Ambassador is the king of chicken wings! However within the last year the quality of food has gone down. It is So sad… the c wings use to be bigger and they use to make every order fresh. Last time I went I had refried chicken. No one likes that taste. What happened. .I know… they recently opened more locations and are not paying attention to what matters… QUALITY.

Fish not fresh and tasteless, mac & cheese taste like kraft, french fries soggy. Needless to say, I won’t be eating here again

I love me some chicken wangs! So while in Newark, my wife and I heard about the Ambassador Fish & Wings spot on South Orange Avenue form a friend of hers who swears by them having the best wings in town. So, we drop in on them before we left Newark. It reminds me of a Chinese takeout place. The location there in is not ethically pleasing to the eye but I enjoy places like this. It unexpected and most good foods come from areas and places that people find seedy. So, for those of you who want wings that are not greasy, overly salty and crunchy enough for you to sink your teeth into, then this is the spot. Just don’t forget to bring cash. Believe you me, once you have one, you will want another. Their just like Lays potato chips. Can’t wait to go back for more WANGS!!!

Best fried chicken in the world!!! Whenever I am in Newark visiting I stop by here and order the wings by the pan.

Staff is friendly. Food comes out quick. Chicken gets better after it has cooled a bit and the seasoning has settled. this place is strictly takeout. No seats or tables and anyway it’s not in the best area so best get your chicken and keep it moving!

Okay. …so the location is lousy and intimidating; located in the heart of the ghetto (South Orange Ave), keep your guard up, but the wings and fish is delicious. I think it’s the batter. I placed a large order for a family gathering last January and the guest are still talking bout those chicken wings.

Great fish and chicken. It was a lot better than expected. The portion size was more than enough and the food overall was on point. It did however take about 30 minutes to cook. And I went late night. It’s not the safest area so I was constantly on lookout for anything suspicious. As far as food it was great tho. I’m definitely going back

visited this establishment based on reviews and to my surprise I was not disappointed. The wings and shrimp were delish! The fish was good too but in my opinion needed a bit more spice. The other reviews pertaining to location and surroundings were unfortunately accurate as well. Although it’s nestled next to a McDonald’s and rite aid, this is a kind of place where you should stand in lit areas at all times. Other than that based on food this place is a definite MUSTTRY!

Like everyone has already said… this place is the palace of fried chicken… well it is. And this place has expanded to include two additional locations… scary ass Clinton ave. and Springfield Ave right outside of my hometown(Maplewood, NJ)… Im reviewing the Springfield Ave and Clinton Ave. so there is not much difference in any of this delicious chicken locations — its about surroundings… So South Orange Ave although the original may be a hell no purely from long wait times… everyone is in love with these chicken and its in the heart of the ghetto– which means its a crazy wait for fried chicken. Clinton Ave can be better as far as wait times. but damn then you have all the crazies around the location… better parking less wait times great chicken. but crazies. Ambassador is amazing for fried fish, shrimp and chicken. and the fires… whoh. they are perfection. Of course I have never had the rice option. but I think its ok. I mean my coworker ate it. lol

Well, I’ve been eating this chicken for a couple of years, I’ve read the reviews, I must admit I call it crack Chicken!!! it’s soooooooooooooo addicting, whenever I go, i never order less than 20 wings, it’s like a lays potato chip, you can’t eat just one…

So yeah… the chicken at this place is crazy addictive. Also it doesn’t really seem to matter if you call ahead for an order though I do it anyway. If you do call ahead I’d say give it about 15 mins and you’ll prob sit there another 10 mins depending on how busy they are. Also like Tuesday nights are slow

Crack chicken as it is called in the neighborhood is great. Bring cash come during the day and watch your surroundings. Despite all that it is some of the best chicken you can get.

these wings must be sprinkled with a little bit of crack because they are just that addictive and great for parties and events but the minimum order to be happy is the 20 pc

The fried chicken is addictive!!! Finally a place that seasons their chicken. Great to buy in bulk for parties. They were a hit at my recent event. I have to try the rest of the menu.

You know the phrase, «food so good, makes you wanna slap yo momma!» Well yeah… thats what happened. My 5 year old cousin LITERALLY slapped her mother when she told her she couldn’t have anymore, and this was after having three pieces. The chicken is fried thoroughly and is not too greasy. My family has«family dinner» once a month and this has become a staple. We have officially dubbed it «Crack chicken»

FIVESTARS at first bite… and maybe even the second or third bite, but a few more bites in on those wings, I could start to taste the grease. By the time I finished the first wing, I ‘felt’ the grease. Still good to the mouth, so I ate three wings. On that third wing, I started to fell ill. Not food-poisoning-ill, more like damn-I-just-ate-some-pure-trans-fat-crap-ill. That greasy, scratchy feeling stayed in my chest all night and in my throat till the next day. Great prices, vast menu, but no thank you.
