I am so glad that I found wags west to walk my dog. It’s an investment but one I think is worth it because Michael and Marixa and the people they have working for them go out of their way to accommodate us and they treat our dog as if he is there own. I love getting my personalized email every day with how my dog’s walk was that day. They also always let me know if they think there is a problem or something we should be aware of. I would definitely recommend them!

Michael and Marixa at Wags West are truly a joy to work with. We’ve been using them for a year now, since our mini dachshund, Maisy, was just a puppy. They were so patient with her while she was still housetraining, and now that she is house trained she gets walked with one other dog in our building, which is great socialization for her! They always send me prompt email summaries of their walks right after they leave, which is great because it lets me know (a) what time I need to be home by and (b) what business my dog did! They are so flexible and have even helped us out with a 2^nd walk last minute a few times when both my husband and I were stuck late at work. We highly recommend using them!

Michael and Marixa were very professional and took great care of our dog, Sammy, for three years’ worth of walks through the Upper West Side. We had two consistent dog walkers during our time (both of whom we loved) and whenever they had walkers fill in, they were similarly professional and caring. Michael and Marixa made sure to stay in good touch via email, report back to us if anything has changed or if something seemed off with Sammy, and generally made our experience seamless. We were referred to Wags West from a neighbor and we are SO grateful for both Michael and Marixa! They are much more than just a typical NYC dog walking company. They are extremely reliable, caring and professional. They have been walking our Goldendoodle puppy since we got him in October. Our puppy needs special attention due to an elbow issue and Michael has been incredible during the hard time. He has been beyond accommodating giving our puppy individual attention and love while we are working to make our puppy feel better!

We found Michael and Marixa last summer when we were looking for someone in the Upper West Side to walk our German Shepherd puppy, and feel like we won the lottery with them! Michael walked Grete himself due to her young age, and quickly became one of Grete’s favorite people on earth.

Michael and Marixa are great and reliable. They walked my chocolate lab for a year and were always very accommodating with my busy and frequently changing work schedule. The walker emailed everyday after they left to let me know how it went, which was helpful. I moved out of the area which is why I stopped using them.

Simply the best.
Our dog Hugo is a total PITA, but we’re obsessed with him and really appreciate how Wags treats him like the prince we think he is. The initial screening really put us at ease, they’re so conscientious and really ask all the right questions, as well as listening to and addressing our concerns (he’s a Frenchie with all the usual health issues and stubborn nature to boot). We LOVE our daily emails from our walker Annie, she’s so funny and sweet! Just as lovely in person too. At first, I was worried about him being walked with another dog, but they’re awesome about that too– they definitely put a lot of thought into the pairings, Hugo’s walking buddy is just his size and temperament, they’re perfect together.
Michael and Marixa are always great about last minute changes to our schedule, and make everything super easy for us with their online system (love the automatic billing). My love for Wags was really solidified when my fiancé locked himself out while I was travelling for work– it was late at night but Michael met him with keys! I can’t imagine better or more personalized service anywhere else.

Wags West is a full five star service. Michael & Marixa have created a business that really caters to both pet and owner.
They are so professional and well organized — from the online pet profiles to a systemized automatic billing process — just makes everything run so smoothly, without worry that the walker might not show or having to rush out for cash last minute, etc. The online profile also lets you give information on certain commands you use or training approach so that the walker can mimic that during their time too.
Cinta normally walks my dog and if I happen to be home at walk time, it’s great to see how happy and excited he gets when she comes in. I’ve also seen them out walking once or twice and she’s so careful and kind with him.
I just couldn’t be happier and highly recommend. Though don’t take our appointment time!

Highly recommend Wags West! From our initial consultation, Michael and Marixa were extremely professional, punctual and genuinely cared for our Morkie pup Theo. They paired him up with 2 other dogs, similar in both size and temperament and we’re diligent with texting/​calling if Theo seemed to have an upset stomach or had an «accident» in the apartment. Another plus, they take credit cards, the automatic billing is so easy. We used Wag’s West for about a year and a half until we bought a house and moved to Westchester.

When I moved further uptown on the Upper West Side, the move necessitated us finding another dog walker. As it turned out, just as I was leaving my building one day, I ran into Michael, who had also relocated to this area and was distributing his cards. He told me that he had had the same business in San Francisco, which I researched online and found many satisfied clients. That was back in 2008, and Michael has been walking our dog since then. He is kind, professional, honest, responsible, and he really loves animals. Currently, our dog is undergoing chemotherapy after a big surgery for cancer and is on hiatus from her walks but Michael has stopped by several times just to see her and see how she is doing. And when he does assign a walker other than himself, he comes with that person on their first day to meet your pet (and you if you are home), and you can rest assured that person will be thoroughly vetted. Everyone who has walked our dog over the years has been pleasant and trustworthy. And he doesn’t do «pack walks», which is something I was concerned about, as our dog is a bit submissive. To our dog, Michael is family. I highly recommend Wags West!

They walked our two toy poodles from puppyhood onwards for years, and when we moved away from NYC it took us several months to find a replacement. We had been spoiled with the best possible service!
