Not even the wonderful food and lunch special can substitute the fact that the staff is undoubtably the rudest I’ve encountered in New York City. Walk an extra block or two down 9th Avenue and find the next best Thai restaurant.

The best Thai tea I’ve ever had and great service. Calamari is awesome and curry too!

Pros: –Thai food is ok –Prices are pretty good for the Manhattan area –They have a salad and appetizer of the day to go with every meal. –On average, the price is around $ 10, which is cheaper than Yum Yum Too Meh: –I prefer Yum Yum Too, since they have a choice of salad or soup, choice of what appetizer to pick, and a much larger menu, although Yum Yum Too’s price is around $ 20. –There wasn’t a lot of options on the menu for Yum Yum Three in general. I ordered the udon noodles, which turned out to be too spicy for my taste buds, but overall it was pretty good. Other: –Note that they add gratuity to the bill(about $ 5 for our $ 18 meal) and they do expect a couple of dollars($ 3 – 4) as an additional tip. –When eating out at restaurants, always pay using cash, not credit card.

Despite — or perhaps in spite of – how many Ethnic restaurants in NYC, such as Indian, Indonesian, Vietnamese, etc., Thai Food is still adding a magical flavor to life itself. Even though it seemed like there is a Thai restaurant on every corner in Manhattan, we ended up here. Get the Thai Spicy Basil Sauce Wok Stir-fried, and go nuts. Yes, it was spicy, for each bite, I had many sips of water before the second bite. It was so good, and it was spicy. A slap in the face spicy, and I just couldn’t put my fork down. Note to self: If they say its medium spicy, it will burn like HELL. Three and half Unilocal

had lunch… nice place… clean…friendly service — food was a little bland. I ordered the pad Thai. They served a nice salad & two dumplings(good tasting) prior to the main dish. The pad Thai was ok… I had to order peanut sauce to really eat it. I would go back though. They have a nice bar & potential. The cook needs to take a little bit more risk with their spices. I’d leave the chicken in a little vinegar & water the night before to get rid of the poultry odor. All in all — give this place a chance — very nice people here.

Happy hour = $ 3 Thai beers One of us had Massamun curry w/tofu and a Singha beer. This was alright. And one of us had Pad Thai w/tofu and classic mojito. Pad Thai was good. Mojito was not. Not sure if this is a NYC thing, but they add 18% gratuity to the bill and then still want you to add extra tip.

The food was delicious, the service was decent, and the atmosphere was delightful. I orders the spicy basil fried rice. It was as spicy as I’m used too, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The facilities were quite clean, and the waitresses were very nice. Splitting the bill was also solidly simple.

Pretty disappointed. Nice looking restaurant but the food was very mediocre. The lunch special woon sen soup tasted like bouillon concentrate instead of the rich, tangy flavor that the soup is known for. The service was poor and the waitress was fixing her hair in the bar mirror for nearly 10 minutes while I was waiting for my bill. The redeeming factor was the pork chop. Although it was small, the flavor was good in comparison to the rest of the meal.

Eh, mediocre Thai food. Good happy hour but that really is about it. The pineapple fried rice was a bit bland and not as sweet or flavorful that I’ve had in the past. It’s not bad but it’s also not good.

I had always been curious about this chain but never had the chance to try it until recently. I got the Thai basil with chicken, no rice. It was good and the portion size was pretty substantial. I was glad to see it was actually spicy, not super mild to accommodate American palates like most places offer. I didn’t try any of their drinks but they look good, just hope they’re decently strong for the price; they do have a full bar. Waitress was nice and friendly but got my dad’s order wrong(he ordered red curry but she gave green curry). Not a big deal and he still enjoyed it(didn’t wanna bother sending it back) but you may want to confirm your order with her to be sure it’s right.

Went in for dinner early while in the city, we both ordered from the prie fix menu which was good value including appatizer, drink, main and dessert for $ 17. The waitresses had poor english, and come over to tell us they ran out of dumplings, so we ordered spring rolls instead, then they served them to us, only to take them away because they messed up :(they looked good. I had the duck with Pinot Noir sauce and it was amazing, and he had the pork which was okay, dessert was taro custard which was different but good. On the whole it was a good dinner

Yum Yum 3 is a great place for lunch only. Check out their prix fixe deal: for $ 8 you get a large entrée, a drink and an appetizer. It’s a dollar more than their neighbor to the north(the far superior Yum Yum Too), but YYT’s take out lunch only offers one additional side to the $ 6.95 lunch. Try the Thai Spicy Basil Lunch Special w/Chicken and either the Spring Rolls or the Chicken and Shrimp Dumpling. I always opt for the Thai Iced Tea. It’s a needed refreshment to go with the VERYSPICY Basil dish. I’ve never stayed here to eat, but they do offer great outside seating. My choice is always to get my food to go…

So I want to preface this with the waitress was SUPER nice… I know that for sure! What I’m not sure of is A) was she also just an idiot? B) were they just understaffed? or C) was she just in a lack of carbs induced stupor? Service was mediocre… at best! And honestly the two girls I saw working were definitely running their asses off. When I ordered the mussels special it didn’t come with bread. So then I asked for some(because honestly the broth was really yummy), she said they didn’t have any bread. Restaurant 101… that’s not ok people!!! I’m pretty sure bread is part of the food pyramid in most countries?!? Mussels and bread is like PB&J!!! Come on!!! So that solves it! The answer folks is C*…lack of bread induced stupor!!! Maybe all the bread was at Yum Yum 1 or Yum Yum 2!!! Bottom line… if you want to get filled up… don’t go to Yum Yum 3! 1 star for service and 3 stars because the food was pretty good actually! Waitress you earned that 2 stars average… you go girl!!! And I hope it affords you to get some damn bread… for yourself… so you can put that ass back on that you ran off tonight. *Honorable mention to management for not knowing how to schedule or stock their restaurant.

Yum Yum 3… before your revamp, I came for you for your AMAZING red sangria — not the food. After the revamp, there was a huge delay in obtaining your liquor license. I was really happy when I found out you were serving liquor again. I got drunken noodles and 2 pitchers of the red sangria to share between 3 people. The food is the same as always, nothing amazing — It’s not BAD, it’s just that after going to over 30 thai restaurants, I’m just not impressed. But forget that. I came here for the sangria! When I want to treat myself to something good, I would come here for this sangria. Which is why I was so disappointed. There was hardly any alcohol in it. It was pretty much juice. I probably had closer to a whole pitcher by myself and just felt like I was drinking fruit juice with lychee. Sadly, there’s no reason for me to come anymore. I’ve tried the sangria at Yum yum 2 and 1(1 doesn’t even have red sangria) and am disappointed. My sangria place will now be Sangria 46(which also has pretty sub par food, but at least the sangria is amazing each time).

So many Yum Yums around Hells Kitchen that I went into 3 different Yum Yums before I found Yum Yum 3. Services was lacking, the food was fine. Nothing special. There is better places for Thai but this will satisfy a craving. Small and can be crowded.

There’s just superabundance of Thai lunch special choices in Hell’s Kitchen. Speaking of which, Yum Yum 3 is one of my favorites. For a lunch combo set for $ 8 that includes appetizers, soup or salad, an entrée, drinks and dessert, that deal is hard to beat! I started my lunch with a glass of thirst quenching Thai ice tea followed by shrimp Tom yum soup. For main course I chose Thai spicy basil with chicken served with jasmine rice. I also love the idea that it was serve with crackers(break it in tiny pieces and mixed it together with the dish). It was filling and delicious. We capped our lunch with the home made coconut ice cream. The food and the service truly exceeded my expectations, for $ 8 one will assume that things here are substandard, that was not the case at all. I will definitely recommend this place for lunch.

Excellent service! Place closed in 30 min upon arrival and were about to close the kitchen. They graciously took us and delivered our food with a quickness and a smile. Food was delicious! I’ve had my fair share of pad thai, curry, and thai teas but all were up to my high asian food standards. Quite a little gem on restaurant row. Definitely going back.

Yum Yum 3 was YUM-my. My mom and I decided to try this place out after seeing Yum Yum 1, 2 and 3 within two blocks, which we decided was a very good sign. A very good sign, it was. We arrived at 5 pm, just in time for the three course early bird special, which also comes with a free drink. I was a bit bummed out that the Lychee Lemonade was the only drink that happened to be excluded from the special, even though it was only $ 4 and most other drinks were $ 3.50 anyway. Despite that initial start, I was extremely excited once I saw my chicken & shrimp dumplings come out. These pockets of perfection are worth coming for on their own. Being a huge fan of shumai, I loved these bigger, chicken-filled shumai hybrids. Next, I had the most glorious curry chicken that I have EVEREVEREVER tasted EVER. Warning: It’s super spicy, even though I don’t remember the menu forewarning this spicy explosion, but trust me it’s amazing. All the vegetables are fresh and crunchy, and the chicken was oh so tender; I couldn’t believe my taste buds. The sauce. OMG the sauce! I could pour it over anything. I need more of that sauce. For dessert we had some sort of a bread pudding with a coconut drizzle, which was also delicious, but is it bad that I wanted more of that curry sauce? Obsessed. Being as though I live right by Yum Yum, I’m nervous that I’ll be here everyday. Maybe I should alternate yum yum 1,2 and 3, so that they don’t realize how often I’m there.

If a sequel doesn’t play up to the original, then the triology might just be a bad idea … at least on Bangkok Boulevard( ). For the subpar standards that is the Yum Yum empire, YY3 takes mediocre Thai to a new low. The service is poor, the ambiance is strange, and above all — the food is extremely below par. The touristy vibe is very much alive, especially as it gets closer to 42nd St. That’s not to say it’s completely full of suburban America, but the chances are high. During most peak dinner hours, the place gets packed and dinner for groups becomes next to impossible. Having spent a lot of time in the hood, I’m familiar with the Yum Yum strengths in noodles + soups, but YY3 just doesn’t cut it. The soups are often too bland such as the tom kha or tom yum. Both are straight bland, just simply not enough seasoning. Then there are the noodle dishes themselves. everything from pad thai to pad see yu, which are ok but for some reason sweet. I’ve asked the staff to keep it non-sweet but they tell me it’s the flavor of the fish sauce. I’d be inclined to believe if all the other 20 some Thai places were similar. But thankfully, they’re not. Then there is the service. They get snippy at times, though totally understandable given the crowds and tight space. The spillover from YY2 and the original Yum Yum happens far too often and this place gets stuck with additional crowd management and guests are stuck wtih leftover Yum Yum. There are so many quality places along 9th Ave, don’t settle for the 3rd best Yum Yum on the block.

I was running errands in the area & thought I’d pop in and grab dinner. There seems to be several locations of Yum Yum… I’ve always wondered if they were owned by the same people??? Reviews & ratings seems to vary a lot between locations. So perhaps they are independently owned & operated. Anyway, popped in to this one. Service was fine. Nothing great in terms of ambiance. I tried the Roti appetizer(not the best I’ve had). My appetizer was one of the spicy curry soup with chicken & noodles, was good. Large portion, enough for leftovers the next day. Reasonably priced.
