The Chinatown gift shop at 81 Mulberry is officially named Wah Yeung(USA) Co. Ltd. It’s the name on the business card I got with my purchase this week( ), and on the storefront sign(sorry I didn’t get a pic; see Google Maps street view). Packed into a small space, there’s a large selection of traditional Asian home décor items, especially statues and serveware. Lately I’ve been in the market for a Buddha statue and a singing bowl. Wah Yeung’s prices are more reasonable than at other gift stores in the area, but they’re still on the higher side, because of the tourists. I’m very impressed with the assortment, quality and prices of malas. It’s great to have a local store for these kinds of items rather than ordering everything online.

Phenomenal place and lowest prices you’ll find on the highest quality antiques and statues you’ll probably find in all of the US or at least this is one of the top 3 places in the US to buy. They have statues that cost well over $ 3000 here but make no mistake, it is the real thing and not an imitation(at least not at that price). Love their $ 1 items as well and I’ve spent some good money with them and am extremely pleased with everything. You will find it spiritual as there is very good energy in the store especially in the back right hand corner with all the Buddha statues.

Received a message from a Unilocal user here that the reason I couldn’t find them was that they’ve moved across the street from 82 to 81 Mulberry. Address found Googling at the time was not current. So I look forward to trying again :)

This is by far my absolute favorite gift shop in Chinatown. They carry inventory that is catered toward various Hindu and Buddhist religions. Mixed within it is are sculptures and random«stuff» that can really add that pop to your home. If you need feng shui stuff, this is a great spot. Pricing is really good even relative to the rest of Chinatown. Even if that is not your deal, the feel of the shop is pretty amazing. They also have consistent revamp of inventory such as jade chopsticks, spoons, jade cordial glasses, and other such random what nots. You can find all types of crystal bookends or crystal whatchamacall its at all times. There are random wall hanging original art, vases, and sculpture throughout, though if I was looking specifically for a vase, i might also go across the street to Jade Garden Arts & Crafts. My brother has purchased swords and statutes for his garden at this place, at great prices. As the other writer mentioned, there is some ability to negotiate price if you’ve purchased a lot. That said, his prices are extremely reasonable, which you will easily find by comparing this store to Jade Crystal and Craft, Inc, down the street on Bayard or any of the other places on Mott. A little warning if you’ve got young ones with you. Hindu culture involves Kama Sutra. There are various statutes and pictorals that are littered about the store. You may need to watch where your young ones look. If i was to make a suggestion to the owner at all, it would be to consolidate this stuff in a single area so that a poor parent wouldn’t find it and then run from the establishment.

Hua Yang’s storefront was a great place to spend a little while with my oldest daughter looking around at all the interesting things they were offering for sale. I’m sure we could have wandered in here for hours. We picked up several souvenirs of our time in NY’s Chinatown at what seemed a very fair price. Listening to my daughter trying to haggle with someone here was very interesting. The service was-about what you’d expect!
