I love Vietnamese food and usually order vermicelli, so I thought this place was amazing for it. But their egg rolls that go with it were unusually sour… not sure if they’re supposed to be like that. I tried another one of their noodles some time later, and it was bland, and really not like the Vietnamese food I was used to.

Vermicelli was the best. Does anyone know if they found a new location and are planning to reopen?

I’ve dined in here and gotten take out a few times. This is place is inexpensive, but very good Vietnamese food, especially phở! I love their traditional oxtail phở as well as their Mein Ga Phở(chicken noodle phở), it’s perfect for a rainy day or when you don’t feel well. Only downfall is not having Thai tea… the vietnamese tea just doesn’t come close!

A bit of a hidden gem because it sits in between several other trendier restaurants along Second Ave so there’s much less traffic. The food is pretty solid, the service is on the ball, the atmosphere is decently quiet with requisite Asian flair. Personally I like the ravioli appetizer. It’s non-traditional but think big wonton… just a good start to the meal. The phở is pretty good in my opinion.

Vermicelli offers solid Vietnamese food on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. There are lots of options to choose from and you can do take out or dine in comfortably. I’m a big fan of the Bun Vermicelli, although their Mien Ga Phở is solid as well. I think Vietnaam is a bit better 10 blocks up the street, but Vermicelli still offers some tasty Vermicelli and Phở if you are in the area.

I have been here 4x. One of my favorite Vietnamese spot. Food is always fresh & delicious The hot & sour shrimp soup is bang for the buck, Cha Gio spring rolls was nice & crispy they give u a lot of green leave and mint for u to wrapped yourself. Shrimp with fresh asparagus in chili sauce was amazing along with our usual good PHOKING with meat balls was very flavorful. Try KING Bowl is huge. Will not regret! Ps. Shrimp chip alway on the table. FREEFREE

3 stars? Are you kidding me? I will BITE you! BESTPHO I’VEEVERHAD. The oxtail broth is BETTER than homemade. So rich and flavorful even without hoisin and sriracha. I asked the waiter about the broth and he says it takes a couple of days to make. Can’t wait to try more of the menu. This phở will be my special winter friend.

I’m really not quite sure what to make of this place. On the inside, it has the trappings of an upscale Asian food place. And then the TV by the bar is on. Showing some fringe evangelical show. Eventually, it was changed… to a modern Guns n Roses concert on another fringe TV channel. Bizarre. As for the food? Well, not bad. For $ 8.95, actually a decent deal. Got a soup(hot & sour was the day’s special, decent). And then a box lunch with spicy chicken, fresh rice. I should be rating it higher and yet for four stars, I’d really want to come back to it. And I don’t really think I will. For a neighborhood place though, it was decent and certainly worth a visit for a vietnamese craving. But the real question: Am I going to hell for writing just an A-OK review? That evangelical show would probably think so.

This restaurant deserves 5 stars. At least 4.5. Everything is goergous. We had the Bo Bun and the beef salad. Fresh, good taste, original and 100% vietnamese. We will comeback there for sure, there are so many other entrees to taste.

I ordered the beef phở for takeout. It was decent but they don’t give as much vermicelli or beef as other restaurants. The beef was also a little bland. The delivery time was slightly over an hour when I was only 12 blocks away, but it was raining so I can’t even complain. Over all decent experience and I would order takeout again.

Attention: the banana pie is amazing. The flan is not. A live blog of the meal General: great ambience, nice location, attentive service. Vermicelli sampler: Shrimp — less tender than ideal. Sauce pairs well. 2.5÷5 Summer roll — Classic, nothing special but good. Well executed. 3⁄5 Chicken satay — excellent combo of more and less grilled. Delicious. 5⁄5 Egg roll — slightly bready flavor. Overall solid. 3.5÷5 Saigon chicken: slightly heavy. Somewhat inconsistent texture. Better with hot sauce. Good overall though! 3⁄5 Squid: really good. Tender. Could have been allowed to cook more for additional flavor — get a sauce! 4⁄5

What I’ve had: Phở & Bun Bo Nuong(Grilled marinated beef in sesame, spring rolls, mint leaves, roasted peanuts, warm vermicelli) — both are very delicious and good nice portions Would I go back?: Yes this is my go to vietnamese place Story: Live across the street from this place — I hadn’t had good vietnamese in sometime and when I moved into the city i thought i’d give this place a shot due to the proximity and I’m glad i did. Lunch special is great you get a lot of bang for your buck based on the food quality and portions. Staff is attentive and nice when i’ve dined in.

Had late lunch here on Sunday. It looked very stylish asian restaurant, but once you walked inside, it was just like other plain Vietnamese shop. We both orderd phở, which comes with lemongrass, lime, some bean sprout and shiraccha sauce. Just average, nothing special,$ 8.95+tax+tip. Not worth return.

I love this place! Been ordering take out from them for 15 years. Never disappoints. The sampler is a must try especially if you’re still undecided of what to get. The Saigon chicken with its brown sauce is so good! Lots of flavor from the lemon grass and ginger. I can’t get enough of the shrimp with Vietnamese eggplant and string beans. The duck is so tasty! The grilled pork is cooked to perfection always. Love their banana ice cream… So fresh and just enough sweetness.

I personally feel there are a lack of authentic Vietnamese restaurants in Manhattan, especially on the UES. Vermicelli is decent, but I would much rather prefer the Vietnamese restaurants in either Brooklyn or Queens. But it’ll have to do, since I work nearby and have an occasional craving. The pricing of their lunch specials is very appealing, although the quality of the food could use some improvement. Their cubed beef/steak is extremely chewy. I feel like I’m burning more calories than I’m ingesting with the amount of chewing I have to do. It says it comes with cucumber, but they give you ONE slice. Seriously? Please don’t be so stingy with the vegetables; I’m trying to eat a balanced meal. Their grilled pork chops are probably the best thing on the menu. I mix their fish sauce with whatever dish I order. Delivery is usually quick. I have yet to try their phở/noodle soup, but as a Vietnamese restaurant, I hope that it’s good, for their sake.

I feel bad. I ordered for pick up and rushed the waitstaff like crazy because my husband was waiting in the car with the screaming girls. Fortunately, they were accommodating and made everything within ten-fifteen minutes as opposed to twenty. I’ve tried better bahnmi sandwiches(takes longer to make), but the spicy chicken vermicelli was excellent. Make sure to mix the noodles with the fish sauce!

Got the L9 lunch Special which comes with pork chops over rice, a salad, soup and a vermicelli roll. For $ 7.50 the lunch special can’t be beat. The pork chops were very flavorful. I didn’t care much for the salad or vermicelli. Both were very bland and the sauce that came with the spring roll wasn’t very flavorful. Considering this place is in the city and for the price of lunch, Vermicelli was alright.

Vegetarian Review: Very lackluster vegetarian offerings. Spring rolls were bland and tasteless. Bean curd with mixed veggies and mixed veggies with noodles were both served on a bed of vermicelli with bland sauce accompaniment. Uninspiring to say the least. Atmosphere was ehh… can’t really think of anything that was particularly memorable or favorable about this place, just a blah experience in general. Mehhh
