This is quite a hidden spot inside of the Jolly Madison Hotel on the corner of Madison Avenue and East 38^th. It cannot be seen from the outside, you have to actually go through the lobby of the hotel, all the way to the back and make a right. It is not a fancy spot; dimmed lights, and a grand piano. Once in a while they have live music, but I’m not sure on the schedule. Usually they just have some background music playing, nothing spectacular. They have a couple of TV’s as well. Overall, the furniture looks like it could use some reupholstering, but happy hour prices are on the cheap side. It is 50% off, so beers are around $ 3.50 and wine approximately $ 5/​$ 6. The happy hour is from 5 to 8; an hour more than most places in the area. Again, the place looks kind of old, but you may want to check it out if you’re by Murray Hill and you’re looking for a quiet atmosphere, where you can actually have a conversation without having to scream.
