Excellent pernil and chicarone. Family style restaurant geared more for lunch and early dinner. Parking is a little tricky but there are always spots around. It is down the street from the Newark Police Department Emergency bureau.

These mom-​and-​pop Latin spots be killing me! No menus, no labels, I’m just supposed to know what to order? This spot didn’t even have food laid out cafeteria-​style or anything! You walk in and they’re just like, «What’s up? What can I get you?» I was lost. They recited what they had cooking… there wasn’t much. Talk about down-​home and homemade! My GF and I split an order of stewed chicken with yellow rice and beans. It was damn good! We sat down in two of their seven chairs and scarfed down that plate. Would’ve been better if they had hotter hot sauce. I swear, those Mexican spots in Cali got me craving for spice when I eat Latin!
