So, I take my pizza very seriously. I’ve traveled to Italy and had Neapolitan Pizza all over southern Italy. I know what this type of pizza is supposed to taste like. It’s been Associazione Vera Pizza, which means they’ve been certified and trained on how to make it properly. Being that’s it’s a «chain» it was also very hard for me trust. I don’t like so called chains, because they tend to loose focus on flavor & ingredients. Fast forward. We had a large party and ate 5 different pies. All we’re done properly and looked correct. Pizza is tricky. The smallest thing can change the taste. The water, the flour, etc etc. I gave it a 3 stars because it falls short on how Neapolitan Pizza tastes. For New York I’d give it 5, but overall I have to give it 3 just because I know what I’m used when in Italy. It’s just not the same! Would I recommend it to someone who just wants a really good pizza? Yes.

When I was handed the pizza box I was surprised by the box art showing an extremely buxom chick. I’m not sure why the St. Pauli girl is on a pizza box but who am I to judge? Via Tribulani was around the corner from our Airbnb apartment and I picked up a pizza to go once. The margherita pizza was pretty good but not better than the best neapolitan pizza near me in the San Francisco Bay Area. It wasn’t until we got home that I realized they hadn’t included red pepper flakes.

Via Tribunali is a great Italian pizza place in the heart of LES. Really great atmosphere and food. You can even have happy hour from 11pm until close. Good deals on beer and food– Food: Pizza are really tasty and great. IMO the Calzone was even better! So probably next I will go with the Calzone as well. Environment: Place is pretty small but really authentic and cozy. They even have real wood oven where they make the pizzas! Service: Service was great! They are really attending and caring for their customers. Price: Very reasonable and even cheap if you catch the lunch or happy hour deals. Food: 4⁄5 Environment: 4⁄5 Service: 5⁄5 Price: 4⁄5

Glad to see a Seattle pizza chain showing new yorkers what real pizza is. Remember, if it isn’t certified by Associazione Vera Pizza Napoletana, it isn’t pizza.

Service is excellent and you can’t beat their happy hour prices from 11pm to 2am. Brick oven Margherita pizza, Peroni and house wine are all 5 bucks!

I do think the management has changed as I have seen a difference in the way the staff acts. The pizza is great and so is the cesar salad. The wine selection isnt that great as we tasted a few before deciding on one that was just eh. I must say that the service is not so good. We sat at the bar and the bartender was not very professional. The bar is a very small area. Even though she was standing right there when we sat down, she waited to give us menus that were literally at her waistsids. She instead went down the short bar to get the order of another person while we waited for him to decide what he wanted. We got our order successfully without waiting too long, while we were waiting though the bartender was drinking wine and chatting with the other server. They also ordered a pizza for themselves and kept it on the side. Its fine to eat/drink at work but it should not be done in front of patrons. I would have given them 4 stars but the service needs improvement.

I was impressed with the excellent service at the small, but intimate spot in the LES. The food is beautifully made, and delicious. My friend had his 30th birthday here, and it felt like we were out but at home at the same time. Great bartender!

Horrible service. Soggy Pizza and New management = Poor service with a confused staff! Just had dinner there 15 minutes ago. Started off with trying to flag down someone working there because we noticed the menu changed only to be quckly dismissed with«your server will be with you shortly» because he apparently had to run to whole foods before dare hearing what we had to say. When we finally got a hold of what was our«server» he knew nothing of the menu, had to consistently run back to the pizza chief and other people to get answers. It’s fine if he’s new to the industry, I get it. I’ve worked as a waitress too. But this guy had no social persona, had no knowledge of the menu and couldn’t even handle the only two tables he had. Arugula salad took forever but it was the HIGHLIGHT of the whole meal. We ordered a Prosciutto e Fungi pizza and it was SOSOGGY! If I have to cut my pizza with a knife and fork because it’s more of a soup texture than a portable-bread-cheese-sauce concoction then you’re in the wrong business ! I don’t know what we were thinking to step foot here. I’m from NYC but I sure as hell can appreciate a good Neapolitan pizza and this was far from it. No good pizza in LES minus Nonna’s down on Clinton. But if I ever need my Neapolitan fix I know to save my time and appetite with Numero 28 in East Village. Via Tribunali is a total buzz kill.

A friend and I stopped in this small pizza restaurant and had high hopes based on the reviews. Perhaps it was what we ordered but the prosciutto e funghi pizza we had which looked delicious was actually pretty subpar, unfortunately. I appreciate the gigantic pizza oven where you can see that the pizzas are made fresh, however the pizza was soggy in the middle, had a strong burnt crust taste and the«proscuitto» was really just pieces of ham(!!?). Also, the pizza wasn’t even cut(Is that a thing?) so that made it a little harder to eat also. This place has a lot of potential with the romantic/rustic brick interior and open wall to the street but I’d have to say I’ve had more delicious, authentic pizzas elsewhere in the city.

We came here slightly early like around 6, so we were seated right away. Its a very small space so it fills up quickly. We ordered the Via Tribunali pizza, which was more of a calzone. It has two cheeses but they were separate like one half was mozzarella the other half was ricotta so it would of been nice if it was more mixed. The service was good and they have this Nutella calzone desert I have to go back and try. It looked amazing but I was so full after the pizza I couldn’t eat more. I recommend for quick but good quality pizza.

Are there new owners? I’ve been here many times over the past 2 years and tonight was a great disappointment. Where are the scissors? The carafe’s of wine? The good service? Or cut my pizza! I think the prosciutto on the pizza was actually deli ham. The anchovies were all wrong! Ugh, I’m so disappointed about this. I loved this place. I’ll give it one more try since I live down the street.

Even though this was originally a Seattle transplant, Via Tribunali screams of authenticity. It reminds me of a quaint little place I went to in Florence. The huge pizza oven takes up like half of the dining room! Went with 2 friends and we had the house special Via Tribunali, which is the most modern take on pizza you’ll find on their menu, paired it with the Margherita DOC. The two were a match made in pizza heaven. The DOC was an excellent homage to traditional pizza, and it was a fantastic foil to the delicious house specialty. I would definitely recommend the hot oil. I love spicy food, and I couldn’t get enough of the stuff.

Stopped by for dessert. There’s maybe 5 tables that can seat four and a counter area, a very cozy restaurant to say the least. The older Italian gentleman was very friendly and personable. The nutella calzone is $ 14, but huge and is more than enough for four people to share. The tiramisu is $ 8, and was more cream than anything else. I wouldn’t get it again, even though our server told us that he made it himself with his mom’s recipe(very cute, but so sorry we didn’t like it!). I would come back to try the pizza.

The margherita doc pizza was good and crunchy on the outside but towards the middle was a sloppy mess. None the less it was still yummy, the host was gracious and the dessert of Nutella pizza was gooey deliciousness. I would go back to try other items on the menu.

As my friend and I were roaming around the area looking for some pizza we found this place by luck. It’s a tiny place with a huge oven and a nice wine list. The food is amazing, it truly is. The smell of fresh bread and the sound of festive jazz along with a glass of wine like they pour in the old country all make for an agreeable evening. We were early so it was quite empty, but by 7 the place was packed. I believe they have fewer than 10 tables. Quite honestly I would make the trip from midtown to experience this place again. Try the hot oil, it’s really spicy!

There was a fly in my wine! Kind of ruined the experience. Pizza was good but not amazing. Not in the running as one my favorite top 5 pizza places(or 10 places). We ordered the Proscuitto Crudo Pizze(3.5÷5). The waiter came with the spicy oil(but it was not really spicy, so I got some crushed red pepper as well). The tomato sauce OK, although the crust was thin and awesome and the ingredients were fresh. Service:(2⁄5) there was a fly in my drink. The waiter saw it and kind of brushed it off, just brought me another. May consider coming back for the happy hour BUT at the price point there are plenty of better pizza places int he city.

HAPPYHOUR pizza & drink specials(only valid at the bar, but the place was empty when we came so they let us sit at a table) there’s no menu for the happy hour, so what they told us VERBALLY was slightly different than the one i’ve seen online –$ 5 margherita pizza –$ 6 salame pizza –$ 8 half liter of red or white house wine pizzas were just okay. Fresh, but nothing fancy about the crust… although our pizza didn’t look like the ones posted on Unilocal! NOT really sure why the pizza here is raved about… Luzzo’s is still my fav pizza spot

This is a small gem in LES that i totally adore! not just its pizza, but also the décor and ambience, I can’t emphasize how much i love it, aside from pizzas from DiFara’s and Singa’s, this will be my fav pizza restaurant in the city! Via Tribunali won me over further w a totally cool bar w good wine lists and beautifully hanging lights, totally cute and intimate restaurant seatings w brick walls and an adorable pizza oven! there’s nothing not to like about this awesome place, staffs are super friendly and attentive, thin freshly bake maghareta pizza, cherry tomato bruchetta, and wines! I’m definitely sold!

Cute and small place but their pizzas are GOOD. And the guy is knowledgeable about their food and where everything comes from(My friends and I like to ask lots of questions.) Really reasonable prices, especially since the size of the pizzas is pretty big.(1 pizza and an app can satisfy 2 girls. but we were 5, so we went all the way!) They have good espresso.(I was told it comes from the coffee shop next door?) It’s on a bitter side but pretty good.

Alright! now I have to right a review of this place because I told a friend that I would. Via Tribunali take me back to memories of a kid… I loved pizza and still do… When asked what food do I like. Pizza would always be in my top 3. Subsequently, I have not grown up. Pizza is still pretty awesome. Living in a city like NYC I know that I am pretty spoiled. I love being spoiled. VT is place a romantic/intimate all in one small package. I really like the ambiance of this place. It is definitely a nice place to take on a date. Be aware: minimal seating inside. There are 4 tables that can adequately seat 4 people and they have 2 tables near the bathroom that can seat 2 people each but the tables are so small… not really for eating pizza… Oh yeah! Wished they had more comfortable seats. Your basically sitting on a stool which can get uncomfortable after a while. I have to say the ingredients are fresh and they have a great variety of specialty options. If you are looking for a suggestion – the Via Tribunali pizza is really good, Unfortunately, it is not consistently the same. The first time I was there, the pizza had a was a generous amount of arugula inside and the second time around I could hardly find the arugula. What gives??? It totally changed the taste of the pizza. A bit disappointed to say the least… but it still is a pretty good… We also tried the Margaretta DOC … which was good but was a bit on the soggy side especially in the middle of the crust. Anyhow they have an extensive combination of pizzas that you can try. I would like to give it a better rating but for now a 4 star rating is fair. I walked out pretty satisfied :).
