So much more than what I was expecting out of a $ 23 mani/​pedi! Judy did a great job on my nails and the rest of the staff was incredibly friendly. I smudged my nails before they were dry and they fixed them for me in seconds without a problem.

I can’t believe it’s almost been 2 years, but I still get my nails done by Mary and I still think she does an amazing job! She has great attention to detail, and always makes sure to do my nails how I like them. Very reasonable prices too. I’ve only ever gotten acrylics done, but I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else in NY.

This place is accommodating, quick and beautifully done. Been here a few times over the past 6 months and have been happy with all my services. They are friendly and have a wide selection of colors both regular and gel. Massages are great there too!

Went to Yo Yo Spa for the first time during my lunch and I was pleasantly surprised. 4.5 stars surprised! Very clean, well-​cared-​for spa and you can watch NY1 while you’re getting your mani. Good service, quick, $ 10 and a frequent client card for $ 5 off every 5 visits. I like it. I highly recommend Yo Yo Spa; I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

Now between 2 – 3 stars. I come occasionally for mani pedis and they are usually decent, quick but efficient and nails look good.
However, today my mani pedi was just skin and bones. The manicurist did not clean under my nails or buff them at all, and for goodness sake I wasn’t even provided bowl of water to soak my nails. This is now less than basic, and if she could’ve done less, she would’ve. Just unbelievable and disappointing. The person next to me seemed to be getting a normal treatment though but this place has lost me.

The woman was so RUDE to me while I was sitting in an unoccupied chair waiting for my friend to get her manicure– I brought her in as a customer and I am a regular customer. She embarrassed me in front of the other customers, there was NO REASON for this nasty attitude. I will NEVER be coming back here. Spring Nails across the street is a nicer and cleaner environment with a civilized staff.

This spa is frills and all. Its clean and fancy. My nail technician Helen was amazing! For a $ 20 mani pedi /​$ 8.50 mani in a clean spot, the price really can’t be beat!

Very decent job for $ 24 mani/​pedi. My sister and I were a bit late for our appointment, but were accommodated immediately. Both mani and pedi took 40 min. They could have done a better job on the dry skin on my feet, the girl barely rubbed the soles. but the nails look nice on both hands and feet and have not chipped so far (3 days and some cleaning already done).
Good selection of colors, not the cleanest looking tables, but comfy massage chairs.
So, generally I would have given it a 3 star if it weren’t for the very appropriate price.

Yo Yo Spa is located close to my office and I go there when I need a quick and simple manicure. There’s rarely a wait and the technicians are quick but careful. I’m usually on my way in ~40 minutes, and you can’t beat the price: $ 10 for a manicure.
I will add that I had my nails done yesterday and already have two small chips, but my nails always chip within 2 – 3 days if I don’t get gel, so I’m not the best barometer in that regard.

In search of a quality nail salon since my regular spot closed, I finally found yo yo spa. I was very skeptical since it was cheap ($ 23 mani pedi $ 20 in the summer). And so packed you’d think they’d rush through your nails. Not the case! Everytime i go they take their time and they last almost 2 weeks with no chipping. I always recommend to my friends.

It was amazing I’m outside doing the review and the place is beautiful and I enjoyed the gentle mani and pedi.
I was walkin due the sign for $ 23 for both mani and pedi to be done. I was token care of immediately which was a bonus to this review.
With in no time I was done he took care of the details of no cuticles being cut which was respected. Also his name was John and I will be back soon I love this place and it was a random thing for today.
All in all John took care of I sat under the dryer for a few and it was dry in time for me to go to lunch as well as my toes. It’s to cold to post them now due to the color not showing inside but outside its beautiful for the fall.

I came back again and this place never fails.
Although it is busy, make sure you call for an appointment! (This shows how great they are at doing what they do!)
This time, I got a gel mani and a pedi for my vacation.
The mani and the pedi lasted more than a month! Pretty crazy since the pedi wasn’t even gel.
Prices are affordable, the staff are all friendly and nice.
I think this may be my favorite place to get my nails done.

Absolutely terrible service and attitude from the owner. Will not be returning and you shouldn’t either.
I’ve given this place way too many chances.
I came in on a busy Wednesday afternoon to get a regular manicure. I was told it was going to be a 30 minute wait which I had no problem with. Three people came in after me to get a mani pedi and they were seated before me… ok…
About 20min later I’m finally seated to get my manicure. Less than half way through the base coat application the store owner tells the other girl to go do another girl’s pedicure. She speeds through my entire manicure and then rushes me off to the drying station. She DROPS my purse on my lap and walks away. You’re definitely not expecting me to tip you with that attitude?! So I don’t. After about 10min of drying my nails I get up to leave. I say «bye» and all she does is give me a death stare. I don’t need this s!$@ from nobody!

I went to Mary as per the overwhelming suggestion on Unilocal.As I’d hoped, she did a great job and for an excellent price. My only disappointment was the lack of massage. They offer all these massage extension packages, but do not include any more than a regulation 10 SECOND manicure or pedicure massage.
She massaged my feet for literally 15 seconds max. And the massage is probably what I love about a pedicure most. At the salons I’m used to, you get at least a full minute massage, going all the way up to your calves. She massaged the bottoms of my feet for ten seconds.
Then for my manicure, I wondered if it would be the same thing. And it was.
But the polish looks great, I loved the massage pedicure chair, and it was cheap.
FYI, the pedicure flip flops they give to you cost $ 2 if you decide to keep them. Which I did not. Which raises the question of if they reuse the flip flops…

I’ve been coming here for the past 6 months since I moved from LA to NYC. Cathy, is the only person that does my acrylic nails.
She doesn’t talk much but that’s what I like about her. I always get an acrylic fill with gel and a pedicure. Price is around $ 60 not including tip.
I like that fact that they do acrylic nails here and their gel color section is pretty darn good. They have a wide variety of glitter colors that I’m in love with!
However, I’m not thrilled about the pedicures. I feel rushed and I think they don’t do the best job as in they are not very thorough. They spend only like 20 minutes total on my feet. I guess its because in NY everyone is such in a rush rush rush to get somewhere but when I’m getting my nails done or a pedicure, I will make time for that and I expect them to take their time and do a good job.
Tip: I would recommend making an appointment. If you walk-​in, you risk going at a bad time and having to wait.
Lots of girls come in here for regular manicures or gel manicures and they seem to get them in and out pretty quick so if this is your thing then this might be the place for you.

Thanks to all my fellow Unilocalers here, I called 2 hours ahead and managed to get a spot with the infamous Mary, who actually is the only non-​Asian/​Chinese person working at Yo Yo Spa that night.
Which brings me to another point — these employees were totally gossiping among themselves the entire night in Chinese. Especially when this one dude came in and wanted a foot massage and everyone was trying to dodge it — hilarious, but a little rude at the same time.
Mary was as everyone says — very thorough with my foot and hand cleaning and did not cut my cuticles to the point of pain, which unfortunately, some nail salons have done. My finger nails were painted in a light opaque pink and was very evenly coated on all of my fingers which can be hard since I have ridges in my nails, Feet felt clean and she took care of my cracked heels. Everything was very cleanly done, all for $ 21 for a mani and pedi!
I did not once feel dirty at Yo Yo Spa, which is really important.
Like any other nail salon, I wouldn’t expect top-​notch service. However, at Yo Yo Spa, you can get your nails done NICELY for a very reasonable price, especially in NYC.

Dropped by here after reading the Unilocal reviews and for the $ 20 combo.
The salon is really conveniently located next to the subway, so its not too hard to get to. I came during the day on a weekend, and they had enough staff for walk-​ins.
They have the typical pedicure massage chairs and service is friendly and efficient. The experience wasn’t very memorable, both on the negative and positive side. The spa was never at capacity, but their was a pretty steady flow of people in and out and it definitely seemed like they have a healthy population of regulars.
