Cute and cozy place; the ambiance is very good. Kevin Woon is the man! I have a very thick asian hair and for so many years I did not know of a good hairstyle that would suit me. He is fantastic! Kevin does an amazing job with men’s hair and particularly asian hair. If you show him a picture from a magazine he can replicate it. Also, he is friendly and accessible. The salon is cozy and welcoming as well. I love the cute little balcony seating area.

I have a long and complicated history with city hair salons. The love hate relationships. The good hair days only to be followed by oh-​dear-​I-​need-​a-​hat days. Then I found Woon through a super rave review from NY Magazine and have been a regular for the last 7 years. Kevin is a miracle worker. He figures out what your hair wants to do and makes it work for you instead of trying to battle it. Added bonuses: beautiful space, killer playlists, and, if you ask nicely, maybe a visit from Gahon the Bichon.

I leave WOON with a new look, happy and satisfied. Everytime. Yesterday, I had another great, fun hour with Kevin. He has cut my hair for 25 years and I wouldn’t have it any other way. He embraces zen and coupled with his humanity and sensitivity, the experience is simply holistic. He is professional, an artist and very cool. The setting, from the actual salon design to the music are special. I always say that he spends time with every piece of hair to make sure that it falls and fits with the rest (I have a lot of hair). And, the final touch — his signature — is only done when he is satisfied with his work. He is a perfectionist and the result is sublime.

I’ve been getting haircuts from Kevin Woon for over ten years, and they are far and away the best haircuts I’ve ever had. It feels cheesy to say, but, truly, Kevin is an artist. He really looks at your hair, at your face, really listens to what you want, and cares about the result. Everyone I’ve sent to Kevin has been thrilled with the result. Kevin is a laid back, unpretentious, gentle soul, with incredible skills. I can’t recommend him highly enough. When I’ve gotten haircuts elsewhere they haven’t held a candle to Kevin’s.

As a blue-​collar guy in his mid-40’s I find Woon to be the perfect balance: skilled artisanship without the fussiness of some of the larger salons. It’s a friendly place that I find relaxing to go to and I always leave with the haircut I wanted when I came in.
The price is on the higher end but after decades of getting inconsistent and just-​plain-​wrong haircuts, I realize now that this is what it costs to look my best. Definitely worth every penny.

I’ve been going to Kevin Woon for haircuts for over 20 years. Yup, count ‘em, two decades. Longer than this salon has been around, but all you need to know is that the man behind the name, Kevin Woon, should be cutting your hair.
As a 20-​something guy coming out of the hair-​mad 80s who went to Kevin for all sorts of creative haircuts, to an aging boomer wanting the best looks for my grayed-​out thinning locks, I’ve always gotten a Woon haircut that is new, current, appropriate and — this is really important — one that grows out well. Most people who haven’t spent the money to get a good haircut may balk when they don’t see chain salon pricing, but the amount of attention you get from Kevin should allay your fears.
Kevin really studies your hair while he thoughtfully snips away, giving you as much attention as the models and celebrities that he styles when he goes out to do editorial shoots. His specialty is to make your hair look effortlessly done, leaving natural napes and finishing hairlines with seemingly random yet precise twists and clips of locks. Even if you haven’t had a cut in a while and want it all taken off, he won’t go buzzing your hair off, preferring instead to cut away at the bulk gradually to let the shape form and evolve.
You really will feel taken care of when he cuts and styles you, but more importantly, you’ll get used to the compliments and still love the style a month or more after you visit him… which will only make you eager to go back. I know I still do… 20+ years later.

Ok so I admit I have an obsession with my hair. It affects my day if I feel that my hair is not «perfect». I have been going to Woon’s for the past 4.5 years and I will not let anyone else cut my hair besides Kevin. He always does a great job and listens to how you want your hair and about your concerns. He works late so I’m always able to get an appointment after work. I don’t color my hair but Michael is great to chat with and they’re all really nice. Love them! ^^
