For a staffing firm, extremely rude on the phone. Many individuals apply to a staffing firm to see if there are possibilities. I was treated very rudely. As a past executive recruiter and HR professional, I would tend to refer individuals to another firm. This is only an indication of how they will treat you if employed by them.

This firm is one of the best best in New York City. After submitting my resume online, a recruiter promptly called me in for an interview. Before formally completing my interview, I completed three assessments on a computer. I truly believe that many of the people below have misguided opinions about these assessments. The material covered on these assessments are common knowledge and should not give on too much anxiety. My recommendation would be to relax and skip questions that you do not immediately understand.
Moreover, the staff member I worked with immediately began presenting me with opportunities at prestigious firms. I am delighted to working with such a professional organization.

Bad!!! Had a phone interview with manqing who barely could ask questions. Bad communication skills. Bad interviewing process. She had no professionalism. I would not recommend this company. And especially this person!!! They need to hire better people!!!

I’ve worked with many recruiting agencies and Wall Street Services is by far the best. Not only did they get my resume the most exposure, they also gave me excellent tips for refining my resume and interviewing. With their help, I landed a fantastic contract which has propelled me to work for better companies and more exciting projects.
Many recruiting firms will send your resume to their clients after only a 2 minute phone call with you. To them, you are still only a name on paper. With Wall Street Services, they get to know you and can speak to the client about how you are the best candidate for their open roles.
Give them 1 hr of your time and you will be amazed at the results.

They basically call you in to take a simple test about math and adaptability. The person who helped me was courteous, professional, and honest. But I didn’t like the fact that they base your scores from this test to determine you as the appropriate candidate. I didn’t score so well so they frankly told me that they would place candidates who did well on top of the list but I would still be kept in their system. They have preference over candidates who performed well on their assessment test and not unique skills or job experience.

There was an initial phone interview, followed by a long and tedious 3 part assessment test shortly after. You need to score above average on all 3 parts to move forward to an office visit. One of my friends scored above average on ²⁄₃ parts and they called him back saying they could not proceed with the interview process when he was clearly qualified for any entry level positions from all his work experience. Luckily, I made it to the office visit only to be disappointed from the minute I walked in.
Not only were they very unprofessional and had next to no opportunities, but the office looked like a pre-​school. The office visit lasted 15 minutes (asking me the same questions they asked me over the phone with the same person), only to tell me they will get back to me in about a month IF there are any openings. Seriously? A month? It’s been two months and I have yet to hear back from them (no surprise), only for them to ignore my e-​mails and phone calls.
Pathetic part was as I was waiting to be interviewed I hear them reading off a script to oblivious job seekers over the phone, everything I was told on my initial phone interview. They tell everyone the same thing and lead you on. Don’t waste your time at this shop.

No responses no meetings and no appointments, even though a lot of their available jobs i am overqualified for, i get the feeling that they don’t actually recruit just a website. So basically no e-​mails phone calls or recognition i would never recommend this firm.

This has been my first experience with a staffing agency so at the beginning I was very spectacle. I had not been successful in finding a position myself after applying for about five months, but within a few weeks of being a WSS client I found myself at one of the top financial firms. The testing process when I first arrived was a bit unexpected and unpleasant, but one needs to see WSS as a business that sells talent and they simply do not have the resources to represent everyone who walks into their office. I have had nothing but a pleasant experience working with WSS and their services have been invaluable to my career development.

I landed a job in less than a week from my initial meeting with Wall Street Services. They are rigorous, thorough, and professional. I was rather surprised from the reviews — the tests were easy enough. If you run out of time, you’re not following the directions. Would recommend to everyone interested in working in Finance.

I had a really excellent experience with Wall Street Serivces. Was having a very difficult time with the post-​college job hunt for over a year when I sent them a resume on a whim. They called me the next day. I went in for an interview, the staff was nothing but professional and kind. I did well on their testing and from their on out, they were frequently calling and updating me on potential job opportunities. Whenever I would call them, someone would always pick up the phone immediately. They were able to get me an interview at a great firm within a couple weeks and I got the job, which I have been very pleased with thus far. Can’t say enough about how professional, engaged, and helpful they all were, from their founder on down to every employee. In fact, their founder gave me great interview prep via phone right before my interview.
Highly recommend this agency especially for kids recently out of college looking to utilize their skills.

Terrible service. I am an accomplished individual with strong experience. I was forced to take a spelling test like an elementary school kid. They dont tell you the way they grade, the comp doesnt work and then they ask you if you had any problems. they place candidates based on these results so even if you do well, like i did, you still feel frustrated because you could have done better and its the comp fault.

Hmmm, despite reviews of this place, I went in, took the tests and actually did very well. I had a chat with someone named Suzanne, who seemed friendly enough, and was on my way. I thought things went very well actually (although who knows, maybe from their point of view not so much).
At any rate, I’m giving a low rating because, since then (it’s been about a month and a half), I have sent one follow-​up email and called once. Not only were they awful on the phone (e.g. not helpful, a bit of an attitude, etc.), I never received a reply email regarding a simple inquiry I sent to a specific person (Suzanne). Like, she just ignored it. Super unprofessional in my opinion. I will likely not be using them in the future, but hey, stranger things have happened.

I’ve been working with a bunch of agencies and this was the first one that was able to land me a decent short term gig in finance. They have consistently been professional, friendly, and honest. Unlike other agencies, they have online timecards which steps them technological lightyears ahead of their competition. Shai has been my main point of contact and he’s incredibly personable and upfront.
I went through the «adaptability» testing which, as others have put, is a mix of math, grammar, spelling, etc. If you have half a brain, it’s really simple and to be honest, kind of fun. Compared to the GMAT, SAT, and other multiple choice tests, it’s not hard at all.
I’m shocked at reading the other postings because my experience was so contradictory. One must keep in mind, that it’s a tough economy and hard to find jobs anywhere. It took about 3 weeks for them to offer me something.

I am very thankful for the staff at WSS for helping me land a great position. Many complained about the initial testing. I was very much intimidated when I went into the office at 8:30AM, but the questions were very basic.
About a week after I completed the testing, I was contacted to go on some interviews. It wasn’t a one shot process but after several tries, I was able to get a temporary position and eventually received a full time offer. I wasn’t great with marketing myself during interviews and the staff at WSS were very patient to help me prepare and boost my confidence before sending me to my interviews.
WSS provided a great overall service to assist me through the interview process as well as following up with me on the first day at my position.

The only reason I gave this firm one star is because I am not able to give it zero stars.
I had received a phone call from Lorna M. about job opportunities. After our initial phone conversation, it was clear that she did not have anything in my salary range. She wanted me to come in to complete the application process regardless in the event something did come up. I refused and explained to her that I would be happy to come in should something sound like a potential fit, but not until then.
A few weeks later, Lorna again called me about a job and assured me that it was a true job well within my salary range and asked that I come in. I told her I would take her first availability and was there the next morning, June 10, 2010 at 8:30 AM. I was put into a room by the receptionist and asked to complete a series of computerized exams ranging from spelling, grammar and math. These were multiple choice and timed for 30 minutes each with scrap paper and pencils available for computations.
After completing these, I was very confident that I would be one of their star candidates as I found the exams to be challenging, but not difficult or impossible.
Imagine my surprise when Lorna refused to come out and greet me and instead, sent a colleague. The colleague, Susan L., told me that they had nothing that would suit me and suggested I try other recruiting firms. I asked if I would get to meet Lorna and she said no and gave no explanation.
It’s been several months since I was there and they have not sent me anywhere or even attempted to contact me again with job opportunities.

A complete waste of time. If this organization happens to call you and invites you to come in for an ‘interview’ just say no. The other reviewers with the exception of GM are telling the truth.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! This place will give you the most rediculous waste of time testing for hours and hours and then never call you or lie and say they h ave jobs they dont have. Do not waste your time! The staff is rude and have no clue how to do their jobs. Worst agency in Manhattan!

WSS’s testing was extensive and arduous, they never follow up or return calls, and when they do have a job for you, they tell you about it, put you on some kind of hold for it, and then never get back to you. You have to get back to them, or connect the dots for them, or basically reintroduce yourself every single time you make any kind of contact.
Susan set me up with a job I was totally wrong for, and I tried to tell her that. She wouldn’t listen. She told HR at the job that I was going to show up – I had to call them myself and tell them the situation. They understood, but I would have looked very bad to them if I hadn’t taken that step, thanks to Susan and her obsession with filling quotas at any cost, especially at the cost of someone’s professional reputation.

k k and G M, your reviews sound fake. So many fakers with sudden 5-​star reviews. Depressing.
Edit: Testing – I did well on the tests. Still no jobs. All that time and effort, for absolutely zero follow up. WSS doesn’t «groom business skills.» What does that mean? They test you, they grade you. There’s no grooming department or interview coaching. I worked with a «top notch» Wall Street firm, too, as a computer operator, and only because I had the job before signing up with WSS. I had to switch agencies because of that pain in the butt outsourcing, and Williams Lea had an «exclusive» list of agencies they would work with. PAPERWORK YAY. There’s no teaching here that I saw. Only evaluation. I was told only that I did well on the tests. No specifics about what I should work on or what my strengths are.
Hm, ‘top notch’ is a phrase used by both Mike B. and G M. How interesting.
«Come in and take the tests,» they say. You spend hours on them. When you’re done, they say, «Who are you again?»
Trying to make some sense of this. They insist on the testing. When you’re done, it’s like they’re done with you. Like a vampire that tosses someone aside after draining his blood. Temp agency vampires. There’s one Hollywood hasn’t thought of.

I had the unpleasant experience of working for Wall Street Services.
Like Meryl Streep in that movie about a fashion diva witch, the head of
the company enjoys making condescending remarks and having others do her dirty work. If you want to feel as worthwhile as a grain of
sand on the beach, work for them… They know how to make you feel that small.

Candidates upon registering with this mega staffing agency must complete a timed exam of math, English, grammar which is comprehensive and extremely extensive. There is scrap paper for commuting one’s answers for the math portion of the exam. I never finished the exam as I got only ¼ of it completed and failed to result with a rude scowl look from a recruiter who interviewed me based on my results (without reviewing me based on my professional experience) informed very bluntly and extreme callous tone: «we have NO position that matches your skills!!» both in-​person on the spot. In writing several weeks later, I received this same repeated response resonating in the same rude callous attitude. Discrimination based on standardized written exams! As a human being I was completely judged on my results rather than my professional hands-​on employment experience. I was unable to speak to the recruiter about my professional background or goals.
Wall Street Services discriminate candidates based on intelligence rather than practical professional experience as they only accept those who produce high results on the application exam. Clearly NOT E.O.E.
