Applebee’s

Just stay away!!! This particular Applebees is equivalent to dining on any one of Newarks street corners. When I walked in and after taking about 15 minutes to be acknowledged, right in front of me a server asks the host, «Why would you even sit them if our computers are down, now they will just have to wait!» No one came to the table to even offer water. We sat for another 15 minutes just because we were hungry. Again we were never acknowledged. We left and drove to Topps Diner in Kearny instead. How could this place even stay open?

Terrible service. I had one experience were I received my food on time. The staff is poorly trained, but at least the try to be friendly.
The food itself is what you would expect from Applebees, edible, but not much else

A BARTENDER THREATENED MY FIANCE. If 0 stars where a possible selection, it still wouldn’t be a fair rating. I’ve been to this location a few time and everytime its the same horrible experience. I vowed to never go again however after getting out of a movie theater which is across the street me and my fiancé decided to give it another chance.
First it took 20 minute to get any type of acknowledgement from the bartender so I decided to ask if we could order which got ignored. So when she (Donna) finally came back I said it a little louder so she could hear me. So finally drinks came, no big deal. Now me and my fiancé are having our own little conversation not even loud at all when suddenly the bartender chimes in our conversation. Wait so you didnt hear us ask for service but know your ears work to easedrop on our convo and butt in. So she gets engaged into our convo which was basically her and my fiancé testing each other being sarcastic and catty which was very awkward. So they both get mad at each other and the girl walks off. Know my fiancé starts talking to a guest who was also not happy with the service who was talking about it to her friend. Then the bartender Donna who is at the other side of the bar looks and hears their convo with her super sonar, and says «I will f**k that b**tch up, I dont give a f**k!». Wait what! So instead of us bringing it to another level we decide to bring it to the manager attention, we let him know about the situation and ask for the corporate number. Meanwhile when telling him, Donna keeps walking up to us from her side of the bar to listen to what was being said where he had to tell he in a stern manner to go to his office.
Everytime we go here its nothing but ignorant people behind the bar and takes forever for even a glass of water when theres not even alot of people at the bar. So that coupled with this experience is it for us. Sadly everyone in the area knows because we went to the next closest one which is 2 miles away in Kerny and it was literally no place to park and was no seats at bar and a line to wait for a table at 11:00 pm. They really have to get it together and find good people. There are no excuses for having such people as the face of a franchise.

I like apple bees a lot, but this location isn’t one of them, my burger wasn’t fresh, the bread was old, the French fried was old, over fried way too greasy, my blue moon beer wasn’t tasting good, they didn’t have orange slice, and the restaurant itself don’t have that smell, fresh, clean looking place, I will not go back to this location.

This Applebee’s is conveniently located in my area so I hoped this visit would be better than the 1^st time I visit. Wishful thinking…
After waiting 10 minutes for a seat in an empty restaurant over 20 minutes for our appetizers food comes out cold and drinks nasty all the manager can say to me is sorry for the inconvenience. Really How about working to make better service. Then the waitress comes and says I told him you all were waiting long but he isn’t willing to discount anything. Not looking for a free meal by a long shot but you could do more than just thank me for informing you of how horrible the service was. I am sorry but this is the 2^nd time

Okay okay where do I start ?
Applebee’s on Springfield Ave & Bergen.
This location is conveniently across the street from the Newark City Plex Movie Theaters. Which is good for a dinner and a movie date. But the one thing about this place that isn’t all that great which is why I gave it 1 star is only; the service.
The people here aren’t THAT rude but the animosity is there.
Plus the way the waitresses takes the orders needs to be worked on. I shouldn’t have entrées 5 minutes after my appetizers.
The cooks and waitresses need to communicate a lot better. The supervisors are great people and will pay attention to your needs as a customer in this restaurant.
The only issue is the service but the food is amazing. I cannot complain about the food no matter how many times I’ve been here. I only once had hair in a appetizer other than that no complaints on food. So I can only give it 1 star for satisfaction.
If it was for the food only Id give it a cool 4

The food’s good but the service is less than stellar. The wait staff seems miserable and move at a glacial pace. It’s definitely hit or miss. It took over 5 minutes for our waitress to appear and take our order. The beverages took ten minutes to arrive (beer in a bottle). If you’re very hungry, go elsewhere because you’ll be waiting a while!

Where should begin, I came here because of the new burgers commercial I had seen a month ago. I had a taste for a pub burger so I decided to see what they were working with. I am turned off by the quality ofbthe burgers at the fast food spots so I figured I’ll spend a few extra bucks and get something better.
I ordered a triple bacon cheeseburger medium of course (with a LIT) and it was good but they forgot the bacon on the inside it was busy so I’ll let it slide this time. However they lose a star because of that. The burger was on par with a good pub burger so I was happy with the taste. I sat at the bar and received prompt service. The bartender did a good job making my drink so that was the icing on the cake.
I have never had a real bad experience here and it is always clean. I am usually pissed off about the quality of service in this city but this isn’t one of the places that ended up on my crap list. I guess it depends on the crew that happens to be working to my good fortune I haven’t run into a bad one yet. I guess I’ll be stopping by when I have a taste for a burger from now on.

I went last night to celebrate my friends’ birthday. There was plenty of parking but we had to wait about 10 – 15 minutes before we could be seated. It didn’t even look crowded inside. smh. The service was ok but slow. The food was good. We had the boneless Honey BBQ wings and sweet potato fries as an appetizer. We each ordered a different entrée. The food was okay. Nothing amazing to rave about. The desert took forever to come out so we had to cancel it because we were going to be late for our movie time. I’ve been here a couple of times, but the once thing that never changes is that the service never gets better, they either are short-​staffed or the waiters are taking their sweet time to do their job! smh… Its a hit or miss if you come here but the good thing is their location. They are across the street from the movie theater.

Service is horrible here. None of the staff seem to care or want to deliver even basic service. Had to wait for a table even though there were at least 7 tables vacant. Server showed up after about 10min to say sorry that she forgot that my table was in her section. A beer and a red wine took another 10 min to arrive. Was so turned off I just left after the drinks. Never again.
