The iPad ordering and the games are good but the service and food are horrible! The poor guys next to me got his iced tea after 30 min(yes his food had been served and he already asked two people. My food was wrong and the server told me that«this is how it comes out» and walked away(burnt chicken). Why should they care since they expect you to place gratuity when ordering! Avoid like the plague

Neat place in great spot in Terminal C. Staff is super friendly and helpful — especially for us first time users. Pricey drinks but expected at EWR. Everything is done via their iPads and credit card or United miles. Entertainment via the iPad. Cool! Drinks come fast. Good a bit slower. Limited menu but good enough for something to eat before boarding flight. Food is really good! Good value for the price and decent portion. I could have gone to United Club but this was better.

Worst service, food arrived, but to the wrong people, then one server brought is food after, but it was cold. Walked out.

One of the biggest rip offs I’ve ever had. $ 16 kale salad and I received a few dry, wilted leaves and very few toppings. The waitress didn’t seem to care that I was unhappy. Even with the already low bar in which I judge airport establishments, this was a huge disappointment.

The wine selection is nice and my sandwich was tasty, but this is the dumbest concept for an airport bar. After staring at my computer and phone all day, it’s nice to have a friendly face take my drink order and make a recommendation. I’m forced to put my own order in like I’m the server and swipe my credit card. My drink sat empty and the bartender didn’t even ask me if I wanted anything. I assumed I hit submit on my order but I guess I didn’t. I’ve been a restaurant manager before and this isn’t helping the bartender serve more customers. She’s currently giving three old guys a tutorial on how to use the system. Stupid.

Heed the warning highlighted on this and other reviews: it will take a good 30 – 35 minutes to get any simple food order in front of you. Beyond that, the coffee was warm, bacon was thick but(if you can believe) undercooked, with a minimal amount of diced potatoes as a side. But, go figure, you get a couple of soggy lettuce leafs under your eggs as a bonus. A little overpriced at 16.50 plus tip and toast will cost you extra. Wait staff seemed pleasant enough but not much solace in light of overall experience. Bring back the Terminal C people-movers!

If you have some time to kill in the Newark Airport and don’t mind overpaying for a drink, Oeno is fine. Interaction is almost exclusively through a mounted iPad in front of you while travelers make their way to their terminal destinations behind you. You will feel alone, but surrounded by other people, so it is kind of weird.

ZERO eye contact from servers. I asked for a glass of water while i was waiting, first guy said«I will ask». Second said ok but never brought. Been waiting for salt and pepper about 15 minutes now. Had to get my own place setting. And in order to place your order, you have to enter the tip. Default is 18%. Too bad they are so bad at service cause the food ain’t half bad. Receipt hits your email 20 minutes before your food arrives.

Stay away!!! This is the most inefficient and poorly run place I have ever been to. I ordered breakfast before a morning flight. I had 40 minutes before my flight would begin boarding, plenty of time right? It took 2 minutes to figure out the ipad and place an order: eggs and coffee. It took 25 minutes for the coffee to arrive. The food never came. I had to ask for a refund and run to my flight on an tempt stomach. Totally unacceptable for an airport restaurant. Numerous other customers had the same experience while I was there. Many people left without getting their order. Total fail.

Only reason I am rating 2 stars is because of our waiter. Food was ok but it took them 30 mins to bring us our green salad. So if you are in a rush avoid this place and other note: it is pricey for the quality

They automatically charge 18% tax when you order, not after you experience the restaurant. Waiter says it is policy. My policy is to never return. Bartender got our money back, waiter was nowhere to be found. Never ever again. Vino Volo we miss you, your service, and reasonable prices. What a loss. Stay away!

Friendly hostess and got a good seat by the window while killing time at ewr. iPad ordering system made it fun and easy — good selection of wines and beers. Overpriced but consistent with pricing at other airports we have visited. Keep the tab open until you are finished– allows you to add and ultimately assign gratuity based upon performance I had to go to the bar to ask about my drink order and after being ignored by the bartender — I asked can you help me? He looked at a computer screen and said ill get your drink– thanks I said Would recommend that management add an audio cue for drink orders– perhaps a persistent beep until the order is filled? Overall it was good– the wine flights were good as were the cheese and olive platters — we had a good waiter– but the iPad interface made some of the waitstaff. Seem largely indifferent

Very poor service. You tip before the meal, and the results are what you might expect. The mediocre food takes forever to come out, the wait staff is totally uninterested in doing their jobs – I had to get up to refill my own water. When my food was brought to the table, the waitress said nothing to me and avoided eye contact. But she was very gregarious with her co-workers. I’m done using the iPad at the United terminal. You’re better off at one of the sandwich counters where human beings are still somewhat accountable for their(un)professional behavior. Update: Holy smokes! Just saw that this place is owned by the same chef as Thirty Acres in Jersey City! Remarkable! Kevin the chef seems to be expert at alienating his customers in myriad ways, from his friendly-turned-hostile neighborhood joint to the airport ripoff. Might I suggest that Kevin start thinking about what it means to work in the *hospitality* industry?

I was stuck at the Newark airport for what turned out to be seven hours(!) due to a series of events that, if not too recent to be funny(I am still feeling the jet lag), would actually be pretty funny. After a) missing my connecting flight by approximately 2.5 minutes and b) waiting in the United customer service line for about 45 minutes to be re-booked and assigned a seat on the next available flight, I retreated to Oeno for a little liquid refreshment and some R&R. We(I was with my husband) were able to snag a cozy corner table in the back; this proved to be a very welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of Terminal C. This was my first time using an iPad-only ordering system. It took me a minute or two to get the hang of it, but, once I did, it was pretty easy to navigate. I was excited to see I could use my United miles to pay for our drinks.(Due to this and some other recent, and most decidedly unpleasant, experiences flying United, I have decided I shall do all in my power to not fly them again. So, if I’m not going to use my United miles for flying, I might as well drink them away.)(I will add, though, that I agree with some others that prices here are a tad high. And, if I had used actual dollars, instead of FF miles I do not care about, to pay for my drinks, I might not be rating this place quite so highly.) Overall, though, as mentioned, sitting in a quiet corner in Oeno, on what as an otherwise pretty stressful and frustrating day, was a very welcome break. Despite the fact you order from a machine and not a person, we did find the actual people at Oeno to be very friendly and helpful. One man, in particular, who cleaned our table when we first arrived, explained the ordering system to us and stopped by again a while later to make sure all was ok when he’d noticed we’d been sitting a bit too long without a drink.(That was because I had had trouble remembering my United FF password, which is required when paying by miles; but, by the time he stopped by, password had been remembered and drinks were on their way.) I really, really hope I do not find myself trapped at Terminal C for an extended period again any time soon(or ever), But, if I do, I’ll be making my way back to Oeno,

There used to be a Vino Volo. I love Vino Volo but it moved to somewhere else in the airport. I’m new to the iPad ordering system but the waiter was very friendly and helped me out. Just know you have to pay when you finish ordering with a credit card or the order won’t go to the kitchen. Receipt goes to your email. The iPad will keep track of your flight info so you won’t miss it. They let me try some wine before ordering. Food was good. Wine was good. Small wine bar but I will come back again. Yummy.

Food was delicious. The bartender ordered for us via the iPad and we figured the system out on our own from there no problem.

We needed fortification and stopped here. The individual computer was too much for my husband to handle, so we needed a person to order. They proceeded to place our order through this computer even though we had just verbally given her our order. Captive audience, high prices.

Take a seat and enjoy the fact that no one from the staff speaks to you as your order is made via an iPad propped on high up in the middle of your table. If someone is sitting across the table, you need to keep looking over the iPads which is a nuance. Pay with your credit card or with airline miles only. No cash accepted. I ordered the glass of the day which for an extra $ 5, you get a glass and a half. Total was $ 18 per glass. I also ordered the«meat plate». It came in a huge cutting board they literally took over half of the table with only 13 small, thin slices of different meats and three crostinis. Seriously? If the cutting board is to take with you, it might be slightly worth it. I finished my $ 18 meat platter… Eheem… Cutting board and it just sat there empty in my table for 10 mins. I put it in the table next to me and sat there for another 10 mins before anyone picked it up. No one checked on us. The tip is included with the price(preset to 18% but you can raise or lower it) and I would have lowered it knowing what kind of service(or lack of) I would have gotten Would have given it a zero rating but Unilocal won’t allow me.

Oeno is an island of civilization surrounded by the lunacy that is flying commercially these days. The tapas all looked tasty but I just had time for a quick glass of red before the flight, and it was refreshing and fortifying. The ordering process is all done by iPad(no cash accepted) which is a cute gimmick and nice that it offers recommendations of food that pairs well with your choice, but it took three staff members to get the credit card swipe to work and it makes me wonder what the point of a gratuity is(conveniently added at point of sale) when the iPad does all the real work. IPad problems notwithstanding, Oeno is probably the best choice at EWR for a little respite before takeoff.

This is a new restaurant in Terminal C of the Newark Liberty Airport. This was my first visit to this airport. And it appears to me that this new place Named Oeno is replacing the prevously Named Vino Volo in the same location. The food was reasonably good. We selected the Soppressata and the Salmon Sandwich. HIt the spot during a day of travel. Prices for liquor are high but the pour is okay. Service exceeded the food with the staff assisting in every way to show how to use the modern day computer ordering method. You can order your food, drinks, call for assistance, check your boarding pass and flight information, and search the internet from your table. The device can be taken from their stand and put on the side for unimpaired conversation with your travel companion. All this was new to me and I had fun using the device. Gratuity is added to your bill. This is a practice I despise. Found it to be a very common addition to bills in Miami Beach. Since I generally start at 20% to take care of a staff member in a restaurant that takes care of me the automatic 18% saves me money. Again nice places with decent food and good service are not that easy to find in any airport. But I would return to Oeno if ever in the Northeast again.
