Ordered. Order never came. Called no answer. 1 hour and 15 min later. I called EatToGo to get a refund. They said they had cancelled the order because they could not get ahold of the restaurant by phone or the order online method. Don’t know why they are still in business.

As a strict kosher-keeper, my options are limited in the Heights, and today, Chop Chop was mysteriously closed, Grandma’s was out of shakshuka calzone and cheese bourekas, and Lake Como didn’t pick up the phone. Oy! I’ve eaten at «Yummy»(hardly…) Sushi Falafel at least five times. I’ve never been impressed. The sushi is far from fresh, the delivery is slow, and the falafel is inedible. But desperate times… So, today I ordered a crispy chicken sub and fries, via Seamless. I received an order confirmation ten minutes later, estimating delivery in about forth minutes. That was an hour ago. I wish I could tell you how it was, but I’ve called four times and let the phone ring for upwards of 30 rings each time. No go. This is the last straw. I can’t believe I’m actually rooting for a kosher restaurant to close, but I am.

I hope their falafel is better than their sushi. Quite possibly the worst lunch I’ve ever had. Ordered delivery & they forgot my soda & salad dressing. Sushi was chewy & flavorless.

I can find a positive in most anything but I’m afraid I can’t find one at Yummy Sushi & Falafel. I’ve given it at least 4 tries and every time it’s worse. Red flag, the place is always empty. Where are all the Kosher eaters in the neighborhood eating? Not here. As for décor, there is none. Place is reminiscent of a bare bones school cafeteria complete with grumpy kitchen staff. Now let’s talk food… No other words to describe it except for ABSOLUTELYTERRIBLE. My spicy tuna and salmon rolls were pale and in no way sushi grade. I’m still in shock I actually ate it. My son had kosher hot dogs and fries. I literally had to pat the fries down with napkins to absorb all the oil. Wish I had seen the review that said«this is not kosher» and«don’t risk your health» before eating at Yummy Sushi & Falafel. Save yourself the trip and go to Sushi Yu between Cabrini & Ft. Wash instead.

As much as it pains me to write this, it must be done. I got takeout from this place a few months ago, and the place was pretty rough around the edges. Imagine if you were in the middle of a move and construction and invited friends over for a dinner party. I waited a long time — amidst a lot of clutter and zero organization, but the food was pretty good over all. We decided to give it another try tonight, hoping they’d worked out the kinks. Turns out it’s only gotten worse. We placed a delivery order online, and 45 minutes later, they called to tell me that they were out of one item — half my order! The person who called was completely unapologetic, said they had a long line and many orders. When I asked if the cost would be refunded, he said that I would have to call back to handle it! Just awful customer service. Meanwhile, there’s no chance the other half of the order will be delivered on time. I’m sorry that this place can’t get its act together. We really wanted it to succeed. Needless to say, we won’t be giving it a third chance.

Shadiest sushi experience ever. I should have run when I saw the fish at the sushi counter: not much variety to begin with, and what little they had looked far from fresh — and as I would learn soon, tasted far from fresh. Restaurant itself had a vibe that made my local Chinese takeaway spots look luxurious. Counting my blessings I did not get sick from that dinner.

Worst eatery and an embarrassment to Kosher food. The one star is obligatory and not earned. For health and safety alone, stay away.

So disappointing. Alaska Roll was sub-par… go to other spots nearby. Falafel was stale. Ordered falafel pitas, which came with all the wrong ingredients… not sure how because it was an online order, which they get a print-out of. I don’t know of other falafel places nearby, but I’ll either find one or make it myself rather than order from Yummy Sushi Falafel again.

Ordered Sushi from here only due to lack of sushi places in the area. Prices were a bit on the high side especially for entrée dishes. Rolls and sushi were also high but not as overpriced. Delivery took just under 1 hour which was as promised. Food looked good, however when I started to eat it became very clear to me that the looks were where it ended. Rolls were very chewy and not tasty at all. Seaweed that wrapped the sushi was so tough that I ended up peeling it off and not eating at all. Fish also didn’t seem fresh. Selection is limited on the menu and they also offer Falafels which judging by other reviews I didn’t even consider ordering from here. Two stars and that is very generous for this place.

How can you mess up falafel? It tasted like it had been cooked in the same fryer that had been used to cook fish. French fries were not given to me even though I paid for them. The guy working there looked puzzled to see me.

Yummy Sushi is not yummy and the falafel made me feel awful. The California roll was the smallest I’ve ever seen. 6 pieces the size of quarters. My daughter was still hungry. The falafel pita was tiny and disgusting. The falafel was green and smelled strongly of fish. It had chucks of tomato, lettuce and lots of dill pickle slices. The smell of the fish and pickles made me sick to my stomach. Couldn’t eat it. The only good thing was the tempura vegetables, but only slightly. There were 2 slices of sweet potato and 3 slices of eggplant. The tempura batter and dipping sauce were delicious, but not enough to redeem this mess of a dinner. More than $ 20 and we’re still hungry. 2 thumbs down from us.

I really want this place to succeed but I’m only giving it 4 stars for now. I will change it if the next time I go things are better. 1) Great Falafel. 2) Great location for the Heights Jews! 3) Great Prices. 4)(And this is the complaint) It’s not ok for the guy running the register/falafel bar to just disappear for 15 minutes. I was waiting to pay(!!!) as were others. I asked for a Miso Soup as well. Didn’t come. So I got up and asked if it was coming. Was told it was. Never came. When the guy finally came back and I paid, he didn’t even mention it. In conclusion, I hope they get their act together and I look forward to trying them again.

My order: 3-roll lunch special(tuna, spicy tuna, tropical) for $ 14.10 after tax This is a hole-in-the-whole joint that serves maki(sushi rolls) and falafel, separately! Go for a quick bite although it is small and has three tables max but it’s better as take-out or pick-up. Pros: –Ingredients look fresh –Big pieces of tuna –Prices are more affordable than average sushi places Cons: –Skip the salad(lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, dressing). I thought the ginger dressing tasted like a new tangerine dressing but it wasn’t one. — Spicy tuna was chopped into large pieces instead of diced into smaller ones – however, it tasted fine –The tropical roll(avocado, mango, cucumber) ingredients just do not complement each other well – my fault for choosing it. *I would go back to try the falafel in pita

When this place opened I was very excited but I have to say overall I’m not happy. Falafel is a fast food. It shouldn’t take close to 20 minutes to get a sandwich. They should move the deep fryer to the front and speed things up. All this running around to the back of the shop is kind of annoying. Even when they get the falafel out of the fryer and up to the counter it seems to take them forever to stuff the sandwich. If you order a platter they put on the hummus and baba ganouj sides like they are gold. You might as well not order. Quality is OK but not great.

Manhattan-quality kosher sushi at Brooklyn prices. What’s not to like? We were so excited when they opened up before Pesach. We now go there about twice a week. Check out their sushi platters… a large one we ordered on Friday afternoon served over 10 people at our last Shabbos meal. It was amazing, and everyone was raving over the quality. Great hours, open late during the week.

This place is teeny tiny but has friendly staff and serves fresh sushi — haven’t tried the falafel yet. Have only gotten take out and delivery. The selection is very basic, but does the job, and is WAY more reasonably priced than Sushi Yu. Love seeing new places pop up in the ‘hood so I’m hoping more folks give it a shot!

The facts: Does this place actually serves sushi AND falafel? YES! Do they have a sushi roll with falafel as an ingredient? No. but they should. Is the food indeed kosher? YESINDEED! Is the food yummy? The sushi was fresh tasting and I didn’t have any gastro issues to report post consumption. I haven’t tried the falafel yet. Will the store serve other random unrelated kosher foods such as froyo, pizza, plantains, burritos etc. No, the place is too darn small to add more random, unrelated foods and I don’t know how they would fit anymore words on the sign out front. Credit card minimum? 10 dollars. Delivery? Yes! Minimum 15 bucks. Brown rice substitute in rolls? Soon –maybe next week –they’ll start doing that the guy said. Is there seating? There are three little tables but the place is dimly lit in a not very cozy sort of way. Definitely opt for take out. I’m holding my rating at 4 stars until I try the falafel.
