My favorite place for lunch!!! Especially if you want a healthy meal in the middle of a city that has lots of fried food!!! My advise is to try their chicken sandwich. It’s always on point for me! And the cook is super nice and accommodating bc he will customize your sandwich to your likings. On my sandwich, I get the usual lettuce and tomato. However, I always ask for grilled onions and grilled mushroom topped w lettuce and cucumbers and oil and vinegar(sometimes a little bit of mayo). All that for $ 6! Nothing more than good food is good customer service!!! Give them a try of you’re in the neighborhood for lunch. They always have plenty of CLEAN tables for eat in, unlike other Newark establishments
Disgusting. I actually gave them an extra star because they have outlets by the booths. They’ve got wi-fi too but hey, what’s the point if the employees don’t know what the password is. I came here for lunch. My friend chose this garbage over Dario’s Restaurant because they had wi-fi, such a big mistake. I ordered the hummus, grilled chicken platter with rice and sauteed potatoes and my friend had the coal stones, I mean, shawarma platter with rice and salad. The rice was hard. They were like mini oval shaped bricks. The potatoes were salty and cold. My chicken was dry, and his shawarma wasn’t dry. No, it wasn’t dry. There is no word to describe the lack of flavor and moisture in that shawarma meat. It wasn’t just dry, it was a vast desert of emptiness and no hope of return and remoisturization. And folks, guess what was on the hummus? Vegetable oil. How disgusting. I saw them scoop the hummus right out of a store-bought economy sized hummus container. Hummus isn’t even that hard to make. The worst part is that I saw the crusting hard stuff on top of the hummus when they scooped it out. It was at least an inch thick. As for service, it was drab. When we were finishing our meal, the cashier goes and takes out the garbage with me sitting right in front of her. Sorry, but I don’t like having garbage in my face when I eat. To make matters worse, she dangles the bag in my faces and asks if I was done with the food. The poor people who eat here every day, I hope that they are aware that there are far better eating establishments in the immediate area. And they did they get 2 stars instead of 1? Their music was awesome(Madonna’s Into the Groove played) and they sold orange juice with pulp.

Came here on a Friday afternoon for lunch, the place is situated kind of weird, the register is behind you when you are up to order, just a little awkward. The music was really loud and kind of annoying. I had the falafal with hummus special, it was cheap and delicious. The falafal had good flavor and were fried perfectly. I would have liked maybe some lettuce and some tzatziki sauce or something not as dry as hummus. They have a decent vegetarian selection as well as various Asian & curry dishes. Decent lunch place, would go back and try everything else.

Grill house opened this week and offers the full gambit of middle eastern bbq and faster foods. Falafel, shwarma, grape leaves… As well as american favorites, wraps burgers salads… all made to order. I had some fallafel and it was of decent size and quantity. The fallafel were larger than normal and tasty and the tzatziki didnt leave the slightly bitter taste as it usually does which was awesome. The Pitas were fresh and thrown onto the hot coals for a good airy reheating. Excellent falafel. The only problem I had was price. 3 for a falafel is normal… 4 is pushing it… But 5 dollars for just a falafel sandwich? tack on a drink and some rice or a bag o chips your pushing 8 bucks. And the platters while rather large start at 8 dollars and dont include a drink. Hmm even for downtown newark thats slightly high. Especially since darios has a similar platter for 6 dollars. IDK maybe the kinks are still in cause its new but… you were a 4 –1 for cost. But if price is no object or you need something new… I encourage you to check it out.
