Have been back a few more times, first to try the brunch, which was amazing! Incredibly creative pizza, perfectly cooked eggs, and the absolutely delicious bombolini, with we had to get two orders of since the first order disappeared immediately. The familiar yet inventive items on the menu have changed delightfully each time I have eaten there, and the cocktails have been fantastic as well. Definitely a great neighborhood place for an after-dinner drink, leisurely meal, or extended brunch!

I had a really great time at the wine diciples. the food was great and we really just stumbled upon it. The wine selection by the glass was good but not unbelievable. I did really enjoy our waitress who was very kind and suggested some meats and cheeses. Obviously NYC restaurants can be tight, but they did not need to sit a couple right next to us with a bunch of tables open which was annoying.

Their wine list was not very accessible for the average person. The guy could not/would not explain the type of grape was in it. We know a little bit about wine. The guy they sent over to explain the wine was a bit of an ass. He would only tell us if you give me your price range I can give you suggestions. He was a bit snooty for us. Our waiter took the time to explain the dishes. They really should have descriptions explaining their dishes on the menu. Need to be able to read Italian rather confusing. I give our waiter excellent review. I ordered the beef shank ravioli. The flavor was good. The ravioli was too small for me to even taste the beef maybe because it was puréed. The Gorgonzola Stromboli(I think it was called) was really good but a bit salty. Pork and mushroom dish was 4 out of 5 hubby said. Unfortunately for the price and food it really is not worth coming back to this place. We decided to go here cause it got great reviews.

Stopped by to see a new friend and sadly he takes Wednesday’s off, but given the outside temperature we stayed for a quick glass of wine. The food still looks good but I must say I’m surprised that there is still NOTHING on the walls, not a photograph, no art of any kind, stark and uninviting. And where is the warm and inviting presence, there’s a host but you don’t see anyone in authority engaging the guests, no one going from table to table with an outgoing demeanor making sure people are having fun. That’s what is missing here, FUN! WHY is the only person providing this energy stuck behind the bar?

Friendly and accommodating servers, great food(we had pizza), and the wines were amazing! The manager was extremely nice and helpful. Overall wonderful place for a nice evening out. The ambiance was especially nice; intimate yet spacious! A little hidden gem in Chelsea, and it just happened to be across from our hotel… No cabs needed!

Great staff and great happy hour selection and pricing. The oysters were probably the best shucked oysters I’ve had and quite good. It’s not well known yet so it’s a great place to have a conversation, i.e., not packed.

My friends and I came here for our recent girls night out. We made a reservation for 6pm but the restaurant was mostly empty. We were seated right away and the service was on par. Occasionally, they did forget to bring more water or refill our Cava. But overall, it was good service. We all enjoyed a couple glasses of Cava. It was rather tasty and I assume I can pick up a bottle at their wine store next door. I ordered the mozzarella curd($ 10) which was like fried mozzarella sticks but in cubes. Nevertheless, it was delicious. H ordered the Arancini which was delicious as well. The balsamic sauce added a nice note to the riceballs. M ordered the calamari and she liked it. We ordered three pizzas to share. We got the marghertia($ 14), Broccoli and ricotta($ 16) and the veal meatballs($ 18) were delicious. Most of the pizzas were cooked to perfection, but I must admit I could have done without the broccoli(I was never a fan of broccoli). Their pizzas are amazing and I wished they had a fried pizza option. We ordered desserts as well. I ordered the chocolate torte($ 12) and M ordered the fennel panna cotta($ 12), both were okay. I wasn’t a fan and could have done without them.

Had a lovely, leisurely dinner with a friend here last night. Their wine menu seems fairly average, they have a small selection of wines by the glass, roughly 5 or 6 red and whites and perhaps with a little less variety than I would have hoped for a place called«Wine Disciples». Their by the bottle list is more extensive though they seem to all range from $ 50 — $ 120. Their American Reds list puts on a good show, excellent selections from Willamette Valley, Central Coast, and Russian River, though perhaps a bit over priced. We had a nice Central Coast pinot for $ 65. Their food menu is a bit sparse in my opinion, but it’s all deliciously cooked. They have only two salads and neither would be enough for even a quasi substantial meal. Their menu is a bit heavily focused on meats and seafood for main courses with vegetarian options relegated to appetizers or sides. That being said none of the food disappointed. We ordered the fried mozarella curds(heavenly and perfectly, lightly breaded, the dipping sauce was a bit sweet), the radicchio and grapefruit appetizer with honey and pine nuts(I might need to make this at home always), the delicata squash«salad» which was closer to a couple strips julienned squash, apple, and romano cheese(tasty but a bit silly looking and not terribly easy to eat), and the lamb neck pasta which was divine. All plenty for two people without feeling over done. The atmosphere is nice. Its a big, relatively open restaurant with the tables mostly packed together, but they do a nice job of trying to space out the seating. We were able to stay for three hours after our meal without having to worry about giving up our table for the next guests(which was a relief). I’d say if you’re in the area looking for a decent meal and bottle of wine to catch up with a friend it’s a wonderful choice.

A great place for happy hour wines($ 8 from 5−7pm), and they have a few small bites($ 5). The bar area is spacious and pretty. Good for a small group or an intimate conversation. Came for dinner and shared a few dishes: –Brussels sprouts($ 10) — tender and flavorful –Hot copa pizza($ 18) — full of meat, though the bottom got soggy fast –Tagliatelle($ 18) — it was an ok dish, nothing especially bad or good –Radiatori($ 16) — a very unique shape of pasta, it was ok –Duck($ 30) — chewy and a pretty small portion –Chocolate torte($ 12) — very dense and rich Overall, good service and overall good food. I would definitely come back for happy hour at the bar just for the ambiance!

Review for food only: Great for groups and sharing, lots of vegetarian choices, and quite a few gluten-free options(though not indicated on the menu)! The pasta in the ragu was cooked perfectly al dente, which is surprisingly hard to find. The sauce was someone loose but nonetheless tasty. I loved the radicchio salad– an interesting balance of sweet, spice, bitter, and umami. If you don’t like radicchio, skip it. Pizza: a little too much flour on the dough, but a great app to share. Delicata squash salad: a beautiful presentation though the flavors fell a little flat and one note. This dish could have benefited from salt or heat.

Today I enjoyed a very lovely brunch here with my friend and sister. The service, food and ambiance were all excellent. To start, we shared the Bombolini(which were essentially 3 warm biegnets, filled with jelly — amazing!) Then I had the pizza with duck egg, which was great — the crust was chewy and perfect. My sister had the mushroom omlette, and my friend had the bacon, egg, and cheese calzone — they both thoroughly enjoyed their food too. The side of potatoes was also noteworthy. Finally, the coffee was fantastic, and the bloody marys were some of the best I’ve ever had. I cannot wait to return!

Really massive loft-esque restaurant with a slight rustic charm and mature feel to it. There is a ton of bar seating and dining tables for both small and large groups, so great for all types of dining experiences. The service was phenomenal — once they clear your plates, unless you request your check, they won’t give you your bill as to not rush you. My friends and I tried an array of dishes but my favorite was the pasta with pork ragu sauce, and also the pizza with the broccoli and cheeses. Food also came out reasonably fast.

The food here is very good. Hot coppa and cimini pizza had a kick of spice to it with the ham, and it was delicious. I’m not usually a fan of crust, but the pizza crust was doughy and chewy and very good. I chose the fregola with lamb neck and pecorino because I love lamb. I knew the fregola resembled couscous more than pasta, but the texture still surprises me anyway — in a good way. The lamb neck was flavorful and tender, and the pecorino added just the right amount of creaminess to the hearty pasta. The white wine(Riesling) is crisp, and it paired excellently with the food. I usually go for chocolate desserts, but I broke out of my comfort zone with the pear torta. The caramel, frangipane, and copious whipped cream were excellent additions. It was a good way to try a non-chocolate dessert. The décor and ambience is also very nice, with its dimmed lights and tiled floors. The staff is also very knowledgeable and helpful. My only complaint was that it took a while for me to get the bill, since I was sitting by a pillar and my server didn’t check on me. I also split the bill, and the check displayed it rather confusingly, with both amounts showing up on only one of the two receipts. I would have liked an explanation of the check when I got it, as opposed to my thinking that my card was swiped twice and calling the server over and then having it explained to me. Overall, I would come back. The food is simply sublime, and the staff is very friendly.

Came here on a Saturday at 6. I don’t know if people just don’t know about the place or what but it was empty. Very cool atmosphere and great design. Also a very cool bar. We ordered some wine and the radicchio salad and the octopus to start. The radicchio salad was great with a balsamic glaze and grapefruit. It was very good. The octopus was great. Its easy to totally botch octopus but this was grilled to perfection. And was sitting on a bed of cauliflower and cucumber in this custard-like sauce. Chewy but not rubbery. Delicious. For mains we got the margherita pizza, the lamb neck fagiola. The duck. And the pear pizza. The pizzas were both great. Awesome crust. Great ingredients. Especially the pear, tellegio, and brussels leaves one. Really really tasty combination. The lamb fagiola was also good. It had braised shredded lamb, and some really good sharp cheese. The sauce had a great balsamic bite to it. And the pasta was almost like a pearl cous cous. The duck was also good. Crispy skin. Nothing too out of the ordinary but good nonetheless. Just took a little too long to come out of the kitchen. But the absolute star of the night was the sweet corn pound cake. Holy s***. Cold dense pound cake. Not too sweet. Which is what make it so great. Topped with whipped cream and blueberries. And sitting on a bed of toasted coconut. Honestly one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. And probably cuz i don’t love sweet things. This was mild on sweetness and perfectly balanced. It was awesome. If you don’t get it you’re depriving yourself. Service was decent. No complaints. Nice bathrooms. Good wine. Whats not to love? We’ll be back.

I had an absolutely delicious brunch here last weekend! We tried the warm bombilini, which are like gourmet buttermilk doughnuts, the smoked trout and avocado salad, the duck egg Benedict salad – which, surprisingly came with bacon, and the amazing roasted potatoes. Everything was flavorful and I just wanted to keep eating. My least favorite thing was the apple crostata, only bec I would have preferred more apple. I was impressed, and will be back soon!

The Unilocal Meter just broke the five star rating on this new gem! It is rare that I give a 5 star rating, but Wine Disciples deserves it PLUS some extra stars. PLACE: the atmosphere is very exciting and trendy. The restaurant space is massive and connected to its smaller yet equally impressive wine room. It is very easy to have a stimulating conversation as the music is set at a very comfortable level. Bathrooms are extremely clean and well stocked with the basics. The wait staff is very knowledgable about the menu and courteous of the dinner conversations being had at their respective tables. FOOD: The suggested white wine was heavenly and a nice clean, crisp selection to end a long day of biking around the city. I started my dining experience with 6 oysters that were served with perfection on a bed of ice. A little lemon juice and they made for the perfect appetizer. They were well cleaned and chilled to the optimum temperature for taste and texture. Accompanying the oysters, I enjoyed the most sensational heirloom tomatoes I have ever tasted. They were farm fresh and served on crostini that nearly melted in my mouth. I could have made a meal from them alone. Next I enjoyed a pasta dish like none other. The tagliatelle pasta is made in-house and great care and skill are taken to ensure savory flavors are what you will remember. The radicchio was also sampled and was grilled to lock in mouth watering rich flavors. Beets were also ordered and were a favorite at the table. They were a perfect blend of earthy and sweet fall flavors. In to the desert. I had the Jersey peach. It was a warm peach half that had a crumbled cake-like mixture around it. Very sweet, very delicious and a definite repeat item! Our waiter, Justin, was very helpful with suggestions for the entire night and the manager Johnny was nothing short of a professional ensuring our dining experience was most enjoyable. This is the place to be for eating great food, drinking great wine and making great memories in New York.

Hot new restaurant! Make sure you bookmark and try this place out. The food here is so very well prepared and full of flavor. Each dish has an interesting ingredient. I ordered the pork dish for my main. The pork itself had a nice smoked flavor, and the peach halves on the side were absolutely delicious. For dessert the chocolate torte was great and make sure to get all the ingredients in one bite– gooseberries included. The décor is a very rustic and clean design. Very pleasing to the eye. High ceilings give it a very spacious feel as well. The tables and seating are very comfortable and well situated. The service was very attentive and they paid attention to make sure all the details were in order. I definitely will be back to dine again. #bravo!

I like the interior space wine list service and the food is off the hook. Try the grilled octopus and the market green salad. The food is creative and wonderfully prepared. The neighborhood has nothing like it. I work in the neighborhood and have tried the pizza a number of wine varieties and the chocolate dessert is a spiritual experience. Oh I’ve been a few times for wine and appetizers and dinner with friends and clients. Good has been outstanding and I like the music. Someone has been sweating the details

I really wanted to love this place since its so close to my office but I couldn’t due to lack of knowledge explained. Came in to order a few glasses of wine with my friend. Turns out their menu has wines by the glass in either ½ pours or full glasses. There is nowhere on the menu that explains that. On the menu, you see line one is by the glass, line two is by the bottle. So my friend and I sat at the bar and ordered 2 glasses each. The bill comes and its a $ 53 bill. For 4 glasses of wine??? I should have just ordered one of their overpriced bottles. They apologized for not being clear, but have it written in your menu, have it printed, take ownership over this. Sorry guys. for a $ 7 for a half glass pour, why would I ever come to this wine bar when there are 2 more in the area priced better?
