WIRED Store – 2013

This place is pretty awesome! I ended up here for 2 open bar events right before Christmas. One of them was sponsored by 10 and 15-​year McCallan and the other by Gin. I can’t remember what kind of Gin, forgive me. But it was delicious. The store in itself is pretty neato! There was a sensory room where you stand and see if different colored lights, images, and sound have an effect on your mood. There was a virtual reality head-​set where you can navigate through an apartment in Manhattan. A virtual road test game, an indestructible/​scratchable computer laptop on display. Super tall models selling Italian ties. The 2014 corvette stingray that I got to sit inside of with a glass of 15-​year McCallan. Oh! And a photobooth and both old and new school video games. Wonderful store and everyone that worked there was super informative. I had a wonderful time!

This glorified bigger-​than-​necessary popup* near Google is meant to sell cool tech gear endorsed in a publication I love. That said, you’d think such an organization could go through the trouble of notifying folks ONLINE that they’re closing at 5pm for an event so they don’t need to rush guests out the door
PS this is a holiday store, but I know the Unilocal data goons hate those, so I excluded that portion (plus I haven’t heard of a non-​holiday popup) — runs December 4 — December 22, 2013

Returned 12÷20÷13 for the Ben & Jerry’s freebie event: Currently a Scoop Shop exclusive as part of the massive Anchorman marketing push, scored some Scotchy Scotch Scotch in a cup. Line was handled fairly well and the flavor was pretty phenomenal, huge ribbons of perfect butterscotch with a superb boozy undertone. Wired Store redeemed.

I was here a few days ago for an event. This place is cool, definitely a place for «gadget maniacs». Guys that just buy tons and tons of gadgets. They also had the new 2014 Corvette Stingray on display. I tell you that car was a beauty. Yeah lets just say it did look like a car that costs more than $ 61,000. There were some video games you could check out, A TRON like game called Survivor were your line should not touch the enemy line and one of you just gets taken out. The WIRED store had some really great TV sets on display as well as Surface Pro 2. Photon Shower was an exhibit that was there from Delta, not sure if it is always there but it was an orgy for your eyes. Very cool to look at, not something that hurt your eyes at all. There was also a cool chair on the top level that look like it was made out of old computer parts and controllers, check it out. This story is for the gadget guys.
