour since Fresh Salt was closed for a private event. Happy Hour still had good deals until 7pm, I had a well mixed drink and my friend had a beer and it was just $ 11 altogether, so it was great deal to me! We sat at the bar and the bartender was attentive and about 15 minutes after we walked in, it got crowded. But it was a quaint place with dim lighting.

Pictures of pancakes got me to come here. But I looked at the menu and saw they were $ 13 and it only comes with 3 pancakes. 3 for $ 13 wasn’t that appealing for a hungry me, so I opted for the $ 18+ steak and eggs. Apparently you can get the eggs cooked how you want and substitute potatoes if you want, but I wasn’t given that option. The medium rare steak I got was ok. It wasn’t particularly huge, and while the edges were fatty, the middle was a tiny bit tough. Potatoes were good, and the fried egg wasn’t bad. The coffee was really good though. Get that.

Great service and food. Waitstaff was very congenial and friendly. Came in here for brunch on new years day, reservations were easy. Friend had the mozzarella in carozza, and I had the haloumi and poached eggs. Both were tasty and came out quickly! Also, the coffee is bomb. Apparently they have a supplier that gives them good quality Colombian coffee. Highly recommend this place, it seems overlooked in the area.

I came here for a lunch with a few coworkers. As you can tell this is an Italian style seafood restaurant. I tried the seafood linguine with shrimp, mussels, calamari, and clams. Portions weren’t huge unfortunately but a decent size. The dish was delicious; enjoyed it very much. Prices are reasonable for the area as well. My coworker mentioned enjoying the crabmeat sliders. Other things you should know parking sucks as many parts of NYC. Check in offer pretty good; not many give you a draft beer on the house.

Cute little place on South Street. We came here for brunch and received a tasty meal with a seafood twist. If you check in, you can grab a free draft! I had the crab cakes benedict and my boyfriend had the steak and eggs. We both liked each other’s dishes better, but everything was delicious and pleasing to the eye. I had a $ 6 bloody mary and enjoyed it as well. Definitely a solid brunch menu that I’d return to continue sampling.

Not my first time here but first time posting a review for vbar seaport! So cozy and discreet! Best service! Such a great date night place as well as a place to meet up with your girls! The food is always five star! The octopus, the Greek salad and the chicken on the menu are my favorites!

We came for brunch on a Saturday. I had the steak and eggs while my girlfriend had the Chesapeake Eggs. Both of us enjoyed our dishes – the sunny side up eggs were the perfect texture and seasoned well. The steak wasn’t a great cut but it was seasoned and cooked nicely. The potatoes also went really well with the peppers and onions. I had a bite of the Chesapeake Eggs and thought those were good as well. I’m usually skeptical of ordering crab at restaurants but the crab meat was fresh and delicious. In sum, a solid experience for brunch on the weekend. This place definitely should get more attention.

I love coming to Seaport. Yes, you can say it is touristy sometimes — but I still love it. It’s a short walk from Staten Island Ferry, and I always find photo opps on my way. There are few good bars around Seaport — and Vbar is one of them. That particular day I got a craving for Panna Cotta. And yes, they do have delicious version of it — but I get ahead of myself… That’s a dessert part! I seat by the open window in summer evening, breeze rolling in, people strolling by… There are flowers on the window sill, and it has that old world feel to it. I am basking in relaxing atmosphere and music… My camera sits on the window, my phone is on the table as I am trying to describe to my friend what Panna Cotta is. .Ok, since I seems to be coming back to it, so let do things out of order… I have to rave about dessert. NOW. It presented in small jar, topped with crumbs & most marvelous preserve. Smooth, not too sweet, rich flavor that you want to last forever. Spoon, after spoon, after spoon — it is gone. Delicious to the last bite… Let’s come back to the beginning. Drinks are very well done — Cucumber & Gin Martini was perfect, and so was Caiprinha. Music selection is by bartender and absolutely effing awesome. They start you up with fresh bread — and I mean it, it is fresh. My main course — sea urchin pasta — was rich, with a touch of saltiness that you expect from it, and perfectly cooked. Another place to keep in bookmarks to come back to, in South Street Seaport! Amazing.
