I love this place for all the artist they bring, I’m really not a fan of seats like MSG, Barclays, Nikon Theater ect… so I like coming here a lot and other small venues… The down side to this place is that there’s a lot of rude people either they’re really drunk or on something… some dude came up to me asking for«white»…I saw three fights one night and I didn’t see any security guards stop it… I see a lot of the security guards do there jobs but some just do nothing and stand around… The Drinks are kind of expensive 1 beer for 10 dollars, so it’s better buying off 2 at the same time cuz they have a 2 for 15 deal so most of the time I’m double fisting… Lol Overall I give WH3 stars if you love music this is a place to be, just don’t expect to meet a lot of nice people… Lol Peace, Love and Respect…

Enjoyed the St. Germain Concert here recently… I have been here before and this place has multiple floors with a great diverse selection of music in various dance rooms/spaces. The drinks are pretty good.

So here’s the thing: Webster Hall is exactly what you’d expect from a grimy 19+ nightclub. It’s dirty, the guards are everywhere and they’re kind of mean tbh, and there are old creeps in every corner. However, this is probably the highest rating I can give a nightclub of this sorts. Out of all of the ones I’ve been to in NY, it’s still my favorite. It’s by far the best compared to places like Space Ibiza, Pacha(RIP), Terminal 5, etc, in my opinion. When I go out, I like to go to places that play electronic or hip hop music, and I really don’t like wearing heels so I stay away from 21+ nightclubs and go to these, and yeah, they all kind of suck, but Webster is the only one I don’t think twice about coming. I pretty much exclusively come for the club nights, Fridays(Boys & Girls) and Satudays(used to be called Brite Nites) because that’s when DJs come in. I’ve been to House Party on Thursdays a couple of times because ladies are free and it was trash. Way too overpacked. I hear it’s only 21+ ladies that are free now, don’t know the cover charge though. –1 star because the guards can be slime. Some of them are really nice and helpful, others just yell and yell at you for no reason. The worst experience I had was when I was at an event for Party Favor + Valentino Kahn(3÷26÷2016) and I was literally yelled at from the moment I got on the line outside til I went to the second floor for the main performers. It was traumatizing. One time my friend was just on the stairs talking to some guy and got kicked out of the venue by security guard for no reason. So confusing. — another star for their SUPER over priced drinks and coat check. Drinks are $ 16-$ 20 and coat check is $ 6 for coats and small items, $ 12 for a bigger bag. Nobody has those kinds of prices. I’ll keep coming back for the DJs though. If you get a ticket for their New Years Eve party($ 100), you get in all club nights for free for the next year. I did that in 2015 and got my money’s worth of tickets within the first month. Like I said, this is the highest rating I would give a nightclub like this. I’m a regular when it comes to Webster, but there’s definitely a lot of room for improvement.

The last time I visited your establishment was almost a year to the day, for a dear friend’s memorial service. Last night I was there to support Bernie Worrell, who is battling stage 4 lung cancer. I assure you I have visited your club many times under more joyful circumstances, and I assure you I have spent plenty of money under any kind of circumstance over the last 15 years as a New Yorker who is also an avid music fan, the manager of a reputable nightclub, and, now, a woman who is seven months pregnant. No one told me to go out last night. I wanted to, because I don’t get out much and because I wanted to see a night of amazing music(the music WAS incredible, so thank you for that). My husband bought several beers, and I bought SEVERAL bottles of water which were $ 5 each plus $ 1 tip. Again, as a nightclub manager I understand economics. I understand the need to make money. As a soon-to-be-mother, I started realizing the dire need to partake in the basic human right of water as the third, fourth, and fifth hour of the show progressed. I started to feel faint, but didn’t want to miss a Mothership reunion, as Bootsy, George, and Bernie(presumably for the last time) all were set to take the stage, so I sat on the floor and waited. I didn’t want to pass out and interrupt the show. I was really trying not to be a liability to your place. I asked the man in the back bar for a glass of water, and he said, quite rudely, that there were faucets in the bathroom. He then stormed off to wait on the one other person at the bar. Then, I asked if I could please purchase my fifth bottle of overpriced water(to stay alive and for my baby to stay alive), and he dramatically rolled his eyes at me to continue waiting on the other person at the bar, and rolled his eyes at them ABOUT me as well, as if to say, «Can you believe this pregnant lady wants me to sell her water?! Ugh!!!» He then returned to rudely sell me the water. Should I have left the venue because I didn’t feel well? Maybe. Would I have HAD to, were your bartenders trained in the art of customer service, or even basic human decency? Definitely not. I will never again purchase $ 25 worth of water from your venue again, because I will never go again. I don’t care if you book the ghost of David Bowie, I won’t be back. That was one of the worst customer service experiences of my entire life. I’m glad I lived to Unilocal about it. (I would like to mention that at one point, the bartender at the main bar did fill one of my five bottles of water up once for me. I hope he isn’t punished for this. He is human and received a $ 3 tip for the necessary fill-up, whereas the man in the back received $ 0 for his terrible scumbag attitude. The economics of kindness can be amazing.) (Honorable mention: said terrible bartender LEFTHISBAR to get a photo of Rick Springfield. There were countless LEGENDS there last night and dude risked his job for Rick Springfield. I also followed him in the bathroom line and he urinated all over the seat. That is all.)

Its a huge place. That’s what’s cool about it. They have different rooms in three different floors with different music. Go there if you’re into electronic music or environments with a lot of people dancing(kind of rave style). I don’t know why it is said that the dress code is classy, because about 85% of people there seem to be in pants, jersey, addidas tennis and a hat that has never been bent and still has the«official product» sticker on it. Drinks are a bit pricey. I ordered Rum and Coke and it was $ 16 dollars plus tip. Yup.

It doesn’t matter what I write for this place, you will probably still go and the place will continue to make heaps of money by gouging for drinks and being rude to the clientele. The venue is not well maintained, showing its age and wear unglamorously. Mixed well drinks are $ 18+, coat check is $ 6 and comes with a ton of rude attitude. I was only here to see Goldfish play on March 4th and I’ll never be back. There are plenty of other more sophisticated venues in the city to enjoy music. Stay grown up and keep your dignity and avoid this place if you can.

Came to Webster Hall this week to watch Troye Sivan and it was amaaaaaaazing! The venue is basically split into a few rooms. The concert was in the Grand Ballroom and was on the second floor of the building. It was basically a large open room with a balcony area overlooking from above. This concert was 16+ but surprisingly alcohol was being served in two of the bars. Drinks were a bit pricey though. A double vodka red bull for $ 20, what! The bathroom is unisex, which is also strange to me. If it is cold out do not forget your coat check for $ 4-$ 5. Overall the concert was completely amazing and awesome! So much energy and excitement. Troye is known for utilizing light during his shows and it played so well with his music. Of course the crowd is pumped and pushing a little bit, but it added to the energy and I had a lot of fun. Now other nights are probably different if the type of scene is more of a dance club or 21+ show, but this one was more for a younger crowd and super safe. A great experience and I would come again.

Webster Hall is an NYC staple. I’ve been coming here for over a decade. I’ve seen countless shows. Located in a central location in the city, close to union square, making it an easily accessible venue for everyone. The layout is one of its strengths. When you enter the main floor with stage, there is a bar at the back, the merchandise table is to your left and far right is another bar. The upstairs with great views caters to the VIP area. The staff has always been great. The bartenders are friendly and the security is present and always helpful. I recently went to see Ty Segall, the show was sold out but I was trying to surprise my girlfriend who had a ticket. I showed up right before he took the stage and after a short conversation with the girl working the door she agreed to sell me a ticket and let me in. That to me is a great experience. Every time I’ve come wether it’s an event like an award show, a gaming convention, covering CMJ as a photographer or just trying to see a local band. I always have a great time. It’s large enough not to be a crowded bar and small enough to have a personal experience with the music and the crowd. It’s open and there is always space to pull back from the mayhem and chill. The drinks are reasonably priced and never a line. With crappy overbooked venues like Terminal 5 and the loss of Roseland Ballroom, Webster Hall is by far one of the better venues for a show.

I have been to Webster Hall for a ton of shows while living in New York. I was just at the Ty Segall show last night. Segall is known for his theatrics and noise rock. Last night he did not disappoint wearing a creepy baby mask, tossing toilet paper around and doing a fair amount of crowd surfing. There was also an impressive light patterns on the stage and it was an audience participatory experience. As for Webster Hall I like that you can get a great view of the stage from almost any angle in the showroom. There is the main circular bar when you walk into the large venue. There is a smaller venue downstairs that also does shows. Last night there was even a second bar. Merch is always when you walk in to the left and on your left in a corner. The bathrooms here are not my favorite. There’s some strange snacks being sold and ear plugs and the person hands out paper towels after you wash your hands. I always feel awkward when there’s a bathroom attendant. I just want to pee and tipping is being implied when there is an employee in there. They also have incense burning in the bathroom«Nagchampa»(reminiscent of nineties hippie rooms covered in black lights and psychedelic posters) And there is also no bathroom hooks. So as a girl, the seats are covered in pee, and you have to hover over the seat while holding a coat and purse and people are impatiently waiting for your stall and the lines are coming in from both entrances. Bathroom issues aside, I enjoy the large space and the sound is alright. And I am super happy the location is off the L train. It’s extremely easy to get there and get home. And last night I was lucky enough to have a VIP wristband. The downstairs looked like a sardine can compared to the sparsely crowded upstairs that even had a railing ledge for your drinks. The bathrooms were a smidge nicer too and individual stalls. Water was still $ 5 a pop. I enjoyed seeing the band rock out and still having plenty of elbow room . I saw Electric Wizard here and that show was incredible. The band is a very influential English death metal band notorious for their visual videos. The show was stunning. The sound was perfection. I also had the good fortune to see Murder City Devils here. Being a Seattle lady, it was such a fun show. The booking agent is killing it right now. Keep them coming! I unfortunately missed the Faith No More show last year but you might be seeing me here at the Napalm Death/Melvins/Melt Banana show here! I am still on the fence if I want to go to both nights.(also at the Music Hall of Williamsburg)

Where do I begin with Webster Hall, it’s been some time since i’ve battled this beast. I remember when I was allowed in at the tender age of 17 years old because the bouncers are that incompetent.(Don’t get any ideas kids). Now in my early 20’s I don’t think I would ever venture into this place again. The place is riddled with underaged people that are drunk and stumbling, passed out on the benches, propped up on the walls. Taking selfies in the middle of the staircase. Puke in the bathroom stalls, bartenders are unfriendly but who can blame them. Like any club in New York you also get your fair share of tourists and questionable older gents. It only gets an extra star because of the three levels of music. The basement has hip hop and carribean music, first level is top 40’s and then the upper floor is where you get your EDM, Dance music. This place is the direct definition of MEH.

Every time I end up at Webster Hall, I find myself wondering why I don’t come there more often… and I usually end up finding my answer by the end of the night. This place gets weird. I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with Webster Hall. I mean I used to really avoid it but then depending on the event, it really can prove to be some of the best times out there. Three in particular for me that really stood out are their foam parties, the recent No Pants Subway Ride After-Party(where someone jacked my phone, grrrr…(but honestly that doesn’t factor into my rating because when you’re fool enough to be pantsless, shuffling in a club, holding your phone in your sock, you should expect shit to go wrong), and The Fat Jewish’s recent Four Loko Party here! On a regular night, I’m not too big a fan, and while on one hand for some reason girls always seem WAY more into me here than anywhere else, on the other hand I have to assume that it’s because there are super young girls, so I just stay away from them all. lololol Still though, Webster’s specialty nights, like the sorts of events listed above, can really hold it down!

I went for the East Ville Des Follies Beer & Whiskey Festival which was held Saturday aftrenoon. The first floor and second floor have separate stages with a constant flow of entertainment. A «big band» on the second floor was playing music from the 1920’s. Whiskies were offered on the first floor; the second and third floors were used for beer and cider. It was a sold-out event so it was crowded but there were so many booths that people kept moving. I will go again next year. The building is quite old(1887). The interior was rebuilt a few times, last in 1949. Nothing about the venue seems modern. Good acoustics. The history is fascinating; for a complete bio go to

This place is ratchet, and in both good and bad ways. One of my places clubs to dance at in New York City because it’s one of the largest and they play the best music!!! Hallelujahhhh I love turning it up here. Three levels of dance floors mean three different options for you to jam to. My favorite is the middle level, which consists of hip hop, r&b, and old skool stuff(they have House Party nights where they play those good old throwbacks… if anyone knows any other club that plays New Jack Swing, PLEASELETMEKNOWGODBLESS U). The upper level plays EDM which is also fun to dance to… I usually hop around between the second floor and third. The basement is just weird and I’m too scared to go down there. That being said, this place can sometime smell like marijuana which is a huge turn off. The floor can get slippery and sticky as well with the spilling of alcohols. This ain’t a classy place so don’t come here for a romantic sophisticated date… Unless you wanna get Drunk in Love like Bey and Jay. Clearly they struggle with keeping this place nice and clean. This place is for you to get down dirty and dance. The crowd is mostly minorities, lots of black people, and the men here are touchy just like every other club. But, the people here are actually dancing, which is why I am very fond of this club. Overall, this is a hood place and a good place for the people who actually care about music and gettin’ it low. Just like a typical night partying in the city, you might encounter some rude people and conflicts. Don’t have too high expectations for meeting and interacting with staff and others who have manners. Lots of people are drunk and they just wanna get loose. So don’t come here to look for a nice cute guy and you’ll have a great time dancing the night away with your friends.

I’ve attended my fair share of concerts here, but have never dared to go dancing on a weekend night. A good variety of genres are represented in their calendar. The sound system at the main stage is alright — not the best, but not the worst. Lines to get in are never long every time I’ve been, and coat check is not a hassle. Downstairs, they have a smaller room that always features a less popular or local talent. Restrooms are spacious and clean, and drink prices are standard for this part of Manhattan. Overall, a decent venue but not my first choice to see a band I really like.

Been here three times. They always open late. I had an open bar from 9 – 11. They didn’t open doors until 9:40. And than apparently there was a special bar you had to go to for the open bar, and that bar didn’t open until about 10:15. So the open bar went from being 2 hours to 45 mins. Had VIP on another occasion and security told me it was closed. I watched 10 mins later s he let people in. Contacted someone else who was working there and they told me it wasn’t open. I told them I saw other people going in and they refused to answer me after that. My friend was supposed to be performing in the bassment on one occasion and they opened late and cut his hour set after just 20 mins, making him look bad to those unknowing that he thought he had 40 more mins. Of course, these were all relatively different occasions. None were handled gracefully and I was unimpressed.

Tickets around $ 25-$ 50 depends on who the guest DJ of the night is. Once getting inside, you can go to any of 5 rooms on 3 floors. The biggest one is the Grand Ballroom and this is where guest DJs play from 1:30AM-3AM. The lights, the sound, and the crowd are perfect for all-night dancing, just a couple things to address here: — Like any club, the floor is extremely DIRTY: spilled beer, cigarette butts, glow necklaces. — People SMOKE a lot in the Grand Ballroom. More vapes and cigarettes as you go closer to the DJ. So don’t wear anything flammable, and wear thin. Despite the weather, it is sweating on the dance floor. — Any fees inside are outrageous. Coat check is $ 5/ITEM, and sorry guys and gals but CASH only. — The atmosphere is very casual. Don’t believe their stupid dress code. There is just enough space to shake your head, not easy to perform your swaggy dance moves. Come here if you are big into the music. Peeps will approach you now and then but they can be dismissed.

This ridiculous establishment has absolutely no respect and is filled with completely incompetent workers. I keep a utility tool in my bag, and I didn’t protest when they removed it from my possession. However, I am appalled that they tossed this expensive item in the garbage right in front of me. They then had the audacity to find me later on, yell at me, and accuse me of taking it back from the garbage can… behind the counter where nobody but the staff has access to. It is clear as day that some worker wanted to pocket the expensive item for themselves, and they actually went back to yell at me after stealing from me. Disgusting place, in every way. I enjoyed this place. There were booths along the back walls to sit. Good for waiting for a band to come on. There seemed to be 2 bars at opposite ends of the room. The bathrooms were downstairs. The space was pretty nice. Staff was okay. I don’t know if they use barricades but there wasn’t one when I came here and I was right against the stage, which if I remember correctly, came up to my waist. Also, who or how would someone walk into the bathroom at a venue barefoot? The sign gave me a good laugh though.

I came to Webster Hall to check out an EDM concert with KSHMR headlining and Frank Stuart and some other DJs who were openers. We arrived around 12:30AM on Saturday night(technically Sunday) and cut most of the crowd with the Jukely offer. There was still a short line and it went by quickly. I went to the top floor where the bigger bands play(apparently there’s 4 floors or something? I’m a complete noob at concerts. The last one I’ve been to was a… Demi Lovato Concert in Barclays. Yah. Don’t judge me). There were a ton of people, but I managed to squeeze towards the front. As my first EDM experience in America(I’ve been to Ministry of Sound in England), I enjoyed it! A lot of sweaty bros, PDA couples, and obnoxious smokers, but I’m guessing those are pretty common in these parts. I didn’t get any drinks here(thank god), but generally had an enjoyable time. Again, I have no cross-reference for these kinds of venues, so take my review with a large lump of salt.

Whoa I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who thinks much of this place. I’ve been here twice so far: once to see Amiee Mann and tonight I saw the Menzingers. Both acts were great, and the sound & lighting was fine. 1 of these stars is for the gender-neutral stalls, proving to folks that it doesn’t need to be weird to do your business next to someone who doesn’t match your physical anatomy. My concert tickets were reasonably priced but this place really tries to nickel and dime you. After finding out that the fee to check my backpack was $ 8, I tried holding onto it and shortly got annoyed with having it on me so I decided to just suck it up and pay the outrageous fee. Usually I tip coat check as well but I refrained from tipping when I heard one of the employees make a joke about a guy maybe being on his period. I don’t need your misogyny and transphobia, thanx. When I went to retrieve my bag another worker at coat check gave me a creepy look :-/ Also, $ 5 for water is absurd!!! I was ready to pay $ 2 for some water but $ 5? No way! Lastly, I’ll let it be known that I donated my would-be tip money to someone sleeping on the street and someone performing in the subway.

I must warn you, pepper spray will be THROWNOUT in the garbage, please don’t make the same mistake as I did, I was so angry when the girl did not even give me a chance to leave it outside, she threw right in the garbage, when she explained in past experiences the pepper spray was used and some people have received an allergic reaction. I’ve somehow managed to avoid coming to this venue my entire life, but found myself here for the first time a couple of weeks ago for a Gwar show. I know it has a lot of flaws, I can see bigger events being disorganized. The bathrooms for men and woman are located on opposite sides of the building. They charge(a lot) for water, and drinks are predictably overpriced. But I kind of dug the place. They have multiple spaces so on any given night there’s a number of different shows taking place that vary wildly. And the space is gorgeous. The ceilings, the tiled floors, the weird art pieces sprinkled about. The building is OLD and doesn’t look like it’s being maintained as well as it could be, but I find that to be part of it’s charm, if not the best thing about it.

Came on a Saturday night for Vicetone. Loved the show and sound system. We interestingly observed the ground shaking as people danced/jumped. There were 2 openers and Vicetone played a little past 3AM but some other(maybe house) DJ came on afterwards to keep the night going. Bouncers and bartenders were friendly but a bottle of water is $ 6! I saw someone with a camelbak so who knows how they got that in. There are multiple floors so it’s nice to have the option to check out different music and vibes. The bathrooms are gross and smelly but this can be avoided if you just don’t go. Crowd depends a lot on what’s going on at the venue. Would definitely come again for another show!

Went for the UB40 concert last week. If you go, just pay extra for the balcony view. It is far too packed down front. Those of us that are old enough remember that Webster Hall has seen better days. I am shocked that this place has not been condemned. It is the grossest place ever, in fact I am convinced that all of the alcohol that they have not cleaned up off the floor is what binds the building and holds it together. I mean we were on the balcony and ONE girl about 115lbs jumped up and down and the entire balcony shook. Not very fun. I don’t think I would be back there… unless it got an overhaul. Be careful.

Decent venue. Not the best, not the worst. Saw IAMX here on Friday, October 30, 2015 in the Grand Ballroom. Bouncers and staff were pretty friendly. My big gripe here was the upstairs(VIP balcony) bartender. I have never had such terrible service or to be accurate, lack of service. It was so egregious that I felt compelled to find a manager — I have literally never done that in my life. I didn’t do it so I am just going to complain on here and hope that a manager sees. It was the day before Halloween so the bartender was some sort of vampire/dead mime. The show had just ended but the bar was obviously still open. It’s a small bar and there was only one customer at the end. The bartender was deeply engrossed in a conversation with him. My friend and I walked up to the bar and stood somewhere in the middle, almost within arm’s reach of the bartender. And we continued to stand. We had our wallets out. We were no longer squinting or scoping anything — we had clearly selected our drinks. Still continued to stand. Finally, my friend politely said«Hey, when you are done taking care of him, can you get us a couple drinks?» She seemed annoyed and said«Yeah sure, just let me finish here.» She appeared to be closing a tab however her conversation seemed to be of a personal nature. So we waited a bit more. Practically next to the bartender and her friend. We waited several minutes even after she acknowledged us verbally. She continued blabbing to the guy, totally ignoring us. In my many years of drinking, I have never encountered such horrible, blatant disregard for a customer at a bar. I understand being busy but this wasn’t it. RIDICULOUS. We ended up just leaving — she deserves zero tips and is pretty much a disgrace to the entire service industry. A mime is actually an apt classification of her bartending prowess — entirely illusory and full of empty gestures.

I had come here a couple of times, the first being the most memorable. It was when Steve Aoki was beginning his surge in popularity, back in 2009. He did a kickass Bohemian Rhapsody cut, a video of it is on Youtube, worth checking out. It was an awesome show and he actually played for longer than an hour and a half, which is how long he played at Revel this past labor day weekend… But I can’t pardon this venue for my last visit here, and have not been back since then. What happened was inexcusable and I’ve never experienced it anywhere else in the city. Back in 2010, I came with some friends for a paint party event(Day Glow). On the website it was $ 30 but at the door they had raised the price by $ 10. Now that in itself is enough to rile my nerves, but to pile on to this frustration, they had let in so many people that the fire marshal came by and ended the event before it began. Adding insult to injury, they immediately announced there’d be no refunds outside to the mob of people that had just been kicked out. As we walked back, there was vandalism all along 4th Avenue. Shame, the people should have just returned the following week and vandalized this insides of this sorry excuse of a hall.

Leider in großem Saal keine Sitzplätze beim Konzert.
