Village Party Store

There’s nothing I love more than a local party supply store with a ZILLION things in it. Is there anything this place doesn’t have?
I’ve been in at all hours of the day, and it’s never been empty– even now when the holidays are dwindling. Even though there’s always been a crowd, I’ve always been asked if I needed help.
So far I’ve only gotten balloons inflated here, and the men behind the counter always take care in doing it and give me after care instructions to make sure my balloons don’t pop… As opposed to party city where they just rip the balloon ribbon and leave ugly frayed edges.

Talk about wall to wall. This place is piled high from floor to ceiling and piled high everywhere with pretty much anything you could ask for when looking for party supplies.
Seriously, this shop has it all. Pretty decently priced too. The counter staff was nice, quick, and helpful. Some aisles were a mishmosh of things all over but they helped me find what I needed.
I picked up a bunch of Hawaiian accessories here for the upcoming Unilocal weekend getaway on the Jersey Shore. Gotta be stylin’ to party hard at the Luau Saturday night!
Sure, this place is stuffed full with some really good merchandise to all kinds of cheap party crap. Lots of Halloween outfits and supplies still in stock too. If you have a theme party this place has what you need in a pinch, and they stay open late too. Party City a few blocks over closed at 8:30 and didn’t even have anything in stock I wanted. This place saved the day at almost 10pm.
All this and I was even able to play my Powerball numbers here. How funny if I end up winning the big one in the same place I got lei’d!

This store has so many things it is incredible. You can find items to host pretty much any kind of party. The location is pretty convenient by NYU and the store opens until late, which is very nice. I wish I could give more stars to this location if it wasn’t because it is very overpriced. A post card here is about $ 4 dollars.

Got three heart shapes balloons and they lasted very well. The staff was very nice and I was very happy with my purchase.

SO MANY PARTY SUPPLIES!!! Seriously, it’s like they crammed everything you could possibly need for any party — kids’ b-​day, bachelorette, graduation, Halloween — into this one store. They don’t carry much in the way of candy, but they have everything else, like decorations, balloons, party favors and costumes (around Halloween time). Cheaper than Party City and just as good, if not better.

They have absolutely EVERYTHING. I took ages to choose my balloons and I was helped the whole way through. Very cheap too!

I came here looking for party decorations and was really disappointed with this store. They have a large selection for both costumes and party supplies, but the prices were significantly overpriced. I don’t mind spending money on decorations, but the prices were so high that I honestly felt bad about myself as a customer. Items that would normally be a dollar or two were more than 3X what I expected, and I wasn’t looking to spend more than $ 60 on a couple pieces of plastic that I’d never use after the party.
Probably OK if you’re looking for a costume, but I will never come here again for party supplies.

no refund even within the hour! Got 2 last minute halloween costumes for my kids. decided to pay (100 box, no so cheap and not that much choice by the way). asked the guy at the cashier/​probably owner if I could change it within a few hours in case my kids wouldnt like it. he kept couting his money and said No in quite a rude way. staff here in the aisle is quite nice. owner just wants his money… never again.

What an awesome, well-​stocked little store. I was not able to find some nice, simple, birthday hats with polka dots at either Party City or Michaels. But this place had them as well as tons of other great party gear. I don’t know how they manage to have everything but they do and at a very fair price. Thank you Village Party Store!!!

Has everything for every occasion, and i mean EVERYTHING. Definitely recommend, has a huge selection. Prices are okay, pretty good for NYC.

Village Party Store has a really wide variety of party supplies, but I did notice that their prices are higher than Party City, whose prices are higher than your average dollar store. But if, like me, you are looking for something pretty specific (namely, sufficiently inappropriate bachelorette party decorations), this is your place.

Good selection and the owner is super nice and helpful — he even gave us some extra balloons for free that another customer had failed to pick up that day. Everyone who worked there was super friendly!

After searching multiple other costume shops in the city for a masquerade mask, we happened upon this location. It seemed like an unlikely shop given the multiple negative reviews but it was open later than the more popular stores. We were in a pinch since the party was that same night. All in all, the organization was a bit lacking but they seemed to have a better selection of masks than previous vendors. Great priced items and the quality was much better than expected.

For years whenever I’d need helium I’d just do the lazy thing and hit the Party City on 14^th Street. Quick, easy, centrally located. Until I got fed up with the high prices and the fact that you have to throw away the tank after using. What a waste, especially given my history as a quasi tree hugger. Luckily I found an alternate business to satisfy my needs.
In addition to every party supply you’d need, they rent helium tanks perfect for New York City. They’re compact to carry out, durable, able to fill up hundreds of balloons, and **cost a lot less than the pink trash you’ll find at Party City. Pretty much all you can ask for.
**it’s a bargain if you return the rentals in its original shape. If the nozzle breaks, you’re screwed. Handle with care.

I needed a mask for a masquerade so I came here after a Unilocal search. They have a huge variety of masks, ranging from $ 2.99 up to $ 39.99. Most of the masks were in pretty bad condition, they were either scratched or the glitter or colors came off. I also don’t like how they have a no refund and no exchange policy… This place reminds me of 99cent stores scattered in NYC except the prices are not 99cent store like yet the quality is.
If it wasn’t so last minute, I’d definitely go elsewhere. Oh and they don’t accept the 10% off Unilocal check in offer, booooooo.

Great local party store! Excellent selection and solid customer service. I ordered a bunch of balloons for delivery and they came right away to my doorstep!

Village Party Store saved my ass, BIG TIME!
After weeks of procrastination, the balloon location nearby to my event venue in Queens was entirely booked for the day I needed. After emails back and forth of me foolishly thinking I could convince them to squeeze my measly order of balloons into their packed schedule, I had no choice but to look elsewhere. I came across Village Party Store the day before my event, called them up and asked them if they could deliver some balloons for me the next day, and they said if I came that day (Friday) then I could have it delivered for the next morning (Saturday). I rushed over there to pick out the colors I needed — but lingered and contemplated forever as I was being an indecisive girl — put down the money (I also tripled my initial order) and scheduled it for 9:45AM. The next morning, she was no more than 60 seconds late! SO impressed!

–Balloon Saloon quoted me more $ for way less balloons AND delivery charge was more than what Village Party Store charges.
–Village Party Store has a massive amount of other party supplies. A little dusty, old, cheapy and odd, but a good wide variety. If you know what you need, then go for it! Or if you’ve got time to kill, go browse through the organized chaos of STUFF — it could be fun!

Awesome deals on all your party supply needs. While I was a student at NYU, I visited here several times to stock up on various themed events. I was amazing at the value and selection of items.
The store can be a bit overwhelming. Due to the variety of items, some aisles can seem too narrow for you to even walk down. If you don’t need a cart, I’d recommend sticking to a basket!
There is also a great selection of cards there — really unique ones!

The Village Party Store turns into Halloweenmania this time of year. I’m sure it will turn into Christmasmania on November 1. It’s not as pretty as Party City, but it’s still a large party store, crammed to the rafters with costumes and those special Made in China accessories that are just not available at Ricky’s. My friend Nathan and I managed to put together our Halloween costumes at this one-​stop shop.
The 10% Unilocal discount that comes up when you check-​in was for 2012. But we smiled politely.
