I almost don’t want to write this review because then the secret will be out. This is a hidden gem in Newark. The punk/hip-hop/Noise bands are dope! HO99O9, Kill Matilda. The space is intimate enough and covered in psychedelic-ish art. Cover is generally between $ 10 – 15.

I just moved to Newark about 10 months ago; I’m glad that there are places like Seed. This gallery looks great with brick walls and a decent amount of space. I’ve went to two events there so far. One of the events had live performance from several musicians from different parts of the state. Great place to meet people in this town’s growing art scene. The only thing I wasn’t too crazy about was paying a cover and then being charged for booze on top of it. The art studios across the street from me threw a party and their cover included free beer. So I can only give this gallery three stars.

I was here for a party last week, and it was AWESOME. It’s a hidden gem, in a building right next to Dino BBQ and the Pru Center. Only a short walk from the PATH at Penn Station, it’s worth checking out. The owner is super sweet, and there’s a bunch of cool artwork displayed on the walls. I met a bunch of very cool people from the Newark area, who were all involved in various aspects of the community. I’m not sure their hours (or their prices for that matter), but you should swing by to take a look.

Although I’m not at all a fan of modern art, I was really impressed by the space here and by its mere existence in Newark. If you brought me here blindfolded and asked me where I was, I would have guessed New York City. Nice, spacious gallery, and a great spot for a Unilocal Elite event!

Definitely a unique space and we enjoyed the event we went to. Just a warning that the stairs to get up there are long and slightly treacherous. The exposed brick is beautiful when you get upstairs and it’s spacious enough to have a pretty decent sized event. Would definitely come back to anything being held here!
