Lauren did an amazing job on my hair color, and wedding hair! She knew exactly what I wanted and made me feel so comfortable. Nikki worked absolute magic on my wedding day makeup, and my bridesmaids. I never felt more beautiful. My mom and sister hate wearing makeup, and she was able to do their makeup and make them feel comfortable and absolutely beautiful, which meant a lot to me. If you’re looking for people to do your hair and makeup for your wedding I highly recommend both ladies. They were so fun to have around before my wedding! They even traveled to Bethany Beach during Hurricane Joaquin and all the flooding, so I could have hair and makeup on my wedding! They ROCK!

My gloss team did an amazing job with my wedding. I got so many compliments on my hair and makeup, and everything held up the whole day/​evening. The team was prompt, professional, and flexible — I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else by my side on my my big day!
I also had my eyebrows done a few days before my wedding, and they have never looked better! No exaggeration!

I got my hair cut at this salon a couple months ago. The cut was okay, I wanted to take off about 4 inches, but my stylist kept reassuring me that she wouldn’t go to short, despite what I asked for. I ended up walking out with little more than a trim. After searching through alternate salons, I decided I would give gloss a second chance out of connivence. I called to make an appointment (10:30AM) and there was no answer after many rings. An hour or two later I called again and was instantly put on hold for over 10 minutes before I hung up! That’s unacceptable service, especially for a average salon.

I visited the Gloss salon off Main St. by the Newark Natural Foods. It was my first time there, and I had a great experience! I received a color and a blowout blow dry by Emma. I wanted to go bright red, and she knew exactly the color to use. It turned out great! The staff is super friendly. Usually I don’t converse much with my hairdressers because I’m a little shy, but I felt really comfortable with Emma and the staff. I’m definitely going to go back!

My hair dresser was extremely sweet. However, the cut and Color turned out so bad that I had to go back the next day. After that, I came home and played with it and it was still bad. I have an appointment with the manager in a few days. Honestly, I’d rather have my money back and go somewhere else than go back, but they aren’t giving me that option and I can’t afford to pay another $ 160 to fix this.
*UPDATE I went back and saw Tateum. She fixed everything. My cut and color both look better. Not 100% what I wanted, but as close as possible after my original disaster. She was very understanding and kind. I would love to go back and see her the next time I need my hair done in Delaware.

I went here after two unsuccessful bridal trials from my current salon and let me tell you, Taylor was a godsend. She was able to keep a curl in my hair (which my hair isn’t curl resistant) and style my hair exactly how I envisioned for my wedding. She also recommended hair extensions and was able to highlight them matching my hair color exactly. I really love that Gloss with come to your house with 3 or more services and it was great for my wedding day.
I would highly recommend Taylor and all of the gloss gals. It is pricey, but it seems that every salon is pricey these days. Thanks again for allowing me to be relaxed and feel beautiful on my wedding day.

rude team in many respects. Terrible gel manicures and face waxing. OK to great with hair — but uneven results. Too pricey for blow out ($ 60)

I had my highlights and haircut done today at Gloss with Emma and wow, she did a terrific job! I love the color and she was sweet and patient. See, I came in the door anxious as I had had a couple of bad hair jobs this past year and my hair looked brassy and unhealthy. Well, today that all changed! I walked out of the salon loving the new do and feeling more confident. THANK YOU, Emma! The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because when I called to make an appointment whoever picked up was quite unfriendly and rushed. It made me second guess whether I should go in or not but well, I am glad I did!

I see Lauren and absolutely love what she does with my hair. Her color work is beautiful and her cuts are always top notch. I go between styles constantly and we are always able to make my newest love work for my hair, which isn’t always easy.
I use the BB Bar as well for gel manis and really like Lindsay. My manis last about 3 weeks and still look nice when I go in for the next polish.

Color and a cut. Great work at a good price. I left with exactly what I wanted when I came in. Be sure to bring cash to tip! They do accept cards for payment, just not tips. (At the blow dry bar)

LOVE this place! Sam does fantastic work and really listens to what you want and makes it happen! The prices are very reasonable and I love that they use and sell bumble and bumble products. Gloss is my new go to for cut and color!

I couldn’t find a Unilocal page for the Gloss Blow Dry Beauty Bar (located at 77 East Main Street in Newark), so I figured I’d post on the main salon page. I know it recently opened.
My mom was throwing me a baby shower at Caffe Gelato this past weekend and I wanted to do a little something extra with my hair. I booked an appt online using the Pingup application, which was a breeze. Lindsay did an amazing job taming my thick, wavy hair and she gave me exactly what I was looking for. They offer some of their own Gloss BBB products, so I purchased the Miracle Treatment, which has worked great so far. Best of all, my blow out lasted 3 days! I wish I could duplicate it at home, but until then, I will go back to Gloss BBB next time I have an event in the area!
I also got an eye make-​up and lash application with Liz, who also did a great job. There was a misunderstanding about the price but they rectified the situation, which I appreciated.
I highly recommend the Gloss BBB and wish I had one closer to my home in CT!

I actually had my hair cut done at Gloss in the City (Wilmington), but couldn’t find that location on Unilocal,so I’ve used the Newark location as my check-​in. I recently grew my colored hair out and am now gray. To do so, I went extremely short in order to avoid the tell tale growth line. I’ve been trying to put together a new style to go along with my new gray hair. I definitely did not want what I call the typical «granny gray» cut but I seemed to keep getting just that cut via a few different stylists.
My appointment today was with Natasha (she’s new to Gloss in the City). When I first sat in her chair I nervously pleaded with her to just trim my hair in a way that I could achieve a workable style while I let my get some length to it. She noticed right away how nervous I was and calmly assured me she’d give me a nice cut/​trim. She totally delivered!!! I am thrilled with the direction my new cut is taking! Thank you, Natasha. I will definitely be making a return to your chair as a regular.

Gloss did on site makeup for my friend’s wedding and she looked amazing! I called to book them for my wedding, and they said they wouldn’t travel the 1 mile to my hotel because i wasn’t getting 3 people’s faces done. I have no bridal party. I offered to pay extra, and they said no. I still decided to book with them, but after thinking about it, decided that on my wedding day, I didn’t want to run around to differen’t places. I wanted everyone to come to me. I called again to confirm that they would NOT come to me to do my makeup. It was confirmed, and I canceled my appointment. They do good work, but even when I offered extra money, they still wouldn’t budge from their policy. I get it, but I will just go somewhere else. They could have made money on an easy job.

I went in today to get my hair cut because it was in desperate need. One often friends from high school is working there, and since she’s still in the learning process I got to be her «model» and got my hair cut for free. Liz did a great job and at the end Lauren came over and checked to be sure everything was okay. All the girls there seemed very nice and like they all knew what they were doing. I would definitely go back and recommend Gloss to my friends!

I have been going to Gloss Salon for about two years. I go to Lauren, and she is a charm to work with. I get both haircut and color with her. I have noticed how amazing her cuts are, I still get compliments on my haircut. even a month or two later. They grow out very naturally, and are easy for me to style. They sell Bumble and Bumble, I do love their products. an all around great experience.
