Yoshi Sushi

Yoshi Sushi was my boyfriend and mine’s favorite sushi dinner spot. Decent prices, Delish rolls, Great service, clean restaurant. There was a gas leak incident back in November… I haven’t walked over there in a while because it was closed for so long. I would be very sad to see this place go.

I bought 2 vouchers with Unilocal.And the place is close. I need my money back and i don´t find the way to talk with someone. It was the first time that i tried Unilocal.I can not believe that they don´t check about the business that they promote. I need the 30 dollars back that the company steal me!

Came on a friday night. Walked in and was seated promptly. The server seemed a bit busy, as she works alone. Took our order (menu doesnt have that big of a choice for specialty rolls) The rolls is ok sized, but the unagi roll seemed, small. Very small. One order is about 2 pieces the size of my thumb.
Wouldnt Recommend others here.

Fast delivery, serviceable sushi rolls.

Great find in alphabet city. Lots of fish in the rolls. Not all rice like some places. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Make sure to redeem the voucher from Unilocal $ 30 for only $ 15.

This place is a great find. The best Sushi I’ve had, they’ve got the largest selection to choose from that I’ve seen & the quality of the produce is beyond compare, prices are reasonable too. Definitely recommend.

I just ordered through seamless for delivery and my mind is honestly blown with how quickly this food came. Seamless estimated it would come in 50 minutes, which I was bummed about because I’m feeling lousy and not up to planning ahead. Me want food now. But, I figured the lunch special of 3 rolls + a soup or salad for 10.99 was worth the wait. WELL BOY WAS IT BECAUSE IT CAME IN 9 MINUTES!
9 minutes. I can’t believe it. How did they even do it? Is it some sort of sorcery? Holy cow. 9 minutes.

Absolutely great sushi! Very responsive and courteous wait people. Only drawback is that they tend to clean around closing (within an hour) and smells like cleaning products. Not a great combination.

Ordered delivery for dinner. This time the sushi tasted more fresh. The rolls were a lot neater. We ordered 9 rolls in total. I really like the spicy yellowtail.

Ordered delivery and it was insanely quick. Although seamless told me it would take around 50 minutes, I got my food in about 10 – 15.
The food itself was pretty decent. Exactly what I’d expect from delivery sushi. I ordered the rainbow roll, mango salmon roll, spicy tuna roll, and crunchy shrimp roll. I think my favorite was the crunch shrimp roll due to the textures, but the spicy tuna came in a close second. I would not, however, recommend the salmon mango – it just doesn’t taste as good as you think it would.
Rolls on average are around $ 4 – 6, but special rolls can go up into the double digits. Three of my rolls actually came in the Autumn Special, which included a choice of miso soup or salad. I opted for the miso soup, which was a great way to help the sushi along.
Overall, I would recommend delivery due to quick service and the sushi was pretty decent as well!

I ordered 3 different rolls — tuna, salmon and yellowtail. I received 3 salmon rolls which resulted in stomach issues. When I called the shop to ask why they gave me 3 of the same rolls, they claimed that the Spicy Mayo makes everything taste the same. It’s nice to know they think I am an idiot.

Found this restaurant while it had a 20% discount (let’s be honest, that’s why I choose it) but it was sooo good and exceeded my expectations. The duck spring rolls are amazing!

This is my favorite sushi restaurant in the city.
Their food is always delicious and fresh. The atmosphere is small and cozy which is nice for dates or dinner out with friends.
I’m surprised they only have a B rating, but that doesn’t put me off one bit. I’ve enjoyed this place for the last couple of years and they’ll continue being my go-​to sushi place.

My husband and I walked around look for a sushi restaurant and we stumble upon this place. We order fried oysters and sushi and sashimi combo for two. The food was delicious and we love the wasabi mayo that came with one of the rolls. There was only one waitress and she was attentive and friendly and made sure we were enjoying our meal. I am glad we came upon this place and I would definitely go back.

Preliminary Review, as I am still eating in th retaurant.
1. My soup had no tofu pieces. My friends had two tiny specks
2. The Unilocal deal is only for dinner apparently but only on first check in. So first checkin should be for dinner if you want the 10% off
3. Waitress was awful– more to come.

I can’t believe I totally forgot to review Yoshi Sushi! I came here with a friend and loved it. I got the Paradise roll, which is shrimp tempura, spicy lobster, and fried banana wrapped in soy seaweed. It was so good. I’m almost positive my friend got the Pink Lady roll, but could be wrong. Anyway, the place is adorable — great for a friend date or romantic date (though it’s tiny). Service was fast. We used scoutmob and got 50% off. I’d DEFINITELY return!

Ordered delivery from this place because they have 20% off deal on seamless, so me and my friends just wanted to splurge a bit so we got the 12 roll yoshi party platter, which comes with 3 miso soups, 10 regular rolls, and 2 special rolls for $ 65 +tax, BUT after the 20% the total came out to be $ 63, including a $ 5 tip for the delivery. I’ve posted some pictures of the quantity of food so you guys can go check that out later. For the rolls you get to pick from a big list of offerings, and they have some that are pretty «special» but on the regular roll listing for some reason. So they have ones that are pretty lame like cucumber roll which costs $ 4, but u can just not choose that and go for choices like dragon roll and rainbow roll, both of which are like $ 9. The special rolls section are alright, I feel they’re just bigger because they stuff the insides of the rolls more than the regular rolls.
As for the taste, the tempura ones were pretty tasty, but the ones with fish didn’t really taste much of fish. The taste was rather masked by the sauce or by the other things in the roll. Oh and for some reason this place doesn’t really have salmon or something. I basically just picked the top 10 expensive rolls on the regular menu, and like one of them had salmon in it… and it didn’t even taste much like salmon. Still tasted good, just not salmon.
With the 20% off, I feel the price was quite justified, so for quantity of food to cost ratio, 5 stars. From ordering online to delivery, it was all within 30 minutes, which is very impressive considering the sheer quantity of the order and that we ordered at 7:30pm, right in the middle of dinner time. Oh and it was all somehow kept in their nice piece next to piece of sushi formation even with delivery, so that’s also quite impressive considering they’re biking. So speed of delivery 5 stars. Quality of food, 3.5−4 stars.

Really, really good! This is my roommate’s favorite sushi place in the area so I decided to try it when I saw that
had a 20% off deal. I completed my order at 10:28 PM (2 minutes before they stop accepting orders!) and my food arrived just 20 minutes later.
I specifically requested the tuna tartar appetizer without chives/​onions or other vegetables, and Yoshi followed through. That was a little fishier than I like, but the consistency and flavor were very good. I also ordered the Spicy Tuna Tempura Roll (tuna was eh, but the slightly sweet sauce and tempura flakes on the outside more than made up for it!) I’d also recommend the Spicy Crunch Shrimp Roll – not amazing, but good quality.
My one complaint is that they messed up my order by making one sushi roll a maki roll instead of a hand roll, but that actually worked to my advantage because I discovered that I preferred the maki. All three of the items I ordered were above-​average quality (but not amazing) and the food seemed slightly overpriced. My tuna tartar *appetizer* cost $ 8 for a not-​huge portion, and the rolls were $ 4.75 and $ 5. I guess that’s standard cost for decent Manhattan sushi, but I still don’t want to pay that much that often. Still, I’ll probably order from Yoshi again!

Yoshi Sushi is very REASONABLY PRICED & i like the unique special rolls they offer! the only problem with their rolls was the RICE WAS A BIT HARD (perhaps because we came later in the night & the rice wasn’t fresh?)
—-SPICY BOY= spicy king crab on top of a white tuna tempura & jalapeño roll… i liked it!
—-hollywood roll= salmon on top of a crispy eel & avocado roll, i liked my spicy boy better!
—-eel & avocado: $ 5.50 for the 6 piece rolls! mMm
staff was nice & i liked the presentation of our sushi. perhaps i’ll try Yoshi Sushi once more, but earlier in the night to see if that resolves the hard rice problem
