Always on time and my gf came with out an appointment and Roya was nice enough to get her in last minute. It was really nice of her and her work is great

Terrible Experience,
Should not accept children as clients! Had been going for awhile and paying the same price. Scheduled a new appointment but upon arrival told that the price was increased over 30%. When I asked about the price increase I was told I had been given a break for the past year… Odd because I never knew I was getting a break, but prices aren’t posted — no harm, no foul. Just would have been nice to learn of that upon booking the appointment, rather than upon arrival when it’s too late to schedule elsewhere.
Then my 9 year old was in tears as she used a rat tail come to not only part but also comb through after washing. I asked if she could brush through with a brush first and she said, «This is normal, she has to learn to be a big girl and „she’s not bleeding“ or anything» — as if that’s the only standard or threshold for pain. She said she wasn’t worried about her crying and squirming in her seat she just has to «learn to be a big girl». It’s painful to get your hair combed through, she snarled. At the suggestion of using a brush first, the response was, «This is why most hairdressers don’t take kids, I’ll be here for 30 hours if I tried to do that.» She should add herself to the no kids list. I’m thinking there’s probably something between 30 hrs and having a child ball in your chair while you use a rat tail comb to rip through wet hair ??? Anyway, we won’t be back — ever and I have alerted everyone I know this shoppe feels vindictive despite the professional façade. All before care was taken, so I’m not sure if this was just an off day or what, but I’m not interested in finding out. «Hair It Iz» bites the dust!!! I have no good kind for this establishment or it’s angry, festering owner… perhaps a recommendation for medication might be in order?
Never again.

Cherri has been doing my hair for years and I wouldn’t trust anyone else. She does a great job with styling, washing, conditioning and pressing. I’ve had trouble with my hair not growing and her care has helped it a great deal. She also uses and recommends really good, natural products. Anytime I need to make appointment she is always open to take me in and my schedule changes often. She also has a great personality and is hilarious to boot. Highly recommended!

I called the salon shortly after it opened but couldn’t reach anyone. No answering service was set up at that time. No harm, no foul; they were just getting started.
I tried again a couple weeks later and this time left a message. I never received a call back. But hey, I thought, they’re still new, making they’re just trying to get a handle on everything that goes into opening a new shop.
Now, months and months later, I read these fabulous review and I called again.
Not even the courtesy of a call back.
I guess they’re doing so well that they don’t need any more clients. More power to them!

Wowzers!
I decided I wanted a new look because i’ve been working out a lot and looking a hot mess from all those sweaty workouts. lol My sister recently got her hair done at this salon, and I thought I’d give it a shot. After calling Shae and her answering all of many questions I felt she was very welcoming and knowledgeable in what she does. So, I quickly made a appointment.
Upon arriving I was still a bit apprehensive because this was my first time getting a sewn-​in weave and getting my hair done by Shae. My nerves were immediately calmed when I walked into this gorgeous salon and was greeted by not only the owner Shae, but also another beautician Jas.
Shae was very detailed with my hair and did an amazing job. I am very particular and she was right on que with everything. It’s clear that she has years of experience, but I found it most interesting that she was also using new and current techniques which was a plus. I think a beautician should stay current and that was Shae! I also found it very professional that she still charged me the same price she quoted over the phone even after me adding clipping my ends last min. (I intended to pay for that) Great customer service? Yes!!!
I had a blast during my visit as we all in the salon laughed and told jokes. This salon is definitely a place you’ll have a good time while getting all dolled up!
I would HIGHLY recommend Shae and this salon! If you need your hair done, go see her!!!

This salon is amazing! I am usually cautious when I get my hair cut but I just felt really comfortable here. Shae was really detailed and knew exactly what she was doing with my hair. I got a cut, color and press for a really good deal. She styled my hair exactly how I imagined it and I have no complaints. Visually the salon is beautiful, and customer service wise this is the best place I’ve ever been to. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it!

If you are searching for a professional salon to get your hair «did» look no further! The salon is gorgeous and the service is impeccable. Shae, the salon owner and head stylist has such attention to detail, resulting is easily the best weave I have EVER worn. She’s on time and on point. You won’t leave her chair disappointed! If you live within an hour of Newark, it’s well worth the drive. Hair It Iz is the place to be!
