Good local place. It has a homey feel and the food was good. To me it felt more like eating at grandmas house. Great place for a quick lunch or a hearty breakfast.

Oh man… I’m torn. I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED! Lets start at the beginning. My grandmother and I walked in and the bells on the door chimed and we stood in the entrance for 8 minuets waiting. We were seen just not helped. We weren’t asked how we were, and it was quite rude behavior I must admit, by the owner, who was in the back hacking before she seated us and got our drinks. She didn’t wash her hands after she was just hacking in them :(Our table was dirty. Our cloth chairs were brown from dirt. The floor was dirty. Our server (her granddaughter) kept yelling in the back to ask questions from our table, «HEY GRANDMA!!!» The menu items were very fairly priced and our meal was good but very small. They were out of two items we ordered. I had a buffalo chicken sandwich and cream of mushroom soup. My company had the mushroom and swiss and was happy with the taste. Again, portions are very small. When it came time for dessert, we asked what kinds of pie they had and if they were fresh made. Our server did not know a single answer to any of our questions and had to yell in the kitchen to grandma again. «HEY! GRANDMA, WHERE DO WE GET OUR PIES?!!» The grandma was busy dying in the back with her coughing and managed to cough out «I BAKED IT» we politely declined. LOL. When we went to pay, a small child came from the kitchen with red eyes and was also coughing! Ill be lucky if i don’t get sick!!! I read some other reviews and had heard through word of mouth that the owner was rude but the food was ok. That is exactly my verdict. The place was dirty, constant coughing from the kitchen, and the food was just, eh. At least it was cheap. We went to another restaurant after we left there to wash our hand and get a little more to eat because were weren’t full but were to scared to eat any more food from there! EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK! I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED!

Relax with locals, good simple wholesome food. Country music soft in background. Well lighted. Corner lot. Try the pile up for breakfast, hearty country breakfast of eggs, bacon, hash browns and biscuits smothered in gravy. Smooth and mild coffee. We will be back!

Great home cooking in a good location right downtown near the square. Nothing fancy, but it is excellent food. And the berry pie was as good as any I have ever had.
