We happened to arrive just when a bus load of school children was unloading. The owners apparently are used to this and the kids seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was charming just to watch them out back with the farm animals. Inside it’s like you might expect. Rows of different varieties of apples. The folks there know which variety is good for eating or baking or pies, etc., and will give you good advice if you’re looking for something specific. We’d been clued in ahead of time by someone else to try the Snap Dragon variety, and they did not disappoint. We walked away with the largest bag they had. And a jug of cider. And a bag of another variety. OK, so this isn’t a five star restaurant or hotel. And maybe you wouldn’t make a special trip just to go see what amounts to a farm market that specializes in apples. But if you’re in the area and you like apples, it’s definitely worth checking out.
